Is there any way around being able to set up 20 goals in Analytics? What if one of my clients want to set up 10 pages with separate actions to track on each page. Will then each actions count as a separate goal? If this is the case, how could I work around creating more than 20 goals? Would I have to look into hiring/buying a third party or separate software?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi!
Yes, it is possible to edit a goal after i has been set up.
-
I do have another question, I see that you can edit a goal. Is it possible to edit the goal with a new action to track?
-
Great thank you
This will help me to be prepared if questions arise from that client. I want to be able to explore different avenues if one suggestion doesn't work.
I appreciate your help.

Honestly, my first suggestion would be to follow Jen's advice in creating another profile within the same Google Analytics account to get access to 20 more goals. You could create a profile for each specific section of the site and/or specific kinds of conversions you are tracking.
Another option would be to use Event Tracking rather than using goals in this scenario. Check out https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/eventTrackerGuide for more info.

Thank you
Are there any that you would recommend assuming that I I want track form submissions, downloads, etc...? Can analytics be integrated into the separate tools?
-
Google Analytics Premium is the paid option and it only costs a cool $150,000 a year. There are other conversion tracking tools out there that are free/much cheaper, but it depends on what kinds of things you want to track (ecommerce, phone calls, form submissions, newsletter signups, etc).
-
Thank you
I appreciate your help and feedback.
-
I believe you get more goal spots in the premium version. You can have as many profiles as you want in GA without any issues.
-
Thank you Jenn -
So I would have to create a new account (duplicating the profile) using the same information as the original. You say "free", are there paid options? Duplicating the account will not skew any metrics?
-
The only "free" way around the 20, is to simply duplicate the profile and you have 20 new goal spaces in the new duplicated profile.

Google Analytics Stopped Tracking Visits - NEED HELP!
Hi Moz Community, I have about 10 sites, static HTML sites and WordPress sites, which ALL stopped tracking Google Analytics on August 2nd. They go to a flat-line! Dead! No data! Has anyone else experienced this either currently or before? I have confirmed all code is correct as it's been tracking these sites for years. One site gets 5,000+ visits a month and they are sitting at only 1,500 now and will be a fun conversation to have with the client. If all code is correct, what should I do? How do I overcome this without having to re-create another account/tracking ID? Never dealt with something like this before and there is not much on the web or in other forums. Would appreciate any help or advice or tips! - Patrick

Regular Expressions in Google Analytics
Hi All I've been struggling to create a regular expression for a Google Analytics goal step that would match the following: ^/specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring/
Reporting & Analytics | | Cabbagefeet
^/specifictextstring/anytextstring/ However I don't want it to match any URLs that end with: /anytextstring**_**phonecall or /phonecall, for example: /specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring**phonecall
/specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring**phonecall
/specifictextstring/anytextstring/anytextstring/phonecall
/specifictextstring/anytextstring/phonecall Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for all contributions.0 -

Does anyone know if I can 'change the domain' in GA so we don't lose our past data?

Google Analytics: Multi channel funnel
Hi 🙂 I have a little problem. In Multi-channel Funnel Overview I see 50 conversions from Paid Search (screenshot 1). But when I click on Assisted Conversion and then choose Paid Search, I see 31 Assisted Conversions and 32 Last Interaction Conversion. (screenshot 2) So my question is - why the number of converstions in overview (50) is different than number in Assisted Conversions (assisted or last interaction conversion, or both together)? Probably, the answer is so simply, but I can found out it! 🙂 thanks a lot. X6UihL7.png lCNsw4T.png

Google Analytics Tracking Code Queries
Hello, I have taken on a new client who has Google Analytics installed. The tracking code is set to 'single domain'. Recently they added a mobile site using a sub-domain (m.website.com) which means that Google Analytics is not picking up this traffic. I want to revise the account so that I have a master account (raw data) and then profiles for the mobile site, main domain (www.website.com) and one other for a sub-domain that they are using. I am aware that there is mobile specific tracking code however I thought it would be easier (re conversions/goals/eCommerce tracking) to not use this and by changing the account to 'multiple domains' we could also get data for another sub-domain that they are using . My questions are: Am I right to want to use individual profiles over web properties. If not please explain why. When installing the tracking code (where the profile number is changing) I believe that I need to add that code with the changing profile number to the sub-domain sections. So my question is a) is that correct, and b) if I use a profile number on a sub-domain section will the master account still gather the data for the main URL as well as all sub-domains. If I change the master account from using 'single domain' tracking code to 'multiple domain' tracking code will this affect historical data? Will I lose the data? When changing from 'single domain' tracking to 'multiple domain' tracking does this affect eCommerce tracking? Or do we only need to be adding the additional lines of tracking code that allow sub-domains to be tracked? The web developers are using asynchronous code however half is in the and the other half is at the bottom of the source code. Given that traffic is being reported in the Google Analytics account should I have any concerns that the code is split? I have done a lot of reading but seem to be going around in circles, so your help is much appreciated! Thanks,

Set up Google Analytics by product category
Does anyone know if it's possible to set up Google Analytics data by product category? We sell roughly twenty product categories on our ecommerce site. We can look at our analytics performance for the site overall and drill down to specific pages, but what we really want to see is our performance by product category. Our product categories can include up to 5000 products. Any pointers on how to do this?

Google Analytics Reports
Hi all , I do not have the skill and time to look into Google Analytics to derive actionable conclusion and inferences. I would like to outsource this activity , just like I outsource link building. But not sure how... Any guidance ?

Has Anyone Else Noticed A Jump In Google Analytics Traffic Since Session Parameters Were Changed?
Ever since Google Analytics changed their session parameters August 12th I have seen a 20% jump in organic traffic & bounce rates along with a decline in pages/visit and conversion rate. To be clear, I don't put a whole heck of a lot of stock in these metrics as stand-alone indications of how my site is performing. I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this blip. I noticed some other people mentioned a similar phenomenon in other SEO forums and blog comments, but nobody seems to be talking about this here at SEOMoz (unless I just haven't looked in the right place). I'm not saying the change I noticed has anything to do with the session update, I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar so that I can either cross it off the list of possible causes or explore further.
