How To Do SEO For Google Local Listing?

Hi,
I have been reading around but i still don't understand how we can rank better for local search listing from Google place.
I have tried:
Adding keywords to descriptions
Adding the max of 10 photosAnd also get my customers to comment on my Google place listing leaving testimonials.
Is there any tips?

Yes, many tips : )
If you are working on getting local listings on Google places you will need to build citations.
A citation is your Name Address and phone number. Every citation must match the info you placed on your Google local page.
I would recommend starting off by listing your site in good directories that have relevant categories and then earning citations from local web sites(http://searchengineland.com/where-to-get-citations-for-local-seo-105667). This will require off line work such as sponsoring something locally and getting a citation on the site.

SEO And Images: 2014 Tips
What is a good "image" strategy? All I really know is to make sure to use images that you create yourself and/or images that are approved for free commercial use and add alt tags. Do random listings effect Google Local Rankings?
So my clients business name is "Photojennette Photography" and while researching citations to correct I have found a completely random issue. There's an actress named Jennette McCardy that apparently has a ton of photos on the internet and with that are page titles like "Brand New Photo : Jennette McCardy" and "Look at this Photo Jennette McCardy" My question is, would Google be sending my listing down because of this? It's completely random and has nothing to do with the business. Thanks in advance.

Does google places mind listing cities on the home page
Hello, A site in our industry is listing a bunch of cities on their home page and ranking for them. Like "Our dog training facility provides services to dogs in city1,city2,city3,city4,city5,city6 state" where the cities and states are relatively in their area. It's working organically, will this confuse google places? Thanks!

How to Fix Issue for Inactive Products in Google Merchant Center?
Today, I was checking my Google merchant center account. I come to know that, there are 145 inactive products are available from product feed. I have checked few products manually and found following error. "The URL specified in your data feed wasn't working correctly when we reviewed this item." You can view more by attached image. Google Places - Different NAP on various directories...
My client's veterinary clinic uses a service called Localvets.com which is a division of Yext.com. This service updates listings and sponsors them across various directories. Since this is a referral service (they get paid for new clients) they use a custom phone number and custom website address for these listings. Question: Is this hurting the SEO potential of the Google Places listing since the N.A.P. are not the same? Thoughts?
