OSE - Link Opportunities
-
I'm checking out this new Link Opportunities feature for one of our sites and what I'm seeing right now is pretty disappointing.
For Reclaim Links, everything listed is an internal link on our site. It's got tons of URLs from our old Iciniti structure (replatformed to Magento mid-March). It's crawling tons of stuff that's blocked in robots. There are no links from external domains in the first 5 pages.
For Unlinked Mentions, it's showing tons of mentions - 33,566 to be exact, a ridiculous number - mostly from news sites like Forbes, WSJ, Guardian, CNN, etc. These sites are not mentioning us. It's set up to look only for our brand name or domain name, so I don't know how it's thinking there are all these nonexistent mentions.
What's going on with Link Opportunities?
-
Hey Autoschieber,
There's no manual refresh unfortunately.
The Reclaim Links report refreshes with every MozScape index update. So you'll see those changes reflected in the report when MozScape re-crawls the site at the beginning of November.

Is there a place where I can hit refresh. We relaunched our Site Kfz.net a few month ago and a lot of links where broken and had 404 responses (some fixed some not).
The page is showing a lot of links that are returning http 200 now. How can I refresh?
-
Hey,
Thanks for the feedback.
You can think of Reclaim Links as a curated list of your Top Pages. They're URLs on your site that have links pointing to them but can't rank or pass link equity due to problematic server responses or other conditions (4xx for example). The idea is to fix broken pages or adjust from 302 to 301 redirects when appropriate. There's a bit more information in the help hub.
In terms of Unlinked Mentions, if you want to narrow your results you can use Fresh Web Explorer operators to exclude certain terms/phrases. If you think the results are flat out inaccurate it's something we'll definitely want to dig into on our end. Feel free to send the domain you're searching for to the Help team and we can do some investigation.

Hi
It seems to be working ok for us, however whats your brand name?
If your brand is something like cheaplaptops then this is going to appear on these sites, when they are talking about cheap laptops, but they aren't obviously mentioning you.
I will take a look if you can send me your url or brand name.
Thanks
Andy

Can I change the Link Explorer from check with Google US?
I'm trying to check the ranking keywords for a specific article with the Link Explorer, but when I hover over Ranking Keywords on the Overview it tells me that it's looking on Google US. We're a UK based company and the keywords we're trying to rank for are UK based - is there a way of changing this to match?

My site links to my clients not showing in Moz
I've got a web design business with a site that's been out there for 17 years - www.biztoolsone.com. I've got links to my clients' sites in my portfolio page. The backlinks list for my clients, when I check them in Moz, don't show the links from this site. They always showed in the list until a few months ago. The site has a DA of 59 & PA (for home page) of 50. The spam score is 0/17. I'm having a tough time telling my clients that the Moz backlinks list is accurate when that site doesn't show in the list. The same is true for www.fayettevillenc.biz - this is one I created years ago to generate backlinks. It's got a spam score of 4/17, so I'm a little more understanding of that one. Thanks for any guidance!

Flauctuating number of Internal Equity-Passing Links affecting DA
My site has a high number of fluctuating internal equity passing links in open site explorer from month to month, theses range from 30 000 and sometimes as high as 1,million. The fluctuations occur even when I have made no changes onsite. I have noticed that when the internal equity passing links are very high the DA drops and when they are low the DA is high, has anyone ever experienced this with open site explorer ?

Difference between Link Analysis and open site explorer
Hey, when i check my links in Link Analysis in Moz Analytics is see 45 Linking Root Domains. The manual states: " If you want to look at these pages in more depth, just click the export button. This will take you to Open Site Explorer so you can dig deeper into your link profile and export the data for review later." But when i go there, the open site explorer states i only have 31 Linking Domains. What could explain the difference?

OSE Advanced Reports - behaving inconsistently
Yesterday, there was an error message on the Advanced Reports tab in OSE: "Oops! It looks like our system is temporarily down. Please check back soon." That cleared up after a couple of hours. After that, I ran an Advanced Report that I run on occasion, and it only returned 3500 links, whereas it normally returns around 23K. Since then, I've run the same report 9 times in total over the course of about 1 day, and each time the number of links keeps increasing. 3500, 10150, 21550, 25400, 28650, 35450, 37400, 38200, 50375. I'm wondering what is happening? I want to do some evaluating of my backlinks, however I'd prefer to work on a "complete" list of links and the number of links keeps going up, when generating reports using the same criteria. When can I expect Advanced Reports to be "stable" where it's producing roughly the same number of links? Also, I opened up a support ticket on this with Moz.com over 24 hours ago, and haven't received any response. I've updated the ticket 2 times now, but no response. Disappointing they are not responding to support tickets. Thanks.

Open Site Explorer doesn't show local directories or citation links?
Why is it that when I run a link analysis for my local business sites I don't see any links from Yelp, Google+, Facebook, any local citations? Regardless of them being follow or no follow isn't the hyperlink to a website from a Yelp profile considered a link? Same with any other local business directory? I know the company is listed on a few dozen because I can see it manually but it's not showing up in Moz? Why is it that all local directories and citations with website are omitted? And since it is not there, where is a good place to go to discover these things? I have tried whitespark. It was okay but honestly I wasn't terribly impressed. The data was good, the UI was just okay, but with smaller clients it was an initial check and then very occasional checks that needed to happen. We would go months without using it.

Only one internal Equity Passing Link
Our web site IYBI is reporting only one internal equity passing link. I've somehow never noticed this and now that we are doing a lot more competitor analysis, I'm a little concerned given the numbers some of the other sites in the space are getting. I'm not sure I understand it completely and how it's possible we only have one. Any help would be appreciated.

Why moz pro detects inexistent links?
I have a campaign in moz pro to my personal webpage for testing purposes and also a bit of learning. But i have a question: On link -> Link analysis i can see this: http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/chat/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/docs/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/down/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/foto/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/news/index.php?news=1 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/project/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/ro/index.php 404http://maqui.darkbolt.net/project/who/index.php 404Obviously all these address doesn't exist. There are links on the page project/index.php linking to, for example, /chat/index.php.How can i resolve this problem on the stats? There's something bad really on the page? As i can see all links on the page are working properly.
