Paginated URLs are getting Indexed
-
Hi,
For ex: - My site is www.abc.com and Its paginated URLs for www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi are in the format of : www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi-1, www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi-2 and vice versa also i have used pagination tags rel=next and rel=prev.
My concern is all the paginated URLs are getting indexed so is their any disadvantage if these URLs are getting indexed as somewhere i have read that link juice may get distributed in case of pagination. isn't it good to use Noindex, Follow so that we can make the Google to understand that paginated page are not so much important and that should not be ranked.

Hi there
If you can add "noindex, follow" to those pages, then yes that would be an ideal solution. I'd double check your pagination code just to make sure it's done properly, but I have seen pages with paginations/different canonicals be indexed before alongside the original in the past (canonical code is a suggestion, not an instruction like a robots command).
One thing I'd recommend doing is do a search for your paginated URLs with the "info:" search parameter, eg: info:http://www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi-1
If the search result is your original, main page, eg: www.abc.com/jobs-in-delhi - then I see that as a good sign that Google is following your pagination code and so while they might be in the index, they're treated as pagination versions of your main page and so you will avoid anything like duplicate content etc.
But, to be absolutely sure, I think adding "noindex, follow" is a good idea.
Hope this helps.

Does a / at the end of a URL create a duplicate page?
Hello, I have just used (the amazing) Screaming Frog to check my site and it is listing the two following pages as having duplicate titles, making me think it is seeing them as duplicate pages. http://zenplugs.com/zenplugs-molded-earphones/ http://zenplugs.com/zenplugs-molded-earphones Do I need to redirect one of these? Thanks in advance! Toby

Googlebot indexing URL's with ? queries in them. Is this Panda duplicate content?
I feel like I'm being damaged by Panda because of duplicate content as I have seen the Googlebot on my site indexing hundreds of URL's with ?fsdgsgs strings after the .html. They were beign generated by an add-on filtering module on my store, which I have since turned off. Googlebot is still indexing them hours later. At a loss what to do. Since Panda, I have lost a couple of dozen #1 rankings that I've held for months on end and had one drop over 100 positions.

Blocking Subdomain from Google Crawl and Index
Hey everybody, how is it going? I have a simple question, that i need answered. I have a main domain, lets call it domain.com. Recently our company will launch a series of promotions for which we will use cname subdomains, i.e try.domain.com, or buy.domain.com. They will serve a commercial objective, nothing more. What is the best way to block such domains from being indexed in Google, also from counting as a subdomain from the domain.com. Robots.txt, No-follow, etc? Hope to hear from you, Best Regards,

Wordpress category url problem.
I have set up wordpress categories but the permalinks are showing as www.mydomain.com/?cat=12 as opposed to the category name. The child categories though work fine and show as www.mydomain.com/category/chidcatgegory I've obviously got my permalink settings wrong somewhere. How do I fix this?

Disallow indexing of ALL subdomains
I'm using www.domain.com as my development hosting. Each website that i'm developing get's a temporary URL like this: project1.domain.com
On-Page Optimization | | conversal
project2.domain.com
project3.domain.com
... Now i'd like to set that ALL these subdomains can not be indexed in Google. Now I manually have to do this for each subdomain's site, and when I go online I have to change the robots.txt again. So I would like to make things a bit easier for me. Is this possible?0 -
Page Titles For Local - Help on URL Structure
Trying to figure out the best way to construct localized urls for the dental website. For example, If I have the URL:
On-Page Optimization | | Czubmeister
http://www.kooskidental.com/services/cosmetic-dentistry/
and If I want to make it local to the city I would use: http://www.kooskidental.com/services/richardson-tx-cosmetic-dentistry/ But what happens is that I have other options off the menu like: http://www.koooskidental.com/services/richardson-tx-cosmetic-dentistry/teeth-whitening/ But if I am trying to rank for richardson tx teeth whitening, I would have to do http://www.koooskidental.com/services/richardson-tx-cosmetic-dentistry/richardson-tx-teeth-whitening/ But that's pretty long and ugly and I don't think I need richardson-tx in their twice. If I am trying to rank for richardson tx cosmetic dentistry and richardson tx teeth whitening, what would be the best structure for the url's?0 -
Google Indexing
Hi, We recently launched a new version of our site on the Magento platform. I submitted a new sitemap and on the first crawl only 7 pages out of 132 were indexed...a few days later and we now have 107 indexed (phew). My question is this....how on earth do i find out which pages are indexed and more importantly not indexed? For all i know they might be really important ones so I need to be able to identify the missing pages so i can work on getting them indexed. Nic

0 urls indexed in GWT, many found with site: command
Hi, This is happening with a brand new site. We have created sitemaps and submitted them to Google Webmaster Tools. GWT says sitemaps are ok, "x" number of urls submitted, but no urls indexed. When I check in Google with site:domain.com I see that many of the urls are already indexed. Why this discrepancy between GWT and reality? Thanks for your time!
