To Many Links & Long Titles
-
One of our clients currently has a number of pages that "Too many on page links", Now her menu in itself has the majority. With it being an eComerce website it has quite a few categories. How harmfull is this to search rankings.
The other side of thing's, Currently the client has a large number of pages where the title of the page is the product, However her products for example could be
"The pink fluffy bear 2x4 with extendable arm and voice activation ( batteries not included )"
Again, how Harmfull is having a large volume of pages named like this.

I understand. Dealing with cart systems can be very time consuming, depending on how many products you have listed.
Look at what your baseline keywords are, and then add the filters from there. For example, you might want to include "teddy bear" if that is a more popular phrase in trends and keyword planner, then add your color filters from there. Make sure your product description gives enough detail to back up your page title.
One other thing you may want to investigate. If you are using a cms, see if there is a plug-in or component available that marks up your product info in rich snippets automatically. This will help your listings stand out, while saving you a ton of time. Best of luck!

Its a similar product as VirtueMart. However we have never delt with such a mass of long titles. And yes, the person who set it up seems to have simply just clicked the button to use titles as products names. Unfortunately the site in question has alot of;
- Product red
- product blue
- product pink
Were currently reviewing the option ( taking my example product ) "The pink fluffy bear 2x4 with extendable arm and voice activation ( batteries not included )",Down to "Pink fluffy bear" to include only the main word. The page itself covers the rest of the details there is just an in office debate on is this now to little information.

I would agree on changing the page titles. The way that it's currently set up, it seems like it's pulling from the product description, or that whoever set it up is using the cart product name as the page title. I would revise the page titles to include less general info, focus more on the keyword, and use the description areas to describe the product in detail.
We are involved in optimizing a site right now that has the same issue, using VirtueMart. It's a lengthy process, but can provide a big payoff
-
I agree many product pages with long titles is normally not a problem, so long as each title is different. The only issue is due to the length, the most important keywords are diluted or may not even be indexed if they're at the end of a long title.
-
Having a large amount of pages or links shouldn't be an issues, as long as those pages have separate, effective content and titles. Each page should accurately describe what the item is, and be mentioned in your site map.

Commas in title tags
Hello Guys, Thanks in advance for all who can help me with this I am helping a dinnerware company with their SEO. I told them to change their ambiguous title tags for more specific ones. However, they opted to create some title tags with 2 or three keywords separated by commas. I have attached an excel image illustrating their new title tags.. My question is, will this format be a problem with Google--penalties? The questionable title tags are highlighted in light orange. Thanks! lHH92

Too many on page links
Hello, I have a page that isn't ranking very well. http://nicontrols.com/uk/drives-motors/variable-speed-drives According to the MOZ research tools I have too many on page links. I believe most of these are a result of the advanced filtration options on the left hand side of the page. I don't want to remove the filters as they are extremely useful for customers but I am also worried about the number of links Anyone get any ideas about the number of links? Should I care?

Hello, I have read some SEOMOZ search results for this, but am still concerned that Google may see 4,500 Too Many Link warnings as a problem. This is caused primarily due to our header navigation, which is not intended to be keyword stuffing, but to provide all avenues for our breadth of content. site: crazymikesapps.com. Most answers seem to advise if there is no keyword stuffing at hand don't worry about it. Any help appreciated. thank you Mike

Is it damaging to have TOO long a title tag these days? i.e. well over character limit
Is it damaging to have TOO long a title tag these days? i.e. well over character limit. I learned that title tags should be around 70 characters. I am new at this, but have a client that has three times that, with the same three keyword phrases repeating 3-4 times. And then NO h1's or h2's in the text......advice? Rookie here 🙂

Site Wide Link
I have just run up the link explorer on my site and discovered that every page home page link points back with the text home - I assume this is bad in terms of SEO , my site name is ccie and I assumed that it put the site wide link of ccie to the entire site, however it seems to be the breadcrumb default of home which is doing it/. www.rogerperkin.co.uk/ccie Should I be looking to change this so my top keyword points back from each page to the home page. I am running wordpress and assumed the site name was the home link on all pages. Can anyone advise the best practice? Thanks

How many times to use keyword
So if I have my main site, blog and article directory section, can I use keyword in all three places, but obviously different, unique content? And if so, can I link them to make it even more powerful?

What is the effect of too many internal links on a page?
Hi there! We have been doing a great effort during the last year but our main competitor is still above us in search rankings. Basically, the main differente remains now in the number of internal links, specially in our homepage. We have more than 200 and they only have around 100, so I think we are wasting too much link power among some irrelevant pages. What could be the effect of this?
