What SEO conferences do you recommend?
-
I need your recommendations for which SEO conference I should attend to during 2011-2012.
I've been working with SEO since 2002 so I'm not a beginner. I want the good stuff! However I havn't been to that many conferences before, only PubCon Las Vegas several times. I would therefore appreciate some help from you guys who have tried them all (or at least several of them)
Thank's a lot!

My main SEO conference experience has been attending several SES and SMX events. I personally prefer the SMX events because I think they tend to have fresher topics, and it's a more comfortable conference to attend in that you have better food, more networking time between sessions, etc. SMX Advanced is good in that it's a somewhat smaller show, and has more advanced topics.
I think some of it depends on your focus. A small, focused seminar like EGOL talks about may be just what you need, or you may want a conference with a wider variety of topics.

The best two days that I have ever spent was at Brad Geddes' Adwords Seminars. I've attended them twice and learned a ton both times.
Go there expecting to THINK HARD. I thought they were about as challenging as a college calculus class.. anybody who thinks that he is going to sit there, sip coffee and fart should stay home. This is really a math class of conversion rates, bidding strategies and profit margins. Spreadsheets!

What would you expect an SEO agency to deliver in 6 months?
Hi All, Looking for some views/opinions on this one, my question is "What would you expect an SEO agency to have delivered for a single client over a 6 month period with a budget of £12k?" I appreciate that its fairly open ended and very subjective not knowing the site/circumstances but is there a general consensus or minimum you'd expect to have seen delivered for example x number of backlinks, x number pieces of content created, technical improvements made etc etc. Any steer, views or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Jon

Developing A Survey To Assist With SEO Plan
Hello everyone, I searched through the forums to see if this has come up but it appears that it has not. I am in the process of developing an SEO plan for a client as part of an educational research project. As part of general research, we are planning on sending out a survey/questionnaire to all of the client's contacts in order to help us develop the SEO plan. Obviously a big emphasis would be placed on keywords (i.e. what keywords would you use if you were looking for ______) but there are other areas to look at as well. So, I would greatly appreciate any suggestions regarding the types of questions to ask in a SEO research project like this. What would you ask? What would you be interested in? If clarification is needed, please let me know.

Good technical SEO resources for a newly hired front end dev who has no SEO experience
I am a SEO/product manager for a big online publisher. I work with several front end developers who have great technical and design skills, but zero SEO or social media knowledge. I end up answering a lot of SEO 101 questions and/or making them redo things with SEO and social media in mind. What are some good resources for them? I was already going to send them these SEOmoz links. http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/basics-of-search-engine-friendly-design-and-development http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo/how-usability-experience-and-content-affect-search-engine-rankings Can anyone recommend other, more thorough, more technical reading and reference materials (print or online)?

Market Motive - Take their SEO Course?
Hi there, I'm considering taking Market Motive's online SEO course for $3,500. It's a steep price for me so I wanted to ask you guys if this is a wise choice. The course would grant me certification and is around 90 days to complete. Has anyone had any experience with this course? It seems a little old, but Market Motive claims they update their videos.

Doing SEO when using location is not an option
When doing SEO for a company that does not have a specific location (they are an online-only retailer), and doesn't want their manufacturing location given, what is some advice on other great SEO tactics that will help counter the disadvantages of not using anything location-related (Google Places, directory submissions, etc). Obviously backlinking and on-page optimization, but in regards to the fact that Google is becoming more and more encouraging of sites that are location-optimized and listed in many records such as Places, Yelp, directories, etc., does anyone have any advice?
