Difference between SEOmoz Pro and Mozscape API
-
Hi,
I probably put this question in a wrong category, so I'd like to ask again.
I am new in SEOmoz and writing this from Japan.
I have couple of questions and really appriciate if you can help me to understand SEOmoz. better.First of all, what is the difference between SEOmoz Pro and Mozscape API?
I signed up for 30days free trial and now continue being $99 PROmember.
Is that correct that rate limit is one request every 2 seconds with PRO?and also want to know about free API that I found after signed up for PRO.
Is there any restrictions on free API except for rate limit is one request every 10 seconds? The main reason I signed up for SEOmoz was to use the API link metrics, and because of the language I got really confused now.

understand. But there are some advanced people who want both . Just follow your competitor. I need both Because of issue and limitation. example you have a system only possible to see up to 10k backlink . But if I need 100k backlink analysis what I can do. also cost too high. No sense with 500$. how its possible majestic only charge 50$ provide us all everything including api access with 5 million backlink. I believe both will be same product in your seo moz. If you survey you will se most people use your competitor link metrics because reasonable and high. as a millionaire company seo experienced I see that how they sell the product. If you test it for few days you will see the response. Thousand of people serious interested your product also use seo moz product improve your sales. Most people want to use both link metrics for serious research.

They are different products, and different types of people want each product, so we have separate plans. There are people who only have the API and do not use Pro, and many people who use Pro who have no need for the API.
-
Thats is my question why pro membership and api seperate.
Paid access to Mozscape is separate from PRO membership.
We will get the access the api until pro membership expire.

Was the period at the end accidentally included? Try:

Hi! We have more information on this at http://apiwiki.moz.com/free-vs-paid-access.
-
But
I believe seo moz give us api access free for pro user. please look your competitor such as majestic seo. if we their membership receive free api use ability. So if seo moz do it . Its helpful for us no need extra more payment. its not realistic a seo moz pro membership don't have access to their api even after pay 99$ per month.I hope seo moz will give us free access with api. atleast for seo moz pro user.

Thanks Martijn.
It helped me to understand more about the difference between those. -
Hi Shinya,
Let me try to help you out, hopefully if I say something wrong the Moz staff will correct me. The difference between SEOmoz Pro and the Mozscape API is that the API only covers details about the data you see in Open Site Explorer. As it's an API it will provide you with raw data.
The SEOMoz Pro campaigns will give you via dashboards insights in how your pages are marked up with the right code for search engines.
You're right about the rate limit of requesting every 2 seconds. There's a difference for the API besides the difference in rate limits for paying customers. You won't get acces to some parts of the API for retrieving metrics. You can find a complete overview of the methods you can request over here.
Hope this helps!

Thoughts on scraping SERPs and APIs
I'm perplexed about a couple of things. Google says that scraping keyword rankings is against their policy from what I've read. Bummer. We comprise a lot of reports and manual finding and entry was a pain. Enter Moz! We still manually check and compare, but it's nice having that tool. I'm confused now though about practices and getting SERPs in an automated way. Here are my questions Is it against policy to get SERPs from an automated method? If that is the case, isn't Moz breaking this policy with it's awesome keyword tracker? If it's not, and we wanted to grab that kind of data, how would we do it? Right now, Moz's API doesn't offer this data. I thought Raven Tools at one point offered this, but they don't now from what I've read. Are there any APIs out there that we can grab this data and do what we want with it? (let's day build our own dashboard)? Thanks for any clarification and input!

Domain_to_domain api call syntax
I am trying to construct an api call that lists the top authority link from each domain. This page_to_page call works http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape/links/www.jbwebanalytics.com?SourceCols=4&TargetCols=4&Scope=page_to_page&Limit=400&AccessID=membexxx&Expires=xxx&Signature=xxx This domain_to_domain does not http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape/links/www.jbwebanalytics.com?&Scope=domain_to_domain&Limit=400&AccessID=member-xxx1&Expires=xxx&Signature=xxx I'm plum out of ideas why? Anyone know? The Idea output is the single highest authority link for all linking domains thanks! Brian

How does SEOmoz pull its duplicate page title and content information?
I ask because I am getting errors based on URLs that do not even exist on our site. For example: http://www.robots.com/applications/abb/panasonic/robots this URL does not even exist for our site, but somehow it is listed in the error section of page title duplication tool. http://www.robots.com/applications/ exists, but there is no place to get to an ABB or a Panasonic robot from this page, not to mention an ABB/Panasonic (which for sure does not exist). ?? We have quite a few of these out there and just wondering how to find out where the link is coming from. When we checked our URLs through Integrity, links like the one listed above (which we had 29 of them listed) that do not show up. Thoughts? Thanks! Janelle

SEOMOZ Crawl Test
Guys I really have an issue that i know have but cannot see if that makes sense. Basically 3 months ago i did a site wide 301 from economyleasinguk.co.uk to www.economy-car-leasing.co.uk Every thing looks good get all the correct header responses , all canonicals work perfectly , Google webmaster tools is updated fetch as google bot shows the old site is 301 I tried the seomoz crawl test today on the old domain and got this message Oh no! Looks like the page you were trying to access is temporarily down which at first thought ok because the site was not there it wont do it on an old 301 domain, however i tried it on a domain i know has just been 301'd and i got this message The URL http://www.site1.com/ redirects to http://site2.com/. Do you want to crawl http://site2.com/ instead?
Moz Pro | | kellymandingo
Would you like to:
Continue with www.site1.com
Continue with site2.com I really do not know what to do, its either the redirect script is missing something however its doing what it should or the server is a problem but again its doing what it should so why would SEOMOZ not be able to crawl the old URL like it example site above. Now the strange thing is Open Site Explorer does see the 301 and asks if i want to check the new URL instead Ps the redirect is done using PHP redirect which i am asking him to change to a htaccess as its now on a apache server and was wondering if this could be an issue, all pages go to correct pages as requested Thanks in Advance1 -
SEOMoz reports and 404 errors
My SEOMoz report shows a 404 error, found today for this url: http://globalheavyhaul.com/google.com i do not have this anchor text anywhere on my website. How did Roger figure out that somebody looked for that page? Do I need to worry about 404 errors that are the result of user mistakes, instead of actual bad links?

SEOMoz Link Analysis Not Updating?
Hi there, I am wondering why the Link Analysis in SEOMoz takes so long to recognise new back-links. I have had the same figures showing for months when I know that I have added a lot more backlinks that are showing in my Google WebMaster account and I have also proven exist by searching directly in Google's search engine. How often does the Link Analysis section update itself? Are these figures worth following at all or are they useless? Thanks!

FF SEOMoz toolbar issue
I sent the email below to help@seomoz.org on the 12th April and haven't heard anything back so thought I'd fire it up here in case someone has a solution for me... "For the past month or so I've had an issue in Firefox where my SEOmoz toolbar appears to not sign me in, or allow me to sign in. All metrics are 0 for all websites/pages and if I click the login button, nothing happens at all. If I click the Quick Links button the drop down menu appears but whichever option from the drop down I choose, nothing happens. I'm funning Firefox 11.0 and have attached a screen grab of the bar as it appears no matter where I browse.

Do you have any suggestions how I can get it working again? It works fine in Chrome but I primarily use Firefox..." UNRMw.jpg0 -
Seomoz suggetions implemented but keyword rankings dropping.
We have been with SEOMOZ for just a couple of weeks now. We impemented all the recommendations made in page analysis and crawl errors but since making changes we have started to fall in ranking for these keywords. Should we undo all his work or sit it out. Why would our rankings fall if these changes are for the better ? Thanks
