Website that lost ranking and now starting to recovery
-
Hello guys,
About a month ago we got in the webmaster tool a message that saying that we have unnatural links to the website.
We got drop from 200 keys that was in page 1-2 to pages 5-8.
We check our links and notice that someone links more then 1000 links to our site.We apply for reconsideration request plus we send the file with the links to Google to ask to remove.
Yesterday we got message from Google that say : Manual spam action revoked.
We check today the ranking and we saw that from 3 keys that was in the first page, now we are with 24 in the first page. Very good improvement but still very far from the 130 keys that was in the first page a month ago.I wanted to ask, what can we expect ?
Are we gonna get the lost ranking now ?
Is this happen overnight ?Maybe the big change will be in the next penguin update ?Bottom Line, what is the chance to get back the ranking as we had before ?
This is the most important thing right now...Thank you

I don't think anyone will be able to give you a concrete answer to this question.
If you had a sitewide penalty and it was revoked, then you will likely find yourself returning to good rankings for brand terms. If you had a partial match penalty then how you do after the penalty is lifted depends on why you were penalized. If it was for a particular keyword, you can see some improvements. For example if you produced a widget that linked back with a keyword rich phrase and now you have removed or disavowed all of those, AND you have good links that could support natural rankings for this keyword, then, once the penalty is removed you could see a good improvement in that keyword. I have seen some sites bounce back to top 3 in cases like this.
But, what I have found is that many sites who have a partial match issue do not see much improvement in rankings. The reason for this is that the previous rankings were almost completely based on the power of unnatural links. So, removing those links is not going to make a difference.
You may find that you see a further boost the next time Penguin updates as well.

Substantial drop in organic traffic and keyword rankings
My client's organic traffic has been on the decline ever since January of 2015. We suspected it had to do with some spammy link farm pointing to his site. We disavowed those links in August 2015. Still, we are seeing huge drop offs in rankings and organic traffic. I am at a loss of what to do. Are we being penalized by Google for some reason? Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you remedy? Feel free to ask my any more questions if you more information. KDc8dMp fyVtrYo

Ranking without SEO?
We have a client that we've been doing white-hat SEO for for over 3 years and they've always been number 1 in Google for all their targeted keywords. This year, their competition has been ranking above them and our client has been pushed towards the bottom of the first page. After thorough research, we discovered that this competitor is doing no SEO at all, just regular PR which our client is also doing. Our client is even spending money in Adwords and their competition isn't. Can anyone explain how a website that does zero SEO can magically be ranked at the top now and above our competitor who we're doing everything possible for?

Competitor website, how come they get away with it?
Hi we have been looking at competitors websites do see how we can improve, this website jumped out at me straight away as spammy gateway pages where 3 words was the only difference on all of the pages. Why does google give them so much weight still and rank them so highly? I thought this is what G was trying to avoid? Am I missing something here in terms of great SEO opportunity? A checked for noindex or canonical and I cannot see any. Love to hear some feedback. Cheers

Is competitive analysis only for high level links now
Hello, Is finding backlinks through competitive analysis only for high quality links these days. It seems commonly thought that link building is dead. If the site with a link section in my industry has a DA below 35 should I leave it alone? Or what's safe and future (update) proof these days? Thanks!

Why do websites use different URLS for mobile and desktop
Although Google and Bing have recommended that the same URL be used for serving desktop and mobile websites, portals like airbnb are using different URLS to serve mobile and web users. Does anyone know why this is being done even though it is not GOOD for SEO?
