What platform is it better to write my blogs
-
In a nutshell, I have a website and on the web site I have a rolling blog updated regularly with informative ,interesting and non pushy original material.
However . I notice that my website blog has a lower page and domain Authority than my original platform which is on Googles very own platform "blogger" .
Should I use Blogger or the website ? or would it be better to promote the website blog on blogger ? or am I over thinking this ?

Thanks for the peace of mind and for a change it seems im doing something right.
I suppose its ok to promote the articles on my web site through my blogger account . IE A one line description a picture and a link to the Article.

I'd take the domain authority of blogger out the this equation. That is one downfall of DA, is that it'll show a real high domain authority for a blogspot.com domain, even though in this case it's really the authority of the subdomain that matters.

Hi.
My web site blog is http://www.bridalshoesuk.co.uk/pages/News.html and my blogger is http://weddingshoeuk.blogspot.co.uk/.
I started using our web site as the platform, just because we were adding new and original content regularly
For a few years I did use the blogspot account which has more authority but i tend just to promote the bridalshoesuk post from there at the moment.
Im new to Moz and still getting my head round whats right and wrong. I was told (not on moz) that i should have my blog on my website. When I learned on moz about Page rank and Authority I am now questioning where would my blogs be best placed.
Hope this helps
Peter

Blogger is a great platform and with great content it ranks accordingly, what platform are you using now for your blogging? If you are using something similar like wordpress I would not worry about what platform you are using as much as what content you are producing and where it is ending up/ who and where it is being linked to.

My Guest Blog: Still A Good Link Building Resource?
In an effort to build some links, we want to really work on improving our blog content and exposure. We want to write two quality posts per week, and submit 1 quality guest post every 1-2 weeks. However, we're not sure how to go about submitting guest posts or who to submit them to? I found an all article from SEOmoz http://moz.com/blog/4-valuable-link-building-services but it's from 2010. Is myguestblog still a good source? Are there better ways of doing it? Also, is ever advisable to pay to submit a post? Some of the legal blogs (we're a law firm) have this option, but that strikes me as spammy or low quality links. Just to reiterate, we are striving to write high-quality useful content audiences will find beneficial, not just junk or salesmanship. If it takes longer than a week to write posts like that, that's fine. We just really need some specific advise on who we should be submitting our guest posts to and who we should avoid. Thank you all so much for any advice or suggestions, Ruben

Authorship showing in SERPs for non-blog pages
Hi, A few months ago we set up authorship for on our blog articles for multiple authors, which has helped driving extra traffic to our blog posts. Today, I did a search for one of most important search terms and one of our non-blog pages is showing in the first page of the results with one of our authors headshot next to it. Technically we have not not set it up to do this, the page is on a different CMS to our blog (which is wordpress). I'm not complaining because I think this is a positive outcome, but does anyone have an idea why it has done this? I was under the impression that only blog article pages could have authorship set up. Thanks, Stu

What is Moz Community and Blog Commenting System Built on?
Hi, I love the Moz blog and community so I'm just curious what it is built on. Is it built on something like a bbPress or is it custom system built in-house? Thanks!

Blog and Website = 2 different URL's - Is it WORTH to merge content on to one site
Good day Mozzers! A friend of mine recently asked for my help in regards to online marketing. While getting familiar with his online presence, I realized that he has a blog hosted under a completely different URL Main Site = http://pardons.org/ (page rank 4)

Blog = http://pardons.wordpress.com/ (page rank 3) What I am battling with is whether or not he should take all of the blog content he has, and merge it on to his main site. It has over 280+ blog posts spanning over a few years, so there is A LOT of content that could benefit his main site. However is it worth it, or should he continue to run everything as 2 different sites? Also, of you suggest moving the content over, what would be the best way to do it in your opinion? He currently has links on his blog TO his main site, so there is a little bit of link juice there, but with a average of 300 views a day, he only get about 10 clicks to his main site from the blog. Thanks a ton for your help!0 -

On-Site Blog or Blog Service for Best SEO Results
I had a blog associated with my site, then I had to merge two Google accounts and to make a long story short, my old Blogger page won't transfer to the new account. So, I'm starting fresh. My Question: Would I benefit most from an on-site subdomain blog, adding content to my site on a weekly/monthly basis, or an off-site blog such as Blogger, linking back to pages and resources on my site? Then, any other juicy tips would be great. Honestly, I won't expect a large subscription base. There will be a natural draw for some trade associates, and I'll be linking and promoting them as well. Thanks for any input. I'm new to the community, and SEO, but really impressed with this community.

Blogging competition - risky link acquiring method?
We are planning to launch a competition where bloggers can blog about our products and about our company. One winner will be selected to win a gift card to our web shop. In order to participate the blogger has to put a link to the blog post that points to our front page or into one of our product pages. Does Google have a guideline against such "link acquiring" methods?
