How to update campaign product on google merchant xml feed?
-
Hello Guys,
I am using google merchant xml which updates on every morning 12 am, now many times we run campaign which starts at 8 am and for that product price differ due to that google reject such products.
So my query is, is here anyway to set campaign start and end time in xml?
Note - In API we can update product price anytime but in xml it can be done at one time only that is 12 am only. right?

Hi Alick,
Actually my concern is, is there any functionality where we can set campaign timing while we upload xml feed? As our xml is automated that is the reason i am asking such question.

Hi John,
No, you can upload XML feed any time so in your case you should update XML feed immediately after price updation on website. Goggle doesn't mentioned anywhere that you have to submit/update XML feed at 12 AM only, I do submit the feed whenever I want.
If your prices change daily at a specific time, then a schedule to upload a fresh Data feed once these changes go live would be an idea. This takes out any possibility of human error in forgetting etc. Ensure you do have an email confirmation set up though, so you can watch for any failures in uploads.
Now coming to the price differ - Although your dashboard may report pricing discrepancies, if you have uploaded your feed and this matches the price listed on your site, it could be that when Google crawled your page, it was just before you did the price change on the site or alternatively, just before you uploaded the feed to reflect the change in price.
Hope it helps.
Thanks

Different snippet in Google for same page
Hello, I have a question regarding the snippet of a specific case: When i search the homepage by searching the business name, i find the correct snippet of the homepage (with the meta description that was entered). If i search it via site:www. it still show the default meta description. Has anybody had experience with this? Is there a way to change the snippet of site:www.? Does it influence SEO? Thank you!

Google + and Schema
I've noticed with a few of the restaurant clients I work with that Schema isn't contributing at all to their SERP -- their Google + page is. Is there any way to have more control over what Google is pulling to help make UX better? I.e. showing photos of the restaurant without a logo, etc.

Why do Local "5 pack" results vary between showing Google+, Google+ and website address
I had a client ask me a good question. When they pull up a search result they show up at the top but only with a link to their G+ page. Other competitors show their web address and G+ page. Why are these results different in the same search group? Is there a way to ensure the web address shows up?

Not ranking on Bing but is on Google?
Hi What are the main differences between Bing and Google in terms of ranking sites? My site is ranking well in Google but in Bing it is very low down and does not deliver much traffic. In Bing webmaster tools there are no warning messages and I had sent in a sitemap back in 2011 and 77 pages are listed, but I had not submitted a URL could this be why my pages are not ranking highly? Or does anybody have a checklist on what a site should offer to get ranking on Bing?

Why is Google Reporting big increase in duplicate content after Canonicalization update?
Our web hosting company recently applied a update to our site that should have rectified Canonicalized URLs. Webmaster tools had been reporting duplicate content on pages that had a query string on the end. After the update there has been a massive jump in Webmaster tools reporting now over 800 pages of duplicate content, Up from about 100 prior to the update plus it reporting some very odd pages (see attached image) They claim they have implement Canonicalization in line with Google Panda & Penguin, but surely something is not right here and it's going to cause us a big problem with traffic. Can anyone shed any light on the situation??? Duplicate%20Content.jpg

Who is beating you on Google (after Penguin)?
Hi,
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | rayvensoft
After about a month of Penguin and 1 update, I am starting to notice an annoying pattern as to who is beating me in the rankings on google. I was wondering if anybody else has noticed this.
The sites who are beating me - almost without exception - fall into these 2 categories. 1) Super sites that have little or nothing to do with the service I am offering. Now it is not the homepages that are beating me. In almost all cases they are simply pages hidden in their forums where somebody in passing mentioned something relating to what I do. 2) Nobodies. Sites that have absolutely no links back to them, and look like they were made by a 5 year old. Has anybody else noticed this? I am just wondering if what I see only apply to my sites or if this is a pattern across the web. Does this mean that for small sites to rank, it is now all about on-page SEO? If it all about on-page, well that is great... much easier than link building. But I want to make sure others see the same thing before dedicating a lot of time to overhaul my sites and create new content.| Thanks!0 -
