Finding Resources for Content Marketing with a Difference?
-
We have been creating written content for a client over the last year with great success. Locating websites across the internet to publish our articles was not difficult, just a little time consuming.
Now we have decided to take this a step further by creating a comic strip for the same client. The only problem is, we are having great difficulty finding a site that would be suitable for publishing this content.
Its not an infographic, or slideshow, or video and its not a written article.
The usual search operators are no good as this is our first attempt and REAL comic geeks are so serious about the art im scared we'd be pulled apart.
Does anyone know of any resources which would publish this type of visual content?
Thanks for your help!
Hayley

Thanks Oliver. That first article is the kind of advice i was looking for!Funnily enough, i did have the slideshare idea, and think that will be a great secondary strategy to get the most from the content and a way to market the original content.
George, this is what my gut instinct is telling me to do. It makes sense and if it works we can turn it into a series. If i choose to do this, do you feel we should provide an embed code like we would with an infographic? If so, any idea what would be the best practice for the backlink?
EGOL, yeah...I kinda got a bit over excited about the idea. But now i have a list of comic sites that publish im feeling inspired to try this again in a more serious manner. And ive learned a valuable lesson.
Cheers everyone!

If I was doing this, I would find the site where I wanted visibility FIRST.
Then create content that would kickass for them.
Pick where you want to be visible for the best results.
Begin with the end in mind.

Hi Hayley
I'm not sure if this is of any help:

or this one

Have you thought about putting it into a Powerpoint and hosting it through Slideshare?
Hope you are able to find the right place for the comic - it sounds like a really interesting idea!

In my opinion, something like a comic strip where I am going into it knowing I will be investing significant time or resources to it, I would publish it on my own website and use social media to push it out to the people who have already shown interest in my stuff. You are far more likely to gain a positive response from these people, who might in turn share and publish it on their own.
Out of curiosity, what is the subject matter of the strip?
Also, love the creativity!

Google Carousel - What Should We Now Be Doing Differently?
Google Carousel is rolling out for even more topics. How does it affect or change tracking in Google Analytics? For example, if I am in the Carousel and someone clicks my listing, then Google completes a search for my property… then the searcher clicks through to my site organically. Will I know that someone originally clicked the Carousel or will I have no idea and simply see a Google organic click? Should we be optimizing our Google+ Places listings differently? How does this change our own organic keyword targeting? In other words, if I am in the Carousel should I go after a different keyword organically? Does anyone know how many people are clicking into the Carousel vs. the organic listings or even pay per click below? Searchers behavior will be altered because of this change. What say you all? I understand that in addition to video sitemaps, a transcription of a video, if presented properly will help google and may help SEO. I cannot find information on the basics to add transcription properly to a page. Advice or direction appreciated.
Looking for guidance or information on the nuts and bolts of how to use transcriptions with video.

If you use a non-landline number e.g 0330 or 0845 etc does this affect your position within google places? Is it better to use a local number e.g 0208 (uk) And if you use a local number for your google places account but have a different number on your website will this have a negative effect?

Local Search - New Business - 4 different Erroneous, Unverified Google Places Pages
My client is a new business <1 year old. Google has 4 unverified places pages for this business - all have slight errors in the business name and address. Which one should I claim? Will Google let me change the business name once I verify ownership? How will I get rid of the other listings once I claim and correct one of them? In light of these data errors and/or as a general rule do you recommend the paid submission services for UBL and Localeze (http://getlisted.org/resources/why-listing-services.aspx)? Thanks for the help! Jeff
