How do I keep the SEOmoz bot from showing up in my Google Analytics?
-
I noticed today that we had a huge spike in visits on December 9th of this month. We are talking like 13,000 more visits. The network the visits were from was psinet inc. Any suggestions on how to keep these bots from registering in my Google Analytics? Is there an ip address I can exclude?

Thanks, Keri - was just curious whether Roger triggers hits or not. Sounds like he doesn't
Thanks!

Roger shouldn't be triggering GA in most cases. What I meant to say above is I had done a Google search and seen other reports of psinet triggering GA, but not Roger. If you think he is causing a problem, send a note over to help@seomoz.org and we'll take a look. Thanks!

Hi Keri, is there anyway I can ensure Roger won't trigger GA tracks? Perhaps an IP address (s) that I could exclude?
Thanks!

Hi John,
psinet would not be from SEOmoz. I've done a search on Google and seeing other people report that it is also messing with their traffic. Roger does occasionally trigger GA, but usually doesn't trigger javascript analytics.

Would updating Meta Titles affect Google analytics tracking?
Hi All, I need a little bit of help. We need to optimize our blog's articles Meta titles for SEO which all exceed 100 characters. I was told that if we change the titles, google analytics would split the tracking pages and count the data as 2 pages (old title and new title). Has any of you have this experience before and if so, is there a way to avoid google analytics counting this as two pages? Thanks in advance! Cross domain tracking Google Analytics
Hi there, Got a question on cross domain tracking: We have a couple of TLD's to serve localized content to our visitors, next to our main .com TLD where our app is running as well in a subdomain. Situation is this: Local sites:
Reporting & Analytics | | jorisbrabants
marketingsite.be
marketingsite.com.br
marketingsite.fr Main site: marketingsite.com
app.marketingsite.com Conversion gets triggered when somebody ends up in app.marketingsite.com/firstuse for example. People can sign up at the local site filling in their email but they end up in app.marketingsite.com/firstuse Reading this article on cross domain tracking I'm getting a bit confused on the setup of the tracking code itself. The sample code provided shows these two lines: ga('require', 'linker'); ga('linker:autoLink', ['maindomain.com','targetdomain.com']); Now the question 🙂 Is it correct when I think that maindomain should be replaced with our local TLD's on every one of those, and that targetdomain is where the conversion happens? In this case the .com site?0 -
Installing Google Analytics tracking code on Landing Pages
Hello, I have my landing pages located on a separated subdomain (LP.example.com). I've created a new property in Google Analytics for that subdomain. My question is: where do I have to place the GA tracking code ? in the header ? before I close the tag or before I close the tag ? I have another issue: I've placed the GA Tracking code on some pages in the way below:

Google Analytics - paid & unpaid visits messed up
I guess Google Analytics messes up my paid and unpaid visits. In the list of top 10 kw's sending non-paid traffic it shows 5 very short kw's that we don't rank for at all (checked with RankTracker - we are not in first 50 search results). But these are the kw's we advertise for... One more proof: Webmaster Tools 'Search queries' shows 10 times less 'Clicks' from organic search than Google Analytics. Is there anyone who is experiencing this kind of problems with GA? Is there anything you can do with it?
