Ecommerce data in universal analytics
-
Does any have the same issue. We are tracking e-commerce data in GA universal. We are finding that sales are being recorded on the day of the sale and again a few days later. It does only seem to be 1 or 2 sales that do this not all.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Much appreciated.

I have this issue and for a couple of reasons:
The first being someone adds something to the order after they place it. This is the most common for me. Because the order is already placed and has the same order number, it just puts the whole thing back through Analytics.
The second time I see this happening is when someone uses Paypal. It is recorded once when the order is placed and when we get the transaction from Paypal and enter it into our website.
The third time I see this is when there is unusual change to the order, like a return, a discount added, a cancellation. If you track your revenue by Sales Performance you will be able to filter out the old orders by order number. It is a little time consuming, but you will get the clear picture. You can export the data to excel and remove duplicates, or filter them out manually if you do this daily like I do. If you do it by month it is easier to filter out the duplicates with the "remove duplicates" tool.
Oh, I have found this is most common with users who are in IE, Safari or Opera. I am not sure why, I don't see it happening a lot in Chrome or Firefox.

I'd agree with Max.
My initial thought is that somehow, the conversion to purchase tracking code is being triggered (properly) when the end user places an order and gets to the order success / confirmation page.
It's possible that when you are processing the order for shipment, or something like that, you are inadvertently triggering the same code? It could also be possible that the end user, going into their account to check on shipping status, etc, is re-invoking the trigger for the conversion to purchase / eCommerce order.
I hope that helps...

Check your tracking code. Never seen that happen to me.

Google Analytics / Facebook UTM
Hello, I have a quick question. I am setting up conversion tracking for my Facebook ads, so I am giving each ad set a tracking URL (UTM) in order to see which ads are converting etc. Is it possible to see on analytics how much I am spending on these ads or a cost per conversion? Or does the tracking merely track general analytics data such as bounce rate, exit rate, revenue generated etc? Kind Regards, James

Google Analytics, Wordpress, Sumo - who to trust
Something is wrong. I have a website that according to Google Analytics gets zero relevant clicks, with most of the clicks it does get coming from Russia. Wordpress says it gets a hundred or so visitors a month, with most traffic going to the pages that I know rank. Sumo says the heat map got 76 clicks. How would you figure out what's really going on?

Google Analytics Tracking Code Problems
I am having a problem with my Google Analytics tracking codes. The relevant GA tracking codes have been entered into the source code of certain sites I'm running campaigns on, but Google Analytics is still telling me that the tracking code hasn't been installed - yet it has. What could possibly be the problem here? I have checked that these sites don't run off multiple domains, and that the tracking code has been entered in the correct place within the source code - and yet I am still having problems with GA. Any suggestions?

Advanced Segment on Google Analytics
Hello there, hope everyone is allright and rockin' the SEO world 🙂 Was wondering if anyone could give a tip on how to configure an 'Advanced Segment' on Google Analytics. Basically I need to isolate traffic for 4 specific subfolders. E.g. www.mywebsite.com/solutions/A www.mywebsite.com/solutions/B www.mywebsite.com/solutions/C www.mywebsite.com/solutions/D/part1 Please note that the website has more pages under the specific section. E.g www.mywebsite.com/solutions/Z www.mywebsite.com/solutions/D/part2 but I only need to isolate the 4 directories (and their own sub-folders) mentioned above. Any idea how I could do this? Thanks a lot Joe

Strange increase in Direct traffic in Google analytics
For past 2 weeks, several of our sites have strange increase in direct traffic in Google Analytics. we also have another tracking code, and in this account we don't have any big changes, so this is very strange what is happening. We didn't changed any codes, and none of the changes were done to application. Any ideas why this is happening? z7ME9.jpg
