Crawl results on keyword rankings differ from actual search rankings
-
For the second week in a row, the weekly keyword rankings in my MOZ account show "not in top 50" for most keywords. However, when I check some of my rankings I still broadly have the rankings that I used to have. It seems that the MOZ crawl is experiencing some difficulties.
Does anyone have suggestions how to find out what's going on? If I can't rely on the crawl outcomes, then the tool is not very useful anymore!

Hey Mathijs,
Thanks for writing in and sorry you're getting this problem. I am going to try to answer this without including your specific domain information in the public forum.
It looks like this is happening because your campaign is based on the "subdomain" www.EXAMPLE.com instead of the full root domain EXAMPLE.com. Since the campaign is set up for www subdomain, we can only crawl pages with the www prefix in the URL and we will only search the rankings for pages in the domain that include the www prefix, but www.EXAMPLE.com redirects to EXAMPLE.com so we aren't able to crawl past the redirect. Also, EXAMPLE.com is what is ranking in the engines, and is where all of the pages are hosted, so you're not getting results on those pages or rankings. Instead, you're getting information based on only the pages and rankings that are connected to www.EXAMPLE.com.
Unfortunately, the only way to solve this is to start up a new campaign based on the full root domain, EXAMPLE.com. After you set everything up in that campaign, you should begin to get crawl data within three to seven days, and everything should be peachy-keen! You'll have a plethora of data that you weren't getting before on the www.EXAMPLE.com subdomain.
I hope this clears things up. If you need further clarification with specific examples, please let me know. Also, if you prefer to keep your domain name private you and also email us at help@moz.com.

What search engines does SEOMoz pull the SERP data from on the keyword analysis report?
I did a Google search and I noticed that some of the rankings that pulled up did not match the SEOmoz top 1-10 competitors. I was sure not to include personal results. I was completely signed out of my Google account. Another one of the SEO tools showed the same result as when I did the Google search, completely different from SEOmoz's report. I am curious to know where the data comes from, so I can accurately compare/ contrast the varying results.

Why does SEO Moz say we are ranked lower than appears on Google Searches?
We are currently ranked 18th for the Sydney Vet keyword in SEO Moz ranking tools, however in organic Google search we are ranked third. This search was conducted without Googles personalised results feature. Is this just an error? Or does it have something to do with Google Places not being counted in SEO Moz ranking tools? Any help would be much appreciated.

Drastic Difference between Ranking in Seomoz Keyword Ranking and non-personalized Google US Search
Hi everybody, for some of our keywords we saw a huge drop in ranking in the Seomoz Dashboard, yet when performing a non-personalized Google US search we still hold our old positions. Now, I am worried whether this is an upcoming Google penalty or just some bug in the latest crawl. Did anybody ever experience something similar and how could we find out if we were indeed penalized by Google (as we did some major linkbuilding campaign for these keywords recently)? Cheers and a major thanks for your suggestions, Tobias

Why does my crawl report show just one page result?
I just ran a crawl report on my site: http://dozoco.com The result report shows results for just one page - the home page, but no other pages. The report doesn't indicate any errors or "do not follows" so I'm unclear on the issue, although I suspect user error - mine.

Exporting keywords from PRO?
I would like to export the keywords from all of my campaigns but I can't find anywhere to do that. I don't need data, just the keywords. I want to do an audit and refresh of what I am tracking and excel would be quickest. Thanks!

How to see rankings for a group of keywords over time?
I have around 1200 keywords in an seomoz campaign, chopped into various groups using labels. I am interested in tracking how keywords perform over time, especially groups of keywords. As far as I can tell, in the seomoz tools I can only see historical performance for a single keyword at a time. Is there a way to get a historical performance graph of more than one keyword at once? We often run optimizations for sets of words, so it seems like you would have better stats looking at groups of words vs picking one at a time. Is there a way to export historical data for more than keyword at a time? (So I could graph and analyze this sort of thing myself) Does anyone have other suggestions for tracking rankings in this way? Thanks for any help!
