Moztool and on page ranking matching
-
How does the Moztool compare and filter the search phrases you enter in your campaign? Or more correctly, will it filter out stop words or is it an exact match?
For example
I enter a phrase to track that say: "book ski trip austria"
Identified in Google I see that most users search for just that "book ski trip austria"
But in content, I cant write that as that is uncorrect english and I want to maby write something like: "When you book a ski trip to austria you get..."
How will this affect my on page SEO report, will it still match and mark a "V" in done or show a an error?
Even more interesting is, what happen if you do phrases in different order like "An austrian skip trip will make you feel..."

Hey Per,
Good question.
The On-Page report actually utilizes Broad Keyword Use in it's grading. For situations just like you mentioned. Not every keyword is utilizing proper grammar so we've padded it out a bit to allow for extenuating circumstances.
Google will do similar with their rankings unless someone uses quotes to ask for an exact match (weird, but it happens).
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Joel. -
Not sure about SEO report card effect.. try it out and let us know.
However, when it comes to "should I make my content grammatically correct?" the answer is yes. Throwing in the word "to" isn't going to make-or-break your SEO campaign and could go a long way in improving (rather, not reducing) user experience.

Duplicate pages coming from links from the login page - what should we do about them?
This is a follow on to an earlier question which was well answered by Dirk Ceuppens regarding abnormal crawl issues. We are seeing that the issues relating to Duplicate Pages are coming from links from the login page which shows information about where the user was redirected from. For example, if the visitor is not logged on and wishes to wish-list an item, they will be redirected to the login page, with the item code and intended action in the url; which can then continue on to the desired page once logged on. The MOZ crawler is seeing these pages as having Duplicated Content whilst they are all the same apart from a piece of information in the URL. Should we be blocking these duplications? Are they a risk to us? What should we be doing? Many thanks, Sarah

Is it possible to submit a page to the seomoz index?
We recently got added to dmoz and botw and would like to see those links considered in our domain authority as we are tracking our progress and comparing ourselves to other sites. Is it possible to submit links to the seomoz index manually to have those tracked? (If I am even understanding this correctly)

On Page Grading Not Working
I am not getting any results in on page grading. When I click on add keywords a list of keywords appears that I have previously entered. They have tick boxes next to them and you can filter them but SEO moz is not automtically creating grade reports? Any ideas? Obviously I've set it up wrong somehow.

I checked the Bing US and i rank 5. Is there a problem? Keyword

On-Page Keyword Optimization Question
First let me say I want to improve the text of the site I am working on focusing on the site visitor in the first instance. I run the "On-Page Keyword Optimization" The page fails on "Avoid Keyword Stuffing in Document... ...Occurrences of Keyword 48" well over the limit of 15. The occurrence include those in the site navigation and strapline, but it was my understanding that Google was aware of nav areas/areas common to most other pages on the site and that keywords in these areas weren't viewed as being part of the page content. The keyword is the main keyword for the company, and the page is the home page i.e. "acme widgets" the others are "acme widgets for the home"... well you get the idea: The page breaks down as follows: 5 instances in primary nav 1 instance strapline 3 instances secondary nav Remainder in page body I am told by the tool to reduce to 15 instances, so should I? Have 9 instances in the nav and other areas and 6 or so on the page Have 9 instances in the nav and other areas and 15 or so on the page
