How to exclude a specific subdomain from SEOMoz Campaign?
-
Forgive me if I've overlooked something obvious, but how can I exclude a subdomain from a campaign? I want to crawl/analyze mywebsite.com, but not subdomain.mywebsite.com
Thanks in advance...
-
We're curious as well. This would be a feature that we would like to see.
-
Has this option been enabled as of yet? to change?
-
Hi there Aaron,
Thanks for the question, at this point we do not have that feature built into the campaign feature. We are hoping to add that to a future version of the tool, however we don't have a firm ETA. If you like to be kept in the loop you could subscribe to us on our FB page or our Twitter @SEOmoz

I have an existing campaign setup, is there a way to change it to only the root domain at this point?
-
Hey Aaron,
An other option would be dependent on how the site is setup. If you want to block the one subdomain and everything else exists on another, you could set your campaign up as a subdomain campaign for the one you want to crawl.
The downside is that if the site is spread among several subdomains you want to crawl you won't get everything.
I hope that works out for you.
Cheers,
Joel. -
Thanks Joel. Unfortunately this particular subdomain is a CNAME to a hosted service where I don't have the ability to update a robots.txt file. Are there any other options?
-
Hey Aaron,
Thanks for the question!
The way to do that would be to actually set a robots.txt file under that subdomain and block the user-agent: RogerBot with a Disallow: /That will let our crawler run loose in your site without touching that subdomain.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
Cheers,
Joel. -
Hi there,
On the campaign setup, you are given 3 options there:
subdomain, root domain and subfolder.
Try to change the setting to root domain so that only the mywebsite.com will be crawled and analyzed.
Hope that helps!

Why seomoz crawler does not see my snapshot?
I have a web app that uses angularJS and the content is all dynamic (SPA). I have generated snapshots for the pages and write a rule to redirect ( 301) to the snapshot in case of find escaped_fragment in the URL. E.g http://plure.com/#!/imoveis/venda/rj/rio-de-janeiro Request: http://plure.com/?escaped_fragment=/imoveis/venda/rj/rio-de-janeiro is redirected to: http://plure.com/snapshots/imoveis/venda/rj/rio-de-janeiro/ The snapshot is a headless page generated by PhantomJS. Even following the guideline ( https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/docs/specification) I still can't see my page crawled and I also in SEOMoz I can only see the 1st page crawled with no dynamic content on it. Am I doing something wrong? SEOMoz was supposed to get the snapshot based on same rules of GoogleBot or SEOMoz does not get snapshots?

SEOmoz Report: Competitive Domain Analysis
Hi there, According to SEOmoz Dashboard's Competitive Domain Analysis, the 'Total Links' for our domain shot up (more than quatripled) in the last few weeks. We haven't really done much link building in over 6 months so not sure how to explain this. Did SEOmoz make updates to their bots? Could it be that the bots are finding all these links only now? We've been using SEOmoz reporting for almost a year now, and I've never seen this before. Some insight / explanation for this would be great. Thanks in advance,

Why did SEOMoz only crawl 1 page?
I have multiple campaigns and on a few of them SEOMoz has only crawled one page. I think this may have to do with how I set up the campaign. How do I get SEOMoz to crawl more than one page on these campaigns.

Why does it take so long for SeoMoz to update data?
I changed the Anchor Text of 4 40/100 MozRank sites 2 months ago, yet SeoMoz still shows the old Anchor text in the reports. Why is this taking so long? I also notice my inbound domains hasn't increased nor has my MozRank in 3-4 weeks. What's the turnaround?

Seomoz on-page analysis, how strict to be
Hello, In a competitive niche, how important is it to be strict with the seomoz on-page analysis? If it gives a page/keyword an A, am I good to go? Or do I need to be more strict in that. We've had some competition move above us and we want to make sure we're on-site optimized well. site: nlpca(dot)com Thanks.

Google analytics sync with SEOMOZ
Hey guys, I'm looking to sync our clients google analytic profiles to our clients campaigns in SEO MOZ. However all our clients google analytic profiles are on the one google account and not separate accounts. So I'm asking does SEO MOZ only allow you to grab the traffic data of one clients profile from a google account instead of multiple profiles from the same google account for different campaigns? If so has anybody got a workaround or any suggestions? If I haven't explained myself clearly let me know and I'll break it down further. Thanks again. Rob

Canonical tags and SEOmoz crawls
Hi there. Recently, we've made some changes to http://www.gear-zone.co.uk/ to implement canonical tags to some dynamically generated pages to stop duplicate content issues. Previously, these were blocked with robots.txt. In Webmaster Tools, everything looks great - pages crawled has shot up, and overall traffic and sales has seen a positive increase. However the SEOmoz crawl report is now showing a huge increase in duplicate content issues. What I'd like to know is whether SEOmoz registers a canonical tag as preventing a piece of duplicate content, or just adds to it the notices report. That is, if I have 10 pages of duplicate content all with correct canonical tags, will I still see 10 errors in the crawl, but also 10 notices showing a canonical has been found? Or, should it be 0 duplicate content errors, but 10 notices of canonicals? I know it's a small point, but it could potentially have a big difference. Thanks!
