Infinite Pagerank Dilemma
-
Hey MOZ fans,
I have a exciting question for you today.
http://i.imgur.com/dl0r9s1.png
I try to visualize but let me explain too.In the pagerank algorithm, as you know the pagerank flows to the links **no matter they are internal or external. **And the link juice that pass can be found by pagerank of the site, times %85 divided by total outlinks ( no matter they are nofollow attribitu or not.)
Everything is okay here now. But what would be if it would be in the as image below.http://i.imgur.com/dl0r9s1.png
Does it also become a loop and, each of the page makes their pagerank 10?
Thanks for your help.

Even though I don't get it yet, I'm so proud of getting answer from Rand Fishkin !!
Thanks Rand and all of you guyz. -
The math doesn't work out here either, because each page is only assigned an extremely tiny amount of PR initially, and the damping factor will make it such that you're only passing some lesser quantity to the linked page. That, combined with the fact that PageRank's iterations end after a certain number of runs (at one point, I think it was ~10 iterations), and you'll see that looping PR like you've shown doesn't work out.

I would say a loop doesn't work, or just about every site would be a pr 10 site.

PageRank flow and distribution?
I'm confused about PageRank flow inside a domain.. Please provide me with an well explained guide about flow of Pagerank as I know, i think it flows from homapage to internal pages and then internal pages to homepage. I think I'm wrong. Also, every page has its own PR, if I give backlinks to external website from my internal pages, is it going to impact the homepage's pr and authority? Highly confused.. 😕

Is there anything wrong with this pagerank diagram?
Hey guyz,
Technical SEO | | atakala
I've asked many question today but forgive me :D.
I just want to know is there anything wrong with this diagram http://mygreatname.com/google-pagerank/images/google-pagerank-algorithm-03.gif
Because page 1 has 3 outgoing links but you divided 2 and page 2 has 2 outgoing links but you divided only 1. Or do I miss something?
Thank you. google-pagerank-algorithm-03.gif0 -
PageRank from 5 to N/A
Hi there, I do SEO for .. and it's a great site with all very valuable (and unique) information and resources. It was previously a PageRank 5 but recently (in the past week) it has gone to PR N/A across the entire website. The website is still being indexed in Google and our rankings are still the same. And although I'm aware PageRank means very little these days, I'm a little concerned this may be the start for a decrease in rankings due to something being wrong on the website. Have other people seen this? Would love some input in case you see something that I'm not or what may be causing the issue. Thank you for you time.

Javascript void and PageRank
Do javascript void links to on-page elements (not to a new page) consume PageRank? I'm paring down links on a client's homepage, and we have javascript void links (wrapped in <a href="">) that load videos, elements of a slider, etc. on the page itself.</a> <a href="">Basically, if I have a bunch of these, is it going to weaken the power of the other links on the page?</a>

301 on ALL 404 for Pagerank Recovery, bad idea?
Its a bad idea to do a 301 to the home page of the site on all 404 pages as a way of pagerank recovery? If so, why? Thanks,

Why does my site have a PageRank of 0?
My site (www.onemedical.com) has a PageRank of 0, and I can't figure out why. We did a major site update about a year ago, and moved the site from .md to .com about 9 months ago. We are crawled by Google and rank on the first page for many of our top keywords. We have a MozRank of 4.59. I figured this is something that would just take time to work out of the system, but nothing seems to change while we patiently wait. One more thing to note - when a user comes to the homepage (city selector) and selects their region they will then be cookied and directed to their relevant city site on subsequent visits. But even our city-specific pages (ie www.onemedical.com/sf) have pageranks of 0. My management team keeps asking me about this and I suspect there is something silly that we keep overlooking...but for the life of me, can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.
