How do I get our company press release more traffic?
-
We current gained a Major University as a client, for private cable operations.
The boss would like a press release he made distributed. How would any of you go about this?
Paid and Non paid services please. ; )
Thanks all!

Wow! Thanks guys! These are all extremely helpful. I think I will start with a sprinkle of the @EGOL meanwhile running with the @Takeshi, and finishing with some of the @Francisco method!
Awesome feed back guys, I am so glad I can fall back on my SEO Mozer Clan!

hmmm... I think that there is a very fine line between announcing good news, thumping your chest until you cough and spamming everyone in your industry.
Lots of people send these types of announcements out to everyone in their industry and anyone anywhere who has ever had a contact with their business. Your boss might like this but it will really make him look like a spammer. Ninety-nine percent of these people don't give a hoot.
So, I would ask the boss who he really wants to reach and what message he wants conveyed to them.
Press releases are valuable when they reach a few of the very right people... and they are spam to just about everyone else. So instead of thinking "more traffic", think about "reaching the right people with the right message".
Know what you are trying to shoot and aim before firing.

If it's for a major university, then they will definitely have a university newspaper. When I was at UCLA, there was a whole department of journalist there. If I were you, I would hit them up and get a nice back link.

PRWeb is the best paid press release service I've used, and you can get a decent PR link out of it
If you're actually looking to get news coverage, go to the websites for all your local newspapers, and look for their e-mail contact for tip submissions. Write a customized press release tailored to them, and try to come up with an interesting angle that might get them to cover your story. The easier you can make it for the journalists, the more likely they'll bother to cover you.

Getting started with E-commerce sites
Happy new year, Mozzers We are about to take on our first E-commerce client which will be something new for us as we expand in 2014. Being a small outfit, we've never taken on a type of site like this before, which is great for new experiences and challenges. Do you have any advice, recommendations, suggestions, things to look out for etc, etc when working with E-commerce sites for the first time ever? thanks M

Difference between Organic and Natural Traffic?
This is a pretty basic question, but I'm wondering if there is any meaningful difference between the terms Organic and Natural traffic? My assumption is that Organic traffic refers to traffic that comes in through search engines, whereas Natural traffic would also include people directly entering a URL, coming in through social referrals, and through links on other sites in addition to organic search. Is this correct, or are there other definitions for what these terms mean?

Is it getting harder to sell SEO services?
Is it just me, or is it getting harder to sell SEO services? SEO costs more now and takes longer to achieve results There seem to be more good SEO agencies out there (gone are the days where the primary competition was offshore outsourcers and web design agencies) It seems that the number of agencies is growing faster than the number of companies buying services As online competition heats up, it takes more and more budget to really "win" in a market, but so few companies are willing to invest enough Any others notice similar trends? What will the future look like?

Email marketing - ready to get serious about this
Ok, I have my PILE of business cards from Chamber of Commerce meetings and different networking events I have attended. I have 8-10 blogs that are worth sharing on my website - www.sawwebmarketing.com (I realize that's a pathetically low number) I am committing to and excited about blogging MUCH more starting today! I have a huge list of ideas. I am adding a signup to my site and putting up a pop up to collect addresses. I have 15-18 clients that are paying me for ongoing seo / Internet marketing (or simply had my team build a new site for them) AND AN ACCOUNT WITH AWEBER I HAVE USED ONCE! 🙂 Where do I start!? Any advice? I want to start building a LIST of subscribers and grow my list by sharing great advice, strategies and tips to help people put their website to work. A) Send one email to EVERYBODY (ongoing clients, past clients, contacts who subscribe, website visitors, blog subscribers) or customize my messages for different groups? B) Put whatever I want to share on my blog and share it via social media AND send an email to my list inviting them to check out what I posted so I get the most bang for my time? (LINKS BABY!) I feel like an idiot I haven't got on this sooner but truly ANY ADVICE from somebody who has been there and done it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! 🙂 Thank you! I'm looking for a UK seo company, any recommendations?
I don't want to go into a massive amount of detail here. I need 100% whitehat link building services. Nothing shady! Anyone have some recommendations? Budget is about £500 a month.

What are some good organizations an SEO company can join that are strong trust signals?
We are working on a website redesign, and want to prominently include some trust signals that help people feel comfortable with us. We're including logos of a few places we've guest posted, and also the BBB and local chamber of commerce. Do you have any other ideas on logos we can include that are good trust signals? Any associations or organizations we could join? We are a trustworthy company, we just want a way to communicate that visually, and it seems organization seals and logos are the way to go. Thanks!
