Is there an easy way to create this type of post, wordpress?
-
I run a site that is in Google news and built on wordpress.
I have seen this type of post on a few sites
http://searchengineland.com/searchcap-the-day-in-search-december-21-2012-143315
Its basically a summary of posts for that day or week etc
I am wondering, does anyone know of an easy way to create these types of pages? At the moment we simply copy and paste and create all links manually.
Im wondering, is there a plugin that allows you to create a post like this but quicker?
Any ideas at all would be great
Thanks in advance

There are some plugins which do create these kind of posts automatically based on keywords. But for what I know and feel it's much better nowadays to spend 20 minutes and do it manually, plus adding comments and tips, in short, provide curation to the post.
For automated plugins in Wordpress you can simply enter "automated google news plugin" or else I would say. Look also for "goolge news" within the plugin search inside WorpdressYou can also create content from a RSS feed in a widget or in the footer of your Wordpress theme and so get updated news around that topic. Just copy any available RSS feed link about a subject (found on relevant websites and pages), use a RSS feed plugin if the WP theme you use does not have it, and paste that link.

will check it out and let you know
Thanks for your help

Here is something that I found useful
Go check the screenshot when you enter the link. It seems really helpful for that kind of situations.

Please keep me posted if that did not solve your problem and I will try to find something else.

Hubspot (Primary CMS) and WordPress Blog on Subfolder?
We are thinking about transitioning a WordPress blog from a subdomain to subfolder on our main root domain that is run on Hubspot. Is there anything that we need to be aware of? In my mind, it should be a simply as creating the WordPress instance on a subfolder and then importing everything in and then setting up 301 redirects. Has anyone done this before? I ask because our product managers would like to continue to update their blogs within the WordPress environment rather than transition over to Hubspot. Thanks in advance!

Best way to handle deletion of a forum subdomain?
Hello All Our site www.xxxx.com has long had a forum subdomain forum.xxxx.com. We have decided to sunset the forum. We find that the 'Ask a Question' function on product pages and our social media presence are more effective ways of answering customers' product & project technical Qs. Simply shutting down the forum server is going to return thousands of 404s for forum.xxxx.com, which I can't imagine would be helpful for the SEO of www.xxxx.com even though my understanding is that subdomains are sort of handled differently than the main site. We really tremendously on natural search traffic for www.xxxx.com, so I am loathe to make any moves that would hurt us. I was thinking we should just keep the forum server up but return 410s for everything on it, including the roughly ~3,000 indexed pages until they are removed from the index, then shut it down. The IT team also gave the option of simply pointing the URL to our main URL, which sorta scares me because it would then 200 and return the same experience hitting it from forum.xxxx.com as www.xxxx.com, which sounds like a very bad idea. (Yes, we do have canonicals on www.xxxx.com). In your opinion, what is the best way to handle this matter? Thank You

Wordpress Tags error in MOZ
Hi, We are getting an enormous amount of missing meta description only on our tag archives. When we post we fill in a description and are using the Yoast plugin ( getting green lights). Now we are finding that we're missing descriptions in tags archives. What is the best thing to do? We're finding that the tags are creating a separate url for each tag that has missing description even though the post has a full description. 1. To block spiders from crawling tags? 2. To stop using tags? 3. What do you suggest? Thank you

How to integrate two websites, post-merger?
One of my clients has just been bought by a much larger company and thus will be losing their website and brand name. My client's site has built up a lot of traffic and authority in its space, so we are very nervous about losing all of this after the sale has gone through. The purchasing company intends for my client's services to be represented on its own website, so I am wondering, from a technical standpoint, what the best way is of going ahead with this, since my client will continue to work with the new company and would like to keep us onboard. Should we doing an 80/20 analysis, recreate our most valuable pages (eg. 70%+ of traffic is to home page) on the new site, then 301 each of these pages individually to its equivalent on the new site, while retaining as much of the old pages' on-page content/structure as possible? One thing I am concerned about is the fact that a large chunk of traffic is from brand searches. Again, should we simply recreate the home page with a page title of e.g. "X company is now part of Y company" in order that we'll still rank highly for the old company's brand name? Any advice on how to go about this is much appreciated.

What is the best way to correct 403 access denied errors?
One of the domains I manage is seeing a growing number of 403 errors. For SEO purposes would it be ideal to just 301 redirect them? I am plenty familiar with 404 error issues, but not 403s.

Best way to start a fresh site from a penalized one
Dear all, I was dealing with a penalized domain (Penguin, Panda), hundred of spamy links (Disavoved with no success), tiny content resolved in part and so on .... I think the best way is to start a new fresh domain but we want to use some of the well written content from the old (penalized site). To do this task I will mark as NOINDEX the source (penalized) page and move this content to the new fresh domain. Question: do you think this is a non-dangerous aprouch or do you know other strategy? I'll appreciate your point of view Thank you

Easy way to change wordpress category titles. Currently categories are appearing with the same title?!
I'm working on a wordpress adult dating review site and have started to set up categories for each of my main keywords. I have also started to add sub categories by county and town and so far have done so for the counties of 'Lincolnshire' and 'Derbyshire'. The problem is though that for each of my subcategories the page titles are appearing the same. For example: www.mysite.com/category/online-dating/lincolnshire/spalding (root category online dating) shows the title as 'Spalding'. www.mysite.com/category/adult-dating/lincolnshire/spalding also has the title 'Spalding' even though it's root category is different (adult dating). It's probably easier to go to http://www.top-10-dating-reviews.com to see how it's set up. If you click in the category text in the top menu and navigate to dating/derbyshire/alfreton for example and then adult dating/derbyshire/alfreton you'll notice the page titles are the same. I use all in one SEO pack and have rewrite titles checked with category titles set to %category_title% | %blog_title%. I also use category SEO updater. In order to prevent duplicate content issues how can I simply make the title of each category category root title/category subtitle(county)/category subtitle 2(town). The title of each category page would then read for example Online Dating Lincolnshire Spalding.

Changing Wordpress Permalinks Bad For SEO?
Hi, I have various pages set up such as http://www.musicliveuk.com/home/wedding-singer. Is there any benefit in SEO terms to changing it to http://www.musicliveuk.com/live-music/wedding-singer? I would presume that a keyword would be better for SEO than 'home' which is irrelevant? Also if I were to change it would all the links external I have on other sites pointing to http://www.musicliveuk.com/home/wedding-singer be lost as the url no longer exists? I suppose I could set up a manual redirect from http://www.musicliveuk.com/home/wedding-singer to http://www.musicliveuk.com/live-music/wedding-singer or would wordpress automatically redirect from the old to new? By redirecting I understand that some 'link juice' is lost along the way so is including the keyword in the url of enough benefit to warrant losing some link juice? Finally if I do change the url to include the keyword how do I do it in wordpress? I can only see how to change the page title using the 'edit' button when editing a page?
