What's better for SEO a page per review or a page with all reviews?
-
Was wondering what's better for SEO. We have a platform where consumers can read and write reviews. But the question is: is it better to give one page per company with all the reviews on it? Or should we have different pages for the specific company?
Example:
Itunes has a company page with all reviews on the page, but not the whole review. You have to click further to view the whole review (new page), at the moment this the current situation.
What if we place the whole reviews on the company page, so you don't have specific pages for the reviews?
Hopefully can someone help us out. Contact me if it's not clear or you want more extended information.
Kind regards

I hear actually two different reactions, still wondering what's better for SEO. Someone who can help us out?

Looking forward to other thoughts I finished analyzing two big competitors, they all put the content on one big page instead of review per review on separate pages. Can't rationalize the better rankings.
-
Thanks Olega, but we don't feature reviews in a webshop or business page but we have a portal like TrustPilot where consumers share reviews about tons of companies.
-
Thanks Dave! Just to be sure: the option to see the full review, is it on the same page or a new page?
So is it site.com/companyXYZ and there all reviews OR site.com/companyXYZ/thisismyreview (and that for hundreds of reviews of company XYZ) -
Was wondering what's better for SEO.
Unless you are trying to rank for your reviews page, it would make more sense to include the content on the related services page. e.g. if you have multiple reviews/testimonials that mention specific services, try to place them on the most relevant pages. This would boost the relevance and add more unique content to the pages you actually want to drive traffic to.
What I would be more concerned with is user experience... where would visitors be most likely to see and be persuaded by your reviews? That would depend on your business and website layout.
-
I would say a page with review snippets with a more option to see the full review.
More relevant content, more pages, more ranking

Should I optimize my home-page or a sub-page for my most important keyword
Quick question: When choosing the most important keyword set that I would like to rank for, would I be better off optimizing my homepage, or a sub page for this keyword. My thinking goes as follows: The homepage (IE www.mysite.com) naturally has more backlinks and thus a better Google Page Rank. However, there are certain things I could do to a subpage (IE www.mysite.com/green-widgets-los-angeles ) that I wouldn't want to do to the homepage, which might be more "optimal" overall. Option C, I suppose, would be to optimize both the homepage, and a single sub-page, which is seeming like a pretty good solution, but I have been told that having multiple pages optimized for the same keywords might "confuse" search engines. Would love any insight on this!

Looking for a few hours of consult from an on-page/redirection SEO guru.
Hi! I could post our question here, but I think we will need an hour or so of questions and answers. Anyone consider themselves an on-page guru or redirection strategy guru? Here is the breakdown: 1. We sell digital media. 2. Most of the pages that return for us in the serps are indexed Search Results pages. From the research we have done, these are our highest trafficked results, but also our lowest converters. We have hundreds of thousands of indexed and dynamic Search Result pages we need to deal with. 3. We are concerned about Panda eventually giving us issues with these indexed Search Pages. 4. We would like to 301 re-direct these indexed Search Results pages to applicable product pages. 5. Looking for advice on a strategy to do so which would include the best way to locate the pages we need to 301 in the SERPS, being careful that the 301 will help and not harm us, etc. Note, we are just looking for a couple of hours of discussion and guidance. We don't need a massive SEO analysis or anything. Just looking for input and guidance on this one particular issue. If you just want to answer here for free, hey, we won't complain, but are happy to pay for quality advice. PM if interested. Thanks! Craig

Keyword repeats/presence in url's & over-optimisation
Hi I'm about to launch a redesigned site and worried about overdoing kw presence on-page, primarily using in url's since will already be using kw in titles as well as page content. What's current thinking re over optimisation: If kw is in titles and page content is it best not to repeat again in url structure i.e. less is more, even though this will cause things like SeoMoz on-page grade score to fall, or better to keep them/add them ? Personally i think it makes sense to include kw in url again since helps make the page relevant, and so long as matches the content should help as opposed to hinder rankings for the pages target keyword. However when i look into this some say don't do this since is over-optimisation The sites generally ranking quite well for its target kw which i obviously don't want to lose after re-launch & hopefully improve further, in the case of this example they are 'Sports Centre Services' & 'Sports Centre Equipment Rental'). The sites current url structure is similar to this below example: frankssportscentres.com/services/sports-centre-equipment-rental Would it be better to keep following existing/above format or to go with either of the below options i.e. more kw rich urls or less: frankssportscentres.com/sports-centre-services/sports-centre-equipment-rental Or frankssportscentres.com/sports-centre-services/equipment-rental Or even less frankssportscentres.com/services/equipment-rental Many Thanks in advance for any helpful comments Cheers Dan

Better page optimization for specific locations
I have a client that gets great ranking in a certain city mainly because that is their main corporate office and the address and city name is all over the place in their content. I am about to embark on getting them higher ranking in other cities as well and am looking for the best approach to make that possible. My thoughts... 1- create seperate content for the other locations, but the body information would probably end up looking duplicate, but I could be more specific with title, description and content realting to that specific city. 2- add the additional cities to the current content??? Need some expert advice. Thanks
