Does it make sense to have multiple campaigns for one website?
-
I'm new to SEO and SEOMoz. While setting up my campaigns, I was a bit confused. Do I need to setup separate campaigns for different pages of my site?
For example, I run a proofreading service: www.kibin.com
I obviously want to track keyword on the main page (like proofreading service), however, I also want to track keywords (like 'essay editing') on www.kibin.com/essay-editing
Should these be two separate campaigns or do I just put all the keywords into one campaign for kibin.com?
Thanks!

Glad it was helpful - good luck and I look forward to more Q&As with you!

Thanks Andrea, that's very helpful and it makes sense! I'll stick with one campaign.
And yes, there is duplicate content issues with our homepage and /essay-editing page... we're working on a redesign right now and will have it live in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, I'm setting up our Moz account and getting some crawl data to work with, doing keyword research, etc.
Thanks for providing some clarity.

Welcome! My two cents (and the great thing about this site is that you'll get plenty of opinions) is that I like one campaign per domain. For me, it's really about seeing what's happening within mysite - and, using your example, www.kibin.com/essay-editing is a page within your kibin.com domain.
Focusing on just a subfolder, like your essay-editing section, just limits your overall visibility into what's going on within your site. Personally, I look at the big picture then whittle down into the subfolders and whatnot.
Why do I have that preference? The pages have to live within the overall domain - I look at the relation between them, how they each rank, where I may cannibalize one vs the other, what page ranks well, what doesn't. This is what Moz campaigns are great for.
Moz will tell you which pages rank for which terms. You could learn that, again using your example, a different page is ranking for "'essay editing" than the one you seem to want, www.kibin.com/essay-editing.
(Although, having just looked at your main domain and your essay-editing page, they look exactly alike so there's duplicate content and possible cannibalization going on - or something isn't functioning properly and the page won't load; I didn't dig into it.)
Now, since you can set up multiple campaigns, there's nothing to stop you for doing both, either. You can always try it that way and see what data you see and then tweak as you'd like.

Hi Kibin,
No you shouldn't set multiple campaigns. Just simple add keywords to your campaign in section: Campaigns -> Manage Keywords
After crawling you can see the results in:
-
Rankings - keyword positions
-
On-Page - On Page Optimization Reports for Google ... how good page is optimized for specific keyword

WEbsite cannot be crawled
I have received the following message from MOZ on a few of our websites now Our crawler was not able to access the robots.txt file on your site. This often occurs because of a server error from the robots.txt. Although this may have been caused by a temporary outage, we recommend making sure your robots.txt file is accessible and that your network and server are working correctly. Typically errors like this should be investigated and fixed by the site webmaster. I have spoken with our webmaster and they have advised the below: The Robots.txt file is definitely there on all pages and Google is able to crawl for these files. Moz however is having some difficulty with finding the files when there is a particular redirect in place. For example, the page currently redirects from threecounties.co.uk/ to https://www.threecounties.co.uk/ and when this happens, the Moz crawler cannot find the robots.txt on the first URL and this generates the reports you have been receiving. From what I understand, this is a flaw with the Moz software and not something that we could fix form our end. _Going forward, something we could do is remove these rewrite rules to www., but these are useful redirects and removing them would likely have SEO implications. _ Has anyone else had this issue and is there anything we can do to rectify, or should we leave as is?

How do I know which keywords to track in my MOZ Campaigns?
Good morning Mozzers from the London, England. This may be a silly question to many of the community, but here goes "How do I know which keywords to track in my MOZ campaigns?" I work in the gyms section in the UK and am tracking keywords like "Gyms in Liverpool" or "Manchester gyms" which send me some traffic. I can see search terms like the above do send me traffic from Google's Webmaster Tools, but obviously this tool won't highlight the keyword opportunities I am missing out on because I currently don't rank. Any guidance on this dilemma would be hugely appreciated, Kindest regards Ben

Are there any tools to give a value STRICTLY for Quantity of Content on your website?
I am trying to put a value to all the work I do and want to put a very specific value to the number of pages of unique content I have. I know everyone says its about quality, and sure it is but quantity is still a factor and looked at. (Can't argue with if you prefer 100 semi-optimized pages versus 1 optimized page- and is unfair for a tool to rate the website the 1 optimized page higher) I use a ton of tools but yet to find something that puts a value on quantity of CONTENT ONLY (Please don't respond with PA or DA because that encompasses all the inherit value)

How bad are poor link profiles for a website?
A client has recently switched to us for their SEO and is hugely concerned about their previous company's link building efforts. They say that they have recently removed over 300 links but OSE still lists 160 links. So three questions: How long will it take for OSE to recognise if the links have been removed? How great could the effects of this be on the site's rankings? If we continue to struggle with getting the links removed would Google's disavow tool make much of a difference or are there negatives that sould be considered first?

I recently moved my shopping cart from one provider to another and today moz only crawled one page, could this be because maybe google has not indexed it yet or should i be concerned? I pointed the DNS at the new cart monday night if that helps. I would have expected it to be indexed by now
