301: Dynamic URL to Static Page
-
I've been going around trying to get this dynamic url to redirect in the .htaccess file. I know I'm missing something but can't figure it out.
Code:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^/dynamic-url.php?id=43$
RewriteRule ^$ http://static/page/url/inserted/here? [R=301,L]Suggestions?

Hi there,
If it's only that URL (not a group of URLs with a pattern to follow) that you need to 301-redirect then you can directly use:
RedirectMatch 301 /dynamic-url.php?id=43 http://www.yourdomain.com/static/page/url/inserted/here
If this is not the situation please let me know!
Thanks,
Aleyda

In that case try my rewrite, like this and escape your metacharacters like . / - etc..
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$
RewriteRule ^dynamic-url.php?id=43$ "http://static/page/url/inserted/here" [R=301,L]edited that I forgot to escape the - and . in dynamic-url.php
-
It is the first one unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working for me.

Ahh yes I know what you mean that way. I meant programatically. Are you going to go through all the urls and manually assign them a redirect or are you trying to do one rewrite for multiple urls?
If the first one you could just use the example I gave you and modify it.
Also only just noticed I see you haven't escaped your metacharacters. This an example from mine (not using dynamic urls):
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$
RewriteRule ^Old-Page.html$ "http://www.domain.com/New-Page.html" [R=301,L] -
I'm trying to take a dynamic url and redirect (301) it to a static url
dynamic: /dynamic-url.php?id=43
-
No sure exactly what you are trying to do...
this is something similar does it help? (from Stack Overflow)
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^route=product/category&path=35&page=([0-9]+)$
RewriteRule ^index.php$ /product/category/35/page_%1? [R=301,L]Adam

301 redirect with Magento; still Page authority 0 after 6 weeks
Hi Mozzers! In December '14 I have execute a 301 redirect in the 'old' page in the admin of my Magento store. Now I was surprised to see that the Page Authority is still 0 of the new page 6 weeks after the execution. should I have seen the update of the PA on the new page already after 6 weeks of time? If yes, then I assume that my Magento didn't execute this properly? Old url: http://hippemamashop.nl/mama/boeken/fotoalbum.html

Page disappeared from Google index. Google cache shows page is being redirected.
My URL is: http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/converse Hi. The week before last, my top Converse page went missing from the Google index. When I "fetch as Googlebot" I am able to get the page and "submit" it to the index. I have done this several times and still cannot get the page to show up. When I look at the Google cache of the page, it comes up with a different page. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/converse shows: http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/pop-in-olivia-kim Back story: As far as I know we have never redirected the Converse page to the Pop-In page. However the reverse may be true. We ran a Converse based Pop-In campaign but that used the Converse page and not the regular Pop-In page. Though the page comes back with a 200 status, it looks like Google thinks the page is being redirected. We were ranking #4 for "converse" - monthly searches = 550,000. My SEO traffic for the page has tanked since it has gone missing. Any help would be much appreciated. Stephan

Moving Some Content From Page A to Page B
Page A has written content, pictures, videos. The written content from Page A is being moved to Page B. When Google crawls the pages next time around will Page B receive the content credit? Will there not be any issues that this content originally belonged to Page A? Page A is not a page I want to rank for (just have great pictures and videos for users). Can I 301 redirect from Page A to B since the written content from A has been deleted or no need? Again, I intent to keep Page A live because good value for users to see pictures and videos.

After I 301 redirect duplicate pages to my rel=canonical page, do I need to add any tags or code to the non canonical pages?
I have many duplicate pages. Some pages have 2-3 duplicates. Most of which have Uppercase and Lowercase paths (generated by Microsoft IIS). Does this implementation of 301 and rel=canonical suffice? Or is there more I could do to optimize the passing of duplicate page link juice to the canonical. THANK YOU!

301 redirect all 404 pages
Hi I would like to have a second opinion on this. I am working on an ecommerce website that they 301 redirect all 404 pages (including the URLs entered incorrectly) to the “All categories page”. Will this have any negative SEO impact?

Deep Page Link - url no longer exists
I used Open Site Explorer and found a link to our site on http://www.business.com/guides/bedding-supplies-3639/ The link was setup to go to an important, deep page on my website, but the structure of our urls changed and the url no longer exists. The link (anchor text 'National Hospitality Supply') does direct to our homepage, www.nathosp.com. My question is, am I receiving full link juice? Or would I be better served to create a 301 redirect to the revised / new page url? In case it matters, if I had my choice I'd prefer the link to go to the intended deep page. Thanks in advance for your insight. -Josh Fulfer
