Question about Google Search Results
-
I have a question regarding google search results.
I have a website www.911signalusa.com when you type this into google search box the URL comes up repeatedly. I have several competitors here is one of them www.emergencycity.com when you type in their name it only come up as the first result.
How did our SEO guys make this happen? I have another site tha when we type in the URL it only comes up as the first result.
However when you do site:www.------.com All of these site are indexed in Google.
It is not causing any problem we knoe of but it appears to me that our 1 site has it better? Or is it that maybe there are very minimal links to the site?
Thank you for your time and consideration in answering my quesiton.

Thank you for your valued responses. I will learn a lot here.
I apologize for the generic site:www.-----.com
I should have said site:911signalusa.com
This was my first post. Thank you for your time in responding to my question.

I think you made great points here. I believe someone told him that this was the SEO(s) doing something cool. - I am willing to be wrong.
I did like "May I ask you what kind of query did you use? I mean... www.------.com is not a logical query, is it?"Best

Hi!
I must admit that I am not sure if I have understood correctly your question...
So, you are saying that when you do a search with your domain name, you see Google presenting you all URLs from your site. That is normal, because Google is offering you exactly what you were looking for with that search: pages your site domain name. That means that Google presents you also pages from others sites than your, but which have your domain name present in their content.
In the case of your competitor, Google present a different kind of Search Result Page. In this version www.emergencycity.com appears as first and with six sitelinks. This is also normal and usually it is a good health signal, because it means that Google present it as an online entity and with a better organized snippet (home page + the 6 pages it considers are the most used thanks to its own knowledge base).
After that snippet, you see all sites that have your competitor's domain name in their content.
And now it comes the part that I did not understand:
However when you do site:www.------.com All of these site are indexed in Google.
May I ask you what kind of query did you use? I mean... www.------.com is not a logical query, is it?
Finally, with a very fast view on Open Site Explorer, your site and emergencycity.com seem almost identical, but - even if your site has a better Home Page Page Authority and a bunch of unique domain names linking than emergencycity.com, the DA (Domain Authority) of your competitors is higher, because it owns backlinks also for some of its internal pages. Personally I would suggest you to not limit the linking to your site only to the homepage, but also to other pages in order to have a better DA, a better link equity distribution and offering Googlebot more entrances for crawling your site.

Hello Scamper
Sorry, it's not some cool SEO trick. (At least does not appear so to me.) I believe it is due to two things: First, they have affiliates (publishers) that seem to be selling for them and by virtue of that putting content with their name on it on the web, and second, they seem to have done more link building with sites that publish. Now, if you want to test if your SEO team is doing this on purpose, try this: remove www as the sub domain and search on 911signalusa.com - you will get a different result. To see all your pages that are indexed on Google, put in Site:911signalusa.com.
I was just looking at basic content, etc. and the first thing I looked at was a dash light. I cracked up when read the product description: _We understand that sometimes, you just need that one compact dash light to add to your collection._OK, that proves it...cops can be wierd!
Hope that helps a bit,
Robert

Only The Google Plus URL Appearing In Organic Search (No Images or Info)
Just a quick one, when I search for my brand in Google I see my normal listing but the Google Plus URL is appearing on the right hand side as a link on it's own. I see that other brands have there company info pulled in here. Is there anything I can do to make it appear like other brands have it, (with the images, text, etc.)? Thanks,

Questions About Link Detox
Greetings: In April of 2014 an SEO firm ran a link removal campaign (identified spammy links and uploaded a disavow). The overall campaign was ineffective and MOZ domain rank has fallen to 24 from about 30 in the last year and traffic is 20% lower. I purchased a basic package for Link Detox and ran a report today (see enclosed) to see if toxic links could be contributing to our mediocre rankings. As a novice I have a few questions for you regarding this the use of Link Detox: -We scored a domain wide detox risk of 1,723. The site has referring root domains with 7113 links to our site. 121 links were classified as high audit priority. 56 as medium audit priority. 221 links were previously disavowed and we uploaded a spreadsheet containing the names of the previously disavowed links. We had LinkDetox include an analysis of no-follow links as they recommend this. Is our score really bad? If we remove the questionable links should we see some benefit in ranking? -Some of the links we disavowed last year are still linking to our site. Is it worthwhile to include those links again in our new disavow file? -Prior to filing a disavow we will request that Webmaster remove offending links. LinkDetox offers a package called Superhero for $469.00 that automates the process. Does this package effectively help with the entire process of writing and tracking the removal requests? Do you know of any other good alternatives? -A feature called "Boost" is included in the LinkDetox Super Hero package. It is suppose to expedite Google's processing of the disavow file. I was told by the staff at Link Detox that with Boost Google will process the disavow within a week. Do you have any idea if this claim is valid??? It would be great if it were true. -We never experienced any manual penalty from Google. Will uploading a disavow help us under the circumstances? Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it!!! "No index" page still shows in search results and paginated pages shows page 2 in results
I have "no index, follow" on some pages, which I set 2 weeks ago. Today I see one of these pages showing in Google Search Results. I am using rel=next prev on pages, yet Page 2 of a string of pages showed up in results before Page 1. What could be the issue?

Google + pages and SEO results...
Hi, Can anyone give me insight into how people are getting away with naming their business by the SEO search term, creating a BS Google + page, then having that page rank high in the search results. I am speaking specifically about the results you get when you Google: "Los Angeles DUI Lawyer". As you can see from my attached screenshot (I'm doing the search in Los Angeles), the FIRST listing is a Google + business. Strangely, the phone number listed doesn't actually take you to a DUI attorney, but rather to some marketing group that never answers the phone. Can anyone give me insight into why Google even allows this? I just find it odd that Google cares so much about the user experience, but have the first result be something completely misleading. I know it sounds like I'm just jealous (which I am, a little), but I find it disheartening that we work so hard on SEO, and someone takes the top spot with an obvious BS page. UupqBU9

Domain and Sitemap Question
Hi - I am hoping you can help me with this issue we are currently trying to solve. We are hosting our mobile site's content on a different domain than what the URL of the site is, though owned by same company. In Google Webmasters tool we have the mobile sitemap under "sitemaps.xyz.com", however the URL of the site is "m.xyz.com". We have submitted 60MM pages in the mobile sitemap, but only 1MM pages have been indexed. Do you think this set up causes confusion with the bots? Does this affect the crawlability of the site? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Google.ca vs Google.com Ranking
I have a site I would like to rank high for particular keywords in the Google.ca searches and don't particularly care about the Google.com searches (it's a Canadian service). I have logged into Google Webmaster Tools and targeted Canada. Currently my site is ranking on the third page for my desired keywords on Google.com, but is on the 20th page for Google.ca. Previously this change happened quite quickly -- within 4 weeks -- but it doesn't seem to be taking here (12 weeks out and counting). My optimization seems to be fine since I'm ranking well on Google.com: not sure why it's not translating to Google.ca. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

How do Google Site Search pages rank
We have started using Google Site Search (via an XML feed from Google) to power our search engines. So we have a whole load of pages we could link to of the format /search?q=keyword, and we are considering doing away with our more traditional category listing pages (e.g. /biology - not powered by GSS) which account for much of our current natural search landing pages. My question is would the GoogleBot treat these search pages any differently? My fear is it would somehow see them as duplicate search results and downgrade their links. However, since we are coding the XML from GSS into our own HTML format, it may not even be able to tell.
