Website Updates
-
What's considered a safe number when it comes to making on-site seo changes/updates for pages of a website (refreshing copy, changing title tags, optimizing images, etc)? 1 a day? 5 a day? We need to make these changes but we don't want Google to freak out and have it have the opposite effect on our ranking.
-
If you do the appropriate amount of keyword and other research before making the changes, then you most likely wont be super surprised by the way Google interprets your changes.
As an additional safe guard you should closely monitor your rankings after you make the changes. If you notice too much of negative impact as a result of the changes, change your content back and start over with a different approach. Research and monitoring are key!
-
You can make as many changes as you like per day per page although any on site change has the possibility carried with it that it will affect rankings. Generally, anything that has to do with improving site speed: optimizing images, compressing code, leveraging browser caching, optimizing css delivery, etc tends to have a positive effect--both in rankings and for users.
If your copy changes and title changes stay comparable to the original content of the page (i.e. your Otter page doesn't become a Moose page) you'll be fine making any number of changes there as well. Ultimately if you've concluded that your page needs to change, change it and start working within the context of the new page. Cheers!

well, depends what kind of updates you do, not how many, but If they are right, probably Google will freak out in your favour! good luck
you can read some case studies about the subject, latest which I read was from Neil Patel if I remember good...

SEO for replicated website system
I have a client who has 750 agents. They want to provide them all with a website on a subdomain (mysite.domain.com). The sites will all contain basically the same info, however, this info can be customized on each site by each rep. Most of these reps sell pretty much the same thing, so the customization wont be very dramatic. So the question is, how can we build this replicated website system and deliver SEO value to each site?

Are internal and external footers on all pages of a large website detrimental to seo?
Hi, I am doing an seo clean up of our site - we have about 12 footers on the bottom of each page plus an internal site map including core keywords. Most footers go to internal sites and some go to external sites which are replicated on those external sites linking back to ours. (these sites are part of the same large company but are not related in any way) Are these bad from an seo ranking perspective? Do the look like spam? We get considerable traffic from one of the external footers that is replicated on their site so need to weigh up what the best option is whether to keep the traffic or to loose it as part of the seo clean up. thanks

International Website(s)
I have an e-commerce site currently selling in Canada and am now looking to branch it into the USA. We have both the .ca and .us domain names, but I am not sure what the best approach to this would be. If we put up a website on the .us domain name it would be virtually the same.. So I would assume we would have a duplicate content issue. What would be the best way to approach this type of situation?
