Twitter DA
-
Recently notice that the domain authority for twitter is shown as 8 instead of the 100 that it used to. Is this a glitch or an actual change?

thanks Keri

Yes! its up now... it says 100 DA for facebook at my end!
-
We noticed this too, and we're investigating what happened and will keep people updated with the status. Edit: We rolled back a change we made, and this is now fixed.

Not sure what to say because Facebook’s DA says 9 and my website DA says 60 so it’s funny in a way... I guess one of the members from the SEOmoz team can help and answer this question...
-
I noticed Wiki is a 3 and CNN is an 11, too. I'm not sure if something is broken but we know those aren't correct. Strangely, Google is a 93 so it's not ALL big sites.

Forecasting DA increases after merging domains?
Hi all, I wondered if anyone had any suggestions for forecasting DA changes after merging two domains. The context is that we have two sites and there is argument to combine them into one. To cut a long story short, one of the considerations is how much DA might increase if we migrated one domain into the other. Domain 1 has a DA in the 30s. Domain 2 (which we'd redirect) has a DA in the late 20s. Around 90% of the LRDs are 'incremental'. Surely there is a way to forecast what the increase in DA would be if we decided to combine? I haven't found anything online...

Twitter Robots.TXT
Hello Moz World, So, I trying to wrap my head around all of the different robots.txt. I decided to dive into a site like Twitter, and look at their robot text. And now, I'm super confused. What are they telling the search engines with /hasttag/*src=. Why don't they just use: Useragent: * Disallow: But, they address each search engine. Is there any benefit to this? Thanks for all of the awesome responses!!! B/R Will H.

DeepCrawl Calls Incomplete Open Graph Tags and Missing Twitter Cards An Issue. How important is this?
Hi, Let me first say that I really like the tool DeepCrawl. So, not busting on them. More like I'm interested in the relative importance of two items they call as "Issues." Those items are "Incomplete Open Graph Tags" and "No Valid Twitter Cards." They call this out on every page. To define it a bit further, I'm interested in the importance as it relates to organic search.I'm also interested in there's some basic functionality we may have missed in our Share42 implementation. To me, it looks like the social sharing buttons work. Also, we use Share42 social sharing buttons, which are quite functional. If it would help, I could private message you an example url. Thanks! Best... Mike

Does getting a placement in a high DA site matter if PA remains low?
I run a very small business in Australia, and was thrilled to create content which got picked up by a DA92 site in my industry. PA is at 1 as it's only been live for 2 weeks now, and I have a couple of questions that I couldn't find online: If a huge site like the Wall Street Journal adds content all the time, the page gets buried in their history. Would the PA improve over time, or should I just expect it to remain at 1 or 1-10? Is the boost to my SERP's negligable, is there a period where I need to wait to see the effect, or is there any effect whatsoever if the PA remains low? Thanks so much in advance, I really appreciate any input. Cheers,

DA dropped 7 pts in one week as well as our competitors. Is something going on?
We have consistently had a 70 in DA and now all of the sudden we are at a 63 as well as seeing the same considerable drop among our competitors. This was odd as I have not seen this type of drop in DA since being with the company. Any ideas are appreciated.

Why do Twitter Canonicalise to Home?
I have just noticed that Twitter canonicalise back to their homepage from every profile page that I checked. Check the source on any profile, and the canonical looks like this: rel="canonical" href="https://twitter.com/" /> Have I completely missed something here? I don't get why Twitter need to, or indeed would want to do this. As far as I understand it, Twitter is hinting to Google that they should ignore profile pages and only rank the homepage. Except Google doesn't. If you search for "Rand Fishkin Twitter", you'll get Rand's page. Search "[Anyone You Like] Twitter" and you'll get to their exact page. Hope somebody can shed some light on this, as it seems counter intuitive to tell Google to ignore profile pages when I imagine a significant chunk of their search traffic comes from people searching Google for specific profiles. Cheers, Mark

How to quickly up your PA/DA?
Okay people, so far i've actually tried a lot of things and analised a lot of data provided by SEOMoz and i already made a lot of changes. Still one of my competitors stands on the number 1 position in Google. Their page ranks F for the keyword and my page ranks A. I can only come to the conclusion that there is another part that plays his part here. So i basicly found this informatie: Page Grade: My site: Grade A Competitor: Grade F Page Authority (PA): My site: 49/100 Competitor: 62/100 Domain Authority (DA): My Site: 39/100 Competitor: 55/100 Total Links: My Site: 1188 Competitor: 8250 FB Shares: My Site: 15 Competitor: 14 FB Likes: My Site: 2 Competitor: 1 Tweets: My Site:6 Competitor: 7 Google+: My Site: 3 Competitor: 0 I already made some adjustments to my facebook fan page so it can recieve more likes then before. I think the main issue is located in the PA en DA factors. What do you guys think and what could i do to quickly increase my PA en DA factor (PA is the most important one i think). hope to hear from you soon
