Blog commenting still ok for 2013?
-
im trying to rank for some keywords but more importantly increase my Domain Authority its only a 15 and my Page Authority is 28 I need to increase those what would be a good way to start doing that. I do rank well for some keywords just not all
Any ideas to help me build links and become a more relevant source. We have TONS of content compared to our competitors
site name is www.greensidelawncare.com

I agree. The text is too over-optimized. It might scare customers aware because it is not so natural sounding.

and become a more relevant source
I think that you have optimized your pages beyond the point of relevance.
"Greenside Lawncare offers the following services: St. Charles Lawn Care, St. Peters Lawn Care, O’Fallon Lawn Care, Lake St. Louis Lawn Care, Wentzville Lawn Care, Chesterfield Lawn Care, and Maryland Heights Lawn Care."
If you rewrite in natural language your rankings might go up and your visitors might respond better to your website.
They know you are in the lawn care biz.

I'd say blog commenting is still ok, so long as you don't try to stuff your link and target anchor text in every comment possible. You should mix it up and try to start a conversation, and then maybe in your second reply, drop a link to your site.
Many blog comments are NoFollow anyways, so they won't pass much or any SEO juice along to your site. It might, however, attract visitors to you site.

Still possible to target keywords?
If you're a professional SEO and a client wants to target certain keywords, other than on-page tweaks what else is there? Or am I right in presuming there's nothing you can do off-page any more?

Blog Commenting, how to start?
Greetings Mozzers, I have read that interacting on blogs in a natural way is good for building relationships as well as earning links. This is what I'd like to do, however what is the best way to find blogs to start doing this for different industries? Google [industry blogs]? Go to competitors and look at their link profiles to see if there are blogs they are on? Whats a good way to start this method? All the advice/clarification would be outstanding!

Remove comments or leave them be?
We're finding a lot of comments that were posted by a previous company - they've been using a keyword as the comment name (UGH) and then the comments are usually generic, like "great information, will definitely be back to read more form you" - you guys know what I mean... Now, this site is ranking well and so are the keywords. My question is, should we work on removing those comments or just leave them be and now moving forward, use the proper process - since we are doing this ourselves now.

Should I remove links from my internal blog?
I have blogs/news sites on every one of my clients' websites (each representing a different business within the same industry - self storage). On each of these blog sites, I have a writer who places about 3-5 exact keyword match links (varying anchor text) to give interlink juice to the other off-site businesses owned by the client. Each of these blogs receive about five posts per week. I am sure this is mega-over-optimizing and a stupid thing to do considering penguin. So, my questions are: Moving forward - 1. Should i stop adding so many blog articles to each site? 2. How many interlinking anchor texts should I use per blog? 3. Should I go back and either get rid of all those interlinks on past blogs or just trash the blog articles altogether? Please help if you can - I very much appreciate the responses best bd

Guest Blogging
I am looking to get into guest blogging for our retail brick-and-mortar store to increase more local search traffic. 1. Any local SEO recommendations/tips you have? 2. Can you post the same article in multiple places? Or is this a huge no-no? 3. For local search, should we focus on article directories or guest blogs? Thanks in advance for your feedback, and sorry that it's a three-parter! 🙂

Guest Blogging
Hi there, Recently I have been using guest blogging as part as my link building strategy which is doing pretty well so far. Just a few question on this: Once I have managed to put a guest post on a blog, is there any SEO value in contributing to the same blog again? Kind Regards

Blog Roll Links - A good or bad thing ?
I Use Blog roll links all the time but recently they seem to be having a lower effect on listings. Is there a limit on Blog roll links you place on a blog. Internal blog roll links and external blog roll links. Also do you rename your blog roll to something such as popular links like we do ?
