Local Moz - documentation for Acxiom
-
Hello there,
Moz Local shows that I am not listed with Acxiom, so I went directly to the Acxiom website to add my business listing. During that process, Acxiom asks for business documentation to be uploaded (DBA, license, Federal ID, etc.). If I were using Local Moz to send the data out to the data aggregators, how does it handle this portion (uploading business license, etc. as required)?
I'm hoping to use Moz Local for my website clients but need to understand this bit first.
Thanks for your help!

Hi again Sean,
Just FYI: this is what I got back from Axciom...so you are saying that this won't happen when using Moz Local?
Thank you for your interest in MyBusinessListingManager.
Your request to add your business listing cannot be approved at this time. The Proof of Ownership document you provided is not one of the official documents listed below or does not include the same business name or address as on your registration request. Please upload, or email an official document, mailed to your place of business, with the same business name and address as on your registration request to mblm@acxiom.com.
If we do not receive one of the following proof of ownership documents within 14 days, your request will be denied and you will need to submit a new request via www.mybusinesslistingmanager.com
- 1. Federal Tax License Letter *submit the letter that includes your ID#, name, address and/or phone number of business
- 2. State, County, or City Business License or Sales Tax License
- 3. Doing Business As License
- 4. Fictitious Name Registration
Please note: The business name and address on your document must match the information on your registration. We do not accept documents from internet websites, images of company logos, W-9 forms, copies of business cards, or Word documents as proof of ownership.

Hi Sean,
Thanks for your reply. I can now offer this service to clients with confidence, based on your response. It was a bit disconcerting to have Axciom need such documentation for a listing but am glad Moz has the necessary in place to negate that part of the process.
Cheers!

Hi There,
Thanks for writing us and although I cannot speak to the exact agreement Moz has with Axciom, I can say that a business license is not required to upload a listing. Moz uses Google and Facebook places to validates a business location, so no documentation is needed. For an amazing run down of Moz Local and provide some additional clarification on the service I would check out our amazing help hub at: http://moz.com/help/guides/local.
Hopefully this helps and if you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to ask and I would be happy to help.
I wish you a magical day and look forward to hearing from you soon!

We have a client moving office locations in a month. When should we submit new address in Moz Local to the data providers?
It's the fine line of don't submit too early, but don't submit too late. When is the right time to submit the new address. This client will be working at current address until Christmas Eve. The day after Christmas, they move into their brand new building and address.

Moz Local: How to Update Yahoo?
Hi - I am using Moz Local and trying to update a Yahoo local listing. The Moz link into Yahoo just leads to the Yahoo (Yext) paid service for multiple citation updates. How do you claim and update a Yahoo local business page? It looks like my page was automatically fed from Yelp to Yahoo, but there is no way to update anything in Yahoo without paying their fee. Help?

Does purchasing a Moz Local listing allow you to report old incorrect addresses?
I know this is pretty basic, but I've had trouble finding a way to report old, incorrect addresses. It almost seems like they want you to purchase a second listing to claim that one. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Moz Local - Needed for good measure?
Hello, Before Moz Local was released, I had worked with a 3rd party vendor and established citations throughout several, several domains. There may had been some directories, such as the databases, that we were unsuccessful at because we're 70 locations and they wanted to charge high fees for bulk. We also were unsuccessful with Yahoo, Yellow Pages and Citysearch (for various reasons that are too complex to get into here). 1. Would it be beneficial to also use Moz Local for good measure and to cover some, if not all, domains we had difficulties with? 2. Would that be duplicating our efforts and/or cause duplicate listings? 3. Can we cherry-pick which domains we want? Thanks.

Can Moz local correct listings with incorrect addresses/phone numbers that have no FB or G+ listing?
We just started using Moz Local for a law office client. The csv has the client's correct information. However, our client has listings out there with a completely incorrect address/city and alternate phone number. There wouldn't be a valid FB or G+ listing for this incorrect address to use for validation. Is there any way Moz Local can find these and correct them by matching name or website alone? The incorrect ones are not showing up in the list of duplicates.
