Get into Google : New Sites
-
I have a brand new website. It was created 10 days ago. How long would it take for it to show up in search results?
I understand that since the site is new, there are no sites sending it backlinks. Also, i have optimized the page for my keyword "xyz" and it received an A grade. The site does not figure even in the top 50 results.
Please help me out. It is a one page web application that needs to drive traffic to survive.

I submitted my site using GWT Fetch as Google feature.
I understand that it takes time. Does Google prevent new domains from figuring in the search results ? It doesn't bother me since the site is just 12 days old. But i want to make sure i do it right so that eventually Google will send me search traffic.

Hi Surya,
Are you sure that your site is already indexed, if you haven't been indexed yet you probably also won't show up in the search results for the keywords you'd like. Also ranking for a specific keyword is not something that is going to happen over night. It sometimes could take weeks to see any differences in the rankings.

Hi Martijn!
I have submitted the sitemap to Google and Bing. Even though it makes no sense for a one page website, i have done it. I have registered with GWT, BWT. Optimized the page for the keywords i am targeting using Moz tools.
What i have noticed is that, my site does NOT figure ( ranking comes into picture when it figures in the search results, first ) in the search results for any of those keywords.
Is there something else that i must fix? Or is it normal for this to happen for new sites?

The site i am trying to optimize is a single page web application as opposed to a blog or an informational website. Have a look at it, if you haven't already.
I agree that backlinks are a must. I am working on it. Thanks for your inputs.

Hi Surya,
Register your sites with both Google and Bing Webmaster Tools. This will give you the ability to upload your XML sitemaps and in most cases will speed up the process of crawling your site as you give Google a direct indication where it can find your content.
-
Had i been on your side - i would have thought of adding relevant articles - user friendly content and social fees
Search Engine will themselves crawl on site from 1 week to 4 weeks - but crawling or having A grade does not guarantee you a place on top - 10. It may take time and till that happens - you can focus on doing just one thing
- Content Building
Adding on links or backlink should always be secondary and be performed once the site has recognizable user friendly content

Is your live site supposed to have rel canonical tags?
I recently started working for a company and got them to use Moz and I have found that our secure site and our live sites are creating "duplicate content" according to the Crawl Diagnostics feature. On our secure site we have rel canonical tags pointing to our live site. I'm not super familiar with rel canonical tags, but our developer says we're doing the right thing. Would love any insight you guys may have if this is actually duplicate content or not. Thanks so much!

HELP - Configuration Killing Me, Dying on Google, About To Give Up
My organic Google traffic just completely died and it is not Panda related. I really need someone to offer some suggestions because I am about to give up. This is going to be a bit complex .. Here is the skinny: I have several relatively new sites. My main site for the purposes of this discussion is smartwatchnews[dot]org and I host my sites on wpengine.com. My traffic was was slowly building and I was averaging 2000+ unique visitors per day on 8,000 highly ranked Google impressions. In addition, Google was indexing my new posts about an hour after they were made. After reading seoMoz in its entirety and subscribing to Moz PRO, I decided to streamline my site, and focus my content to provide a better user experience. Here are the changes I made: 1. For ease of administration, I converted all of my sites into a single multisite wordpress installation. For some reason, Google now has half of my pages listed on the master site smartwatch.smartfamily.wpengine.com, and not on smartwatchnews.org. I have implemented 301 redirects for the pages at issue hoping to fix this problem. 2. At the same time, I also streamlined my categories and tags and used 301 redirects to route users to the right pages. 3. Finally, I subscribed to Moz Pro, analyzed my sight, and reduced usage of my keywords to around 3%. I had not stuffed, but the focus of my site necessarily resulted in me using certain words frequently. Within one week of implementing the above-listed three tweaks, I went from getting 2,000+ visitors per day to ~200 and my Google impressions went from around 8,000 highly ranked per day to approximately 150 poorly ranked. In addition, Google went from indexing my site hourly to indexing about once per week now. I do absolutely no blackhat, link-building or marketing of any kind. Other interesting things I have noticed: 1. Several SEO companies have linked to my site recently ... for example, all of a sudden, chkme.com just showed up in Webmaser Tools with over 1,000 links to my site. I have no idea who they are. 2. Google Analytics shows that my site has an average page load time of 33 seconds! It has never taken me more than 2 or 3 to load one of my pages and I have Google PageSpeed scores in the 90s. I guess what I really want to know is, can I just create a bunch of quality content over the next few months and the problem will remedy itself, or is there an obvious problem that I need to fix? I am at my wits end ... can anyone offer any suggestions before I simply chuck the whole thing? Thanks in advance for ANY assistance, ideas, or simply "hang in there's" ;-(

Which of these is the best guest blogging site
Which of these is best: http://www.guestblogit.com/http://www.bloggerlinkup.com/ http://www.Myblogguest.comhttps://www.helpareporter.com/ I like the look of MyBlogguest.com so far. We are wanting to guest write articles to be published on quality sites in exchange for one or two links back (link building) Also, how do you choose what article topics to write. So far my strategy is to look at the industry's biggest sites and to use the "Top Pages" tab in OSE to look for hot topics. Thanks!

SEOMoz Pro and Multiple Niche Sites
Currently I have 15 affiliate marketing sites and three blogs which are monetized. My budget dictates the base pro package so may I get some recommendations on how or if I can do analysis over time for all the sites. I ask this because it seems you would set your campaigns for long-term but I imagine you delete/modify/add campaigns to analyze different key words. Thanks for your help.

Any tools for scraping blogroll URLs from sites?
This question is entirely in the whitehat realm... Let's say you've encountered a great blog - with a strong blogroll of 40 sites. The 40-site blogroll is interesting to you for any number of reasons, from link building targets to simply subscribing in your feedreader. Right now, it's tedious to extract the URLs from the site. There are some "save all links" tools, but they are also messy. Are there any good tools that will a) allow you to grab the blogroll (only) of any site into a list of URLs (yeah, ok, it might not be perfect since some sites call it "sites I like" etc.) b) same, but export as OPML so you can subscribe. Thanks! Scott
