Ecommerce SEO with 130 keywords
-
Hello everyone,
My name is Davys and I'm what you call a newbie...so the question may sound stupid....But where we go.
In this campaign I will be targeting around 130 to 150 keywords to my store. So here is the technical question.
What is the right way of indexing 150 keywords?
Should I attempt to have all 150 going to www.mysite.com or should I break it down into smaller pages if I can put it that way. Like www.mysite.com/pages/bikiniwax for example. Even if I break it down, what is the right amount of keywords that I should SEO per page? Or do 150 pages?
Please helppppppppppppppppppppp....
Thanks a lot for your help.

Just my experience here - unless you've got an already existing highly ranked site with massive amounts of content, your best bet is to limit assigning two or at most three highly related keywords to any single page. You can then include two or at most three secondary phrases to that page but where those additional phrases are only mentioned on the page - this all goes to support the primary phrases.
And you'll only be successful even with that work if all other optimization factors are implemented properly.
Another concept - don't worry about long tail phrases - if you write quality content unique to each page well enough, long tail phrases will take care of themselves. But at the same time, don't shoot initially for 1st page Google for the most competitive phrases in your market if your competitors have hundreds or thousands of well established pages. Find the balance.

Hello, you can be very difficult to optimize all keyword with only one page. What I suggest is that you have pages for each product type and obviously an optimized page for each product. The title, url, h1, h2 and h3, interfere much in the rankings primarily on long tails. First I suggest you sort your e-commerce categories, create an optimized page for each of these categories. And each product page should also be optimized.
Another good tip is you separate the sitemap for these categories in time to submit to Google webmaster tools, in tests I did, it indexes more quickly.
You must also link products to share the juice. When you start linkbuilding strategy, think of the home and also in those categories created. So you earn linkjuice at home and in the categories. Which in turn shares for the products.
Also be very careful about duplicate content, do not file the same product in different categories, if necessary, use canonical tag or 301 redirect, to always be only a product page.
I hope it help you.

I have one keyword which disappeared
My site currently ranks for over 2000 of which 92 are in the number 1 position. Im very active with this site. My Main keyword is a two word keyword ,I have never been below the position #30. Has always been at best 3rd and fourth page. I rank primarily for mostly 3 part keywords and 4 part keywords. However , I noticed about a month ago,The main keyword no longer showing up on serp tools .Moz included. At first i was getting wierd results using keyword tool .Not moz serp tool. I would get different result every time i checked it. When i tried to verify these results ,Only to find my site not at the projected page and rank. After more than a month now this particular keyword is no where in site. Im still getting traffic fom all the other keywords but im a bit confused over this. I thought my main keyword was about to be on the bottom of the 2nd page but instead seems to be completely gone.

Wordpress SEO for ecommerce store
I have been working on a wordpress ecommerce website and want to check that I am doing something correctly so hope someone can help. The Wordpress theme did not allow for an introductory content so the developer built a content page Instead to work as a front end category page so there was more flexibility. I have set the product categories to follow- no index and set the content page as the canonical version and optimised the content page.. question is - is that the right thing to do?

Badges & SEO
Hello, Moz Community! We're working on creating an affiliate badge for events that make our best-of list and we're wondering: if every event website embedded the badge (could be as many as 70), would having the same image hosting URL for each one raise concerns with Google? Thanks!

Do Letters With Accents Affect SEO?
Hi Guys, My company has a franchise of a foreign company that uses an accent/foreign letter in its brand name. We have to refer to this franchise with this symbol on our website to meet their standards. I've done some research on this but its not conclusive, so i was wondering whether anyone here can confirm this for me; Will using the letter with this symbol impair our rankings for this franchise name? Obviously as a UK business people search for this franchise with a regular letter and not the accented one. I would have thought that Google is clever enough to recognise the meaning of the accented letter by now and therefore it wouldn't affect rankings (much). Furthermore, do you think that it would make any difference to use the HTML element to represent the accent rather than copy and pasting the symbol onto our website? I would've thought this would help Google pick it up, but it might not make a difference anyway! Any help is appreciated. Thanks Sam

Migrating to New site keywords question
We are converting an old static html ecommerce site to a new platform. The old site has excellent ranking for some of the products. In order to maintain our ranking we will implement 301 redirects from old to new pages (as the urls will change to SEF). I am using Googles Keyword tool (in adwords) and entering each page url of the old site (there are hundreds, I'm doing the top 50 in traffic) and generating a set of keywords, then sorting each list by global searches. For each page, Google's Keyword Tool is giving me hundreds of keywords, but in meta tags there should be no more than 15, so I need a method to choose the keywords on the new page. Question: in the new meta tags should we emphasize the most common keywords (as defined by most global searches) or the least common keywords? I would hate to lose the good ranking for the least common (long tail) keywords.

All in One SEO weirdness
For some reason, I'm getting extra words in my title tags. For example, I wrote "Washing Machine Widgets | Acme Widgets, Inc. | Acme Widgets Inc. Anyone have any idea why I'm getting the extra " | Acme Widgets Inc."? Thanks!

SEO LINKS
New to S.E.O. so excuse my naivety. I have made lots of new links some of them paid for e.g. Best of the Web but I don’t see any change in the latest competitive link analysis. Some of the links we have been accepted for just do not show. Also the keywords we are trying to promote the most have disappeared off the radar for over 2 weeks now. I think we have followed the optimization suggestions correctly. Please could you enlighten me. Regards Paul www.curtainpolesemporium.co.uk
