Yahoo answers api
-
I'm thinking about using the yahoo answers api for my site for the real estate niche (to build up some content for potential visitors) in a forum style, how should i go about seo with this method? I don't want to get penalized for duplicate content so I wanted to know what the best seo practice would be for something like this?

In my opinion, i don't think you will derive a lot of SEO benefit from hosting the yahoo answers. You are better off building your own Q&A database . It is definitely more work and time consuming however there can be a lot of benefit in investing time and resources in this.
There is an old post referring to Q&A as a strategy that you can access here.

How to answer questions when there no questions for my keyword
Hello, Let's say I want to rank on "Alsace bike tour" whatever tool I use Moz keyword explorer, google suggest , keyword.io, answer the public ... there are not questions... so... what do I need to answer ? I imagine that for google there are some questions more relevant than others ? Should I answer do I need to bring my own bike or where will I go... ? and will google give me "points " for answering those questions even though people don't have questions... For the keyword title tag, it is easy, people ask the character limit, title tag generator and so on but for may keywords like that ones I am targeting people have NO Questions ! Thank you,

The Great Subdomain vs. Subfolder Debate, what is the best answer?
Recently one of my clients was hesitant to move their new store locator pages to a subdomain. They have some SEO knowledge and cited the whiteboard Friday article at https://moz.com/blog/subdomains-vs-subfolders-rel-canonical-vs-301-how-to-structure-links-optimally-for-seo-whiteboard-friday. While it is very possible that Rand Fiskin has a valid point I felt hesitant to let this be the final verdict. John Mueller from Google Webmaster Central claims that Google is indifferent towards subdomains vs subfolders. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h1t5fs5VcI#t=50 Also this SEO disagreed with Rand Fiskin’s post about using sub folders instead of sub domains. He claims that Rand Fiskin ran only 3 experiments over 2 years, while he has tested multiple subdomain vs subfolder experiments over 10 years and observed no difference. http://www.seo-theory.com/2015/02/06/subdomains-vs-subfolders-what-are-the-facts-on-rankings/ Here is another post from the Website Magazine. They too believe that there is no SEO benefits of a subdomain vs subfolder infrastructure. Proper SEO and infrastructure is what is most important. http://www.websitemagazine.com/content/blogs/posts/archive/2015/03/10/seo-inquiry-subdomains-subdirectories.aspx Again Rand might be right, but I rather provide a recommendation to my client based on an authoritative source such as a Google engineer like John Mueller. Does anybody else have any thoughts and/or insight about this?

What To Do About Yahoo Slurp Bot Bogging My Site Down?
Hello, Our IT department has informed me that they have seen extremely heavy traffic from the Yahoo Slurp bot in recent days. They are claiming this bot has single-handedly caused one of our servers to crash. I am a bit skeptical of this, as I have not found these particular legitimate search engine bots to be aggressive resource hogs, especially for an enterprise-level web server. I have requested to examine the server logs myself, but have not had success with this. IT is requesting to block this particular bot, but I am apprehensive about doing this, as I don't want this to have any negative implications on our site showing in Yahoo News or other Yahoo properties. Does anyone else have experience with this bot being an overly-zealous resource drag, and if so, what is the best course of action to satisfy all parties?

Bing steady, Yahoo dropped
For weeks, Yahoo consistently contributed just over 80% of what I got from Bing. Suddenly for the last two weeks the Yahoo and Bing graphs diverged, with Yahoo traffic dropping to 50% of Bing's. Any ideas? Did Yahoo make any deals with companies to give them better ranking? Have they suddenly started adding more ads above the fold? Any thoughts? Thanks

Does Bing(and Yahoo)Crawl AJAX Based Content?
I found this article and Bing appeared to at this time have a checkbox for the option for AJAX handling although looking at the Bing Webmaster Tools it doesnt appear that this option is available. Has it just been completely integrated now, relieving webmaster from needing to check the option or is it no longer supported? http://searchengineland.com/bing-now-supports-googles-crawlable-ajax-standard-84149
