Disappearing Authorship Pictures

I have a couple of established sites where the Authorship picture has suddenly disappeared and been gone for about a week now. Everything looks OK when I check, and the rich snippet tool displays the pictures when I check using that.
I'm interested to see if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue.

This may be an issue. Because these are extremely technical sites I have never done anything with Google+ but it might be time to revisit that.

You say these arn't spam sites, my only concern would be how active the Authors are on Google+.
As Fedrico said, Google is looking at these profiles to be active so it's important that these profiles stay active and engaged with other G+ members.

Thanks Federico, I think this is pointing in the right direction. Both sites are very technical and as such barely have a social presence. I think it's time for another look at Google +.

They almost never tell the "why" and "how", because spammers will eventually find a way to overcome it. Cutts at pubcon simply said something like "the roll out of Google authorship opened the door to anyone that can implement a Google author tag. In the coming months Google will finish up a plan to look at social factors around google authorship and award higher priority to author’s that are truly authoritative on a topic and that have published social conversations on that topic."

If that's the case I'm wondering what the criteria must be, as these aren't spam sites.

Google announced about a month ago that they were going to remove some rich snippets from SERPs and they were going to start showing them only for the most trusted authors. This might be the result of that exact update.
To get the picture back you only need to keep building and creating content while you continue establishing your online reputation.

Are these real people? G+ has a facial recognition and will remove stock photos etc.

Interesting. I did change the pictures — good quality head shots on cropped white background. After this they (briefly) reappeared, and then disappeared again.

s the same with me... I think Google is testing (again) something new... maybe theve changed some criterias for those pictures?

[Question] 880 old back links suddenly disappeared from google console
Hi everyone Last month I bought a premium domain from an auction, right after I bought the domain, I added it into google webmaster tools. It showed me site traffic, and 893 backlinks. So until today, all those backlink count was there. And when I checked the console today, it shows only 13 new backlinks which I started building last week. what has happened to all those old 880 old backlinks?I checked from Moz, those backlinks are still there. All of my blog titles have disappeared. In need of Wordpress help.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but here it goes. All of the titles on my real estate website have disappeared. I have spent hours looking through different forums trying to figure out how to make them show up. Also whenever I hover the cursor over links they turn to white and disappear as well. Pages Disappearing from Search
Hi, We have had a strongly ranking site since 2004. Over the past couple of days, our Google traffic has dropped by around 20% and some of our strong pages are completely disappearing from the rankings. They are still indexed, but having ranked number 1 are nowhere to be found. A number of pages still remain intact, but it seems they are increasingly disappearing. Where should we start to try and find out what is happening? Thanks

Google Manual Action Disappear
Hi Guys, I have a website that received unnatural link message. We had started link removal process, disavowed not approachable links and file reconsideration four times but all the times Google sent some samples of unnatural links and rejected our reconsideration. Last week we again disavowed non approachable links and planned to file reconsideration after a week but today when i tried to file reconsideration, Manual action message was disappeared. We haven't received any message from Google. The same case was happened with one more of our site earlier. Manual action disappeared means it has been revoked or something else??

Quantity or quality in Google+ authorship?
Hi folks, here goes a (hopefully) easy one for the local authorship gurus. For our blog content strategy we currently have two inhouse contributors. Both have decent Google+ profiles and one is in the process of really establishing authorship/influence by submitting guest posts to several industry sites, sharing content in Google+, engaging in conversations in twitter, etc. Posts by this latter contributor already rank page 1 for the main keywords. We now have a new content contributor who is a retired employee from the company and a good friend. He has written excellent content that will be published in our blog in the coming few months. He does not have a Google+ profile but he can have one if we ask him to, but he is not going to use it for anything other than writting on our blog. He does not mind having his content published under any of our current Google+ profiles. Question: should we include this new content under our current profiles or should we create a new Google+ profile for this new contributor knowing that it will be an 'empty' profile? My own brand name disappeared from google?
Hi, about 20-30 hours ago my own brand name disappeared from google results (We redirected old domain to new one about a month ago) My website is: www.websiteplanet.com If you search for Website Planet in google you will not find our homepage any longer.

Not only that the brand name disappeared but we also dropped in rankings and lost about %50 of the organic traffic we had. It's important for me to say that we have never done any sort of blackhat or even greyhat SEO, at all. I could probably come up with many ideas of why it happened but maybe one of you mozzers already experienced this and could enlighten me. Will really appreciate any kind of response/help. Thanks.0 -
Why have I disappeared from 1st page to outside top 100 results?
I have been #2 in Google for "plenty more fish" for about 8 years and have now disappeared. I've been told that I have no manual spam action against my domain www.plentymorefish.net. Can anyone suggest why I have disappeared and how I might rectify this? My guess is something to do with the Panda update Sept 27th - EMD (Exact Match Domain), although I don't understand why Google have left a competitors site #1 as this also has exact match domain. Maybe they've just picked one exact match domain to display and have not chosen mine as the .com has a better overall SEO score. Appreciate any assitance. Thanks.
