Blogger or Wordpress?
-
Which one should i use to start my blog on my own domain name?
-
I've got to agree - use WordPress!
-
Use Wordpress, and wordpress.org, not just wordpress.com with your own domain name. With wordpress.org you'll own and host and control the content and can implement 301s and whatever else is needed. You have freedom and options you don't get when it's hosted elsewhere.

Agreed with the majority here. Wordpress. I have two blogs on there currently and think it's super simple with plenty of awesome plug-ins.
-
An alternative response, just for the hell of it - I have recently seen examples of Google giving a massive boost to blogspot
http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=curly+hair+images
I trawled through a number of hair related queries and there is a massive over representation of blogspot sites appearing high in image search
If your doing images, Id give it a try

ja - wordpress- so many and usefull plugins!
-
I'll add a vote for Wordpress. I love it.
-
+1 Wordpress.
-
Based on reputation and a limited amount of feedback, I would suggest using your own domain name.
Before making your decision, try Google: "Dont use blogger" and "Dont use wordpress".
Of course there are plenty of people who use each service and are quite happy. Since you are asking the question, you probably want to hear about a few negative experiences so you can make the right decisions.

I have used both and Wordpress is by far the best. Lots of great plug-ins. Very versatile and customizable. A little harder to install and customize but there are lots of capable people who can help you for a fee.
-
Wordpress - you can't beat it for most websites.

What Is The Best Way To Attract Guest Bloggers
Hi, i am trying to find a way to attract guest bloggers for my site. We are looking for people to be a guest blogger on items such as gadgets, business, finance, marketing and so on, but i am not sure what is the best way to attract people. Any advice on the best way to attract guest bloggers would be great and advice if we should give them more than one link. Would love to hear from people who have been a guest blogger to find out what they would want. It has been suggested to me that a guest blogger gets one link and if they require two then they must link bac. looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

What are the best widgets to use on Wordpress? And what is most useful on Wordpress for content syndication?
We are in the process of researching the best plugins and widgets for our clients' blogs. It appears that SEO by Yoast is most popular for 2013 so far. Any recommendations on which widgets we should be using or plugins for content syndication? If we use something like the Jetpack plugin, would this do the trick?

How long before I can see those links show up in SEO Moz for my website? What elements is SEO Moz looking for before they add the wordpress site to my linking domains report? Regards, Jeff

Wordpress post templates
Hi everyone! What I need is a way in Wordpress for the author to select a category for their post, and then have a template come up with some fields in addition to just the large field where you write your post, where the author can add some additional information. Then on the final post, have that information added to the top in some format that I (as the admin) can control. What I'm doing is setting up an internal company blog so our employees can have more visibility across teams. Some categories of posts will always include the same information, like release numbers, conference attendance, yes/no conclusions, among other information. If there's a plug-in for this, free or not, that would be great! If you can't tell I'm a Wordpress noob... so please bear with me. 🙂

Meta Title and Description Placement in Wordpress
I noticed in wordpress code that the <title>and <description> are not at the top of the code and rather located a ways down the code and not displayed how previous sites used to be.</p> <p>Does this still matter for SEO.</p> <p>I thought it should have been,</p> <div id="syn_row5" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span><span class="HTML_TAG"></<span class="HTML_ELM">title</span>></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_ROW"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Description"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> <div id="syn_row6" class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><<span class="HTML_ELM">meta</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">name</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">"Keywords"</span> <span class="HTML_ATR">content</span>=<span class="HTML_VAL">""</span> /> (if still needed ?)</span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"> </span></span></span></span></div> <div class="SYN_TXT"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG"><span class="HTML_TXT"><span class="HTML_TAG">Is there a way to do this in Wordpress? What plugins & tactics are you using for Wordpress meta SEO?
Currently I use All-In-One SEO and I quite like how simple it is to setup and it's stable. Is that still one of the best ones? What are you using these days? Is it worth stripping out the superfluous meta tags that Wordpress now puts in? Is there any value to adding meta descriptions to all my Tag pages and if so, is there a good plugin that will auto magically create unique descriptions for these pages? Same goes for my paginated archives. Thanks!

What are the best reasons not to use Wordpress as a CMS?
I'm a big fan of Wordpress (.org) as a content management system. However, I recognize that Wordpress isn't necessarily the best CMS for all ocassions. For those of you who don't like Wordpress, I'm interested in understanding your strongest reasons against. So, why not Wordpress?
