Crawl Rate for Lower Page Authority Websites
-
Hi,At thumbtack.com we get tons of links from low (or no) page authority websites, and I'm wondering what the crawl rate of those links looks like. I know Google pulls in the web at an astonishing rate, but I'd imagine they aren't re-crawling lower PA very frequently. Are they discovering these links a week after they're posted? A month? More? I spent a while looking around for histograms of actual crawl rates and found surprisingly little. I'd love to see average crawl rate by Domain or Page Authority if that exists anywhere.
Thanks!-MichaelP.S. Here are some random examples of the types of pages with inbound links I'm talking about. Normally we wouldn't spend too much time thinking about these, but there's just so many of them we can't ignore it!- http://www.majestic-cleaners.webs.com/- http://domchieraphotography.blogspot.com/- http://charlottepiano.musicteachershelper.com/- http://pin-upgirlphotography.vpweb.com/default.html- http://jfaithful.weebly.com/ -
I have a site that is 4 months old. Prior to today the site had a domain authority of 0, and the home page had a PA of 1. I submitted a daily sitemap and the site was crawled daily. If I ever shared an important article I would submit an extra site map and noticed the content in the search results within a couple hours. This is an active, forum based site.
I have heard others complain their site is crawled very infrequently. I am not sure if Google treated my site well because it was newer, or had good content, or decent activity. I can just share my experience that the site was crawled quite frequently.
Just checking the first site, it has only a few pages. It was designed by a basic site creation software and seems crawlable. Just small sites (around 10 pages) don't change frequently so they don't get crawled often. If the site owner doesn't submit a sitemap letting Google know a change has been made, it may be some time before Google decides to crawl them or finds a link to their site.

How best can I change my domain name and keep my domain authority and page authority.
I've recently changed domain names and my old domain was a DA42 and now I am at a DA22. Everything has 301 redirects. Any advice would be appreciated.

Duplicate Content: Marketing Page / Content Page
So I am getting duplicate content warnings on my website for my pages white paper and webinar video pages. Each white paper / webinar video page is behind a marketing form page that must be filled out. I am getting a lot of warnings that the marketing page and the content page are being picked up as duplicated content. In the past, both the marketing page and the content page were given the same title and url, the body content is not similar. My question: Is the URL / Title similarity enough to set off the duplicate content warnings and would changing one or the other solve the issue?

Why would I be ranking for a term when it's not anywhere in my page or pages linking to it?
Hi, I have a keyword that's not anywhere in my page in page-grade tool nor are any pages linking to it with that term, why would that be ranking. The term is "dynamic card solution" This is a company we used to have 5 years ago and merged with our company. This term is ranking #1 for this page- http://www.datacard.com/instant-issuance-solutions . I can't figure why that would be even as this is a newer page in the past year. Thanks for any insight as I'm newer to moz. Laura

Crawl report - duplicate page title/content issue
When the crawl report is finished, it is saying that there are duplicate content/page titles issues. However there is a canonical tag that is formatted correctly so just wondered if this was a bug or if anyone else was having the same issues? For example, I'm getting a error warning for this page http://www.thegreatgiftcompany.com/categories/categories_travel?sort=name_asc&searchterm=&page=1&layout=table

Duplicate page titles in SEOMoz
My on page reports are showing a good number of duplicate title tags, but they are all because of a url tracking parameter that tells us which link the visitor clicked on. For example, http://www.example.com/example-product.htm?ref=navside and http://www.example.com/example-product.htm are the same page, but are treated as to different urls in SEOMoz. This is creating "fake" number of duplicate page titles in my reports. This has not been a problem with Google, but SEOMoz is treating it like this and it's confusing my data. Is there a way to specify this as a url parameter in the Moz software? Or does anybody have another suggestion? Should I specify this in GWT and BWT?

Redirecting duplicate .asp pages??
Hi all, I have a bit of a problem with duplicate content on our website. The CMS has been creating identical duplicate pages depending on which menu route a user takes to get to a product (i.e. via the side menu button or the top menu bar). Anyway, the web design company we use are sorting it out going forward, and creating 301 redirects on the duplicate pages. My question is, some of the duplicates take two different forms. E.g. for the home page: www.<my domain="">.co.uk

www..<my domain="">.co.uk/index.html
www.<my domain="">.co.uk/index.asp</my></my></my> Now I understand the 'index.html' page should be redirected, but does the 'index.asp' need to be directed also? What makes this more confusing is when I run the SEOMoz diagnostics report (which brought my attention to the duplicate content issue in the first place - thanks SEOMoz), not all the .asp pages are identified as duplicates. For example, the above 'index.asp' page is identified as a duplicate, but 'contact-us.asp' is not highlighted as a duplicate to 'contact-us.html'? I'm a bit new to all this (I'm not a IT specialist), so any clarification anyone can give would be appreciated. Thanks, Gareth0 -
"Issue: Duplicate Page Content " in Crawl Diagnostics - but these pages are noindex
Hello guys, our site is nearly perfect - according to SEOmoz campaign overview. But, it shows me 5200 Errors, more then 2500 Pages with Duplicate Content plus more then 2500 Duplicated Page Titles. All these pages are sites to edit profiles. So I set them "noindex, follow" with meta robots. It works pretty good, these pages aren't indexed in the search engines. But why the SEOmoz tools list them as errors? Is there a good reason for it? Or is this just a little bug with the toolset? The URLs which are listet as duplicated are http://www.rimondo.com/horse-edit/?id=1007 (edit the IDs to see more...) http://www.rimondo.com/movie-edit/?id=10653 (edit the IDs to see more...) The crawling picture is still running, so maybe the errors will be gone away in some time...? Kind regards
