Ranking at 8, 9, & 15... Is this self-cannibalisation?
-
@ 8 is a blog about a youtube video review a customer made of the product. Blog title includes keyword
@ 9 is the product page itself and includes a rich snippet video
@ 15 is a blog about the product by an independent professional in the field - again the blog title contains the keyword.
The page I want to rank highest is the product page which is currently at position 9.
If it were you would you delete the keyword from the blog titles? Or is that just going to lose me those blog results and do little/nothing for the product page.
Thanks
EDIT: I should have said... both blog pages link to the product page and the keyword is the anchor.

Nice work!
Move these up a little higher in the SERPs and you will be running your competitors out of town.
On the non-product pages you can place obvious house ads that show you have a product page where a purchase and full details can be found. Or you can place "add to cart" buttons on the other two pages.
To take full advantage of this each of your pages could be optimized for different variants of the keyword.
I don't get it why some people think this is a problem.
Cannibalization? Hell yes! You are ready to eat your competitor's lunch.
-
Nice, as you said that should also help.
You might find if your picking up reviews, you could also pick up some social sharing which will also help. That's if you don't already have some social sharing buttons on the product page.
-
Then Google has clearly approved of what you have and ranked accordingly. As 'activity super' said, spend a little time enhancing the product page. Do a little sharing on Google+ and make sure that everything is as good as it possibly can be within the page. See if you can get some backlinks to that page as well.

Yes, all on the same domain.
One thing to say about the product page, I suppose, is that because of new reviews, it will get more content over time whereas the others won't get additional content.
-
Yes, I can edit it as I see fit.
-
are all 3 pages on the same domain? you can have only some much results from the same domain on one page.. in that case, make a chice and change some content..
otherwise, you should link from those #8 and #15 pages to the #9 page like activitysuper says and push this page some more, find some more links, perhaps through social.
-
Personally I wouldn't change the titles, more inclined to link back to the product page from the other ranking pages.
If you have already done this, I would just keep pushing the product page, your only 1 position behind 8th so a little more work might see you bump 8th position.
-
So the one at position 8, is that one that you wrote?

We've a client that wants to repurpose some of the content on there site but not lose rankings. However its changing the content to an alternative to ....
The Current URL Example would be test.co.uk/prodcut-catogory/product-1 . This side of the business is being sold however they have products elsewhere in the range that can be used as alternatives to the product range that will be moved, so they want to amend these pages with an " alternative " slant. Example idea would be to change to the following : test.co.uk/prodcut-catogory/alternative-to-product-1, trying not to change the URL to much, keeping the majority of the content the same but adding new copy stating the benefits of using the alternative product. So it becomes a comparison between the two. I appreciate I will have to amend the URLs, titles, meta, H1s, add new copy & preform a 301's. Option 2 Simply write a second page which is all brand new content talking about it being an alternative to the products and doing a 301 from the original page but not amending that. Be great to get peoples feedback on this approach and if there is anything else that I could do to minimise the drop in rankings once I complete the changes. Thank you D

IE & Edge issues with site relaunch - advice appreciated
Hi, I've been involved in a major ecommerce site relaunch, redesign and backend and have been involved in several successful ones before. On the whole things have gone great. Of course there are some minor bugs to fix, rendering issues etc but my real concern is a significant decline in conversion rate BUT only for IE and Edge users. All other major browsers conv rate has increased. Trawling through analytics and the site itself in those browsers there is no obvious sticking points e.g bounce rate has improved on all browser inc IE & Edge, no particular point in the funnel is suffering more than others, no particular page or landing page is doing much worse than others etc. it just seems like all the kpi's (except bounce) are down a little on the 2 microsoft browsers, which has a significant impact. One of the things that changed on relaunch is that we moved to https and im wondering if that might be causing an issue with IE / Edge security or privacy settings or that functionality on the site that relies on cookies is being affected, though in testing we haven't come across anything. I'd appreciate any advice or insight. Thanks, Andy

Massive drop in rankings alert!
Hi fello SEOs. I've been working for a large UK artificial grass company since last November. They we're converting badly but ranked no.1 for the keyword artificial grass. Now they convert well but have slipped down to 18. That's one hell of a drop!!! The website is www.easigrass.com But; Before I came on board they had their main .com website with about 25 subdomains for each major city in the UK. I switched that in February 2016 to sub folders and the rankings for "artificial grass" have drastically dropped in the SERPs but they now have many more pages being indexed by Google. I'm simply lost at what has happend. Am I trying too hard to rank or is there a problem that I''m not seeing. Many of the pages have great grades and scores with MOZ, most in the 90's so the on-page SEO doesn't seem to be a problem. I'm wondering if there is something that I'm not seeing. HELP!!!!

Page Speed & SERPS
What impact does page speed have on rankings in the search engine? If I have a Site that is heavy with Pictures, Onsite videos and various scripts that would ultimately be of good use to a viewer but takes time to load. VS A Site that has pictures that are fully optimized for the web or eliminated to save on load time, Videos that are hosted on Sites like VIMEO or You Tube and eliminate scripts where possible and use css3. Note the site loads faster and is better for mobil but doesn't have the same feel of the first site but is useful to the user. Now let's say that both sites are virtual twins in terms of their link profile, age, content quality, location and citations. Will one rank better because of load time? It's the quest for creating the ultimate site for users while delivering it within the fastest time possible.

How do I get Google to rank the right page?
My site ranks #1 for Arabic Interpreting on Google UK. This great, but it's ranking my home page rather than the my specific Arabic Interpreting page. The home page shouldn't really rank for this term as it has very little connection with this exact term. This means that while the site ranks great, the conversion is pretty much zero. How can I get Google to rank the page I've optimised for this term? I know the ranking will no doubt slip but may the conversions will be better. Can you help please?

Improving data tables for Usability & SEO
I have some large html data tables that look horrible (see bottom of http://www.jwsuretybonds.com/surety-bonds/commercial-bonds/auto_dealer_bond.htm). To my surprise, heat map tests actually proved them to be useful in improving our conversion rates to get visitors to apply for the bond they need. We are looking at ways to better the user experience while still keeping the data visible to search spiders. One idea was to use a dropdown list to filter by states. With new web technologies, there must be a better way to utilize this data. What are some alternatives?
