Problem with new blogs site speed, content not visible until scrolling
-
Hi everyone.
I just added a blog to my site, and today uploaded a new post. But here is my problem:
1st content is not visible until i scroll down. then it appears in like 2-3 second or so. I checked the google page speed Mobile 73, desktop 86 seems to be not great but ok in my opinion.
Can someone please look into it and help me I would greatly appreciate it.
here is the link: http://www.dcacar.com/blog/he-origins-of-cars-the-century-that-shaped-them/
Please don't judge the article it is not done yet. Once i noticed the problem i decided to find the solutions before continuing:)
thanks in advance

Switched the theme, problem solved. Thanks everyone

Ah, that's a shame.... Was worth a go.
The thing I hate about Wordpress is that the most unlikely plug-in's or themes can cause unexpected issues. At the same time however it's great that it's so easy to temporarily switch things around without losing any work or vast amounts of time in order to try to pinpoint the cause of the issue.Sorry I haven't been of any help but, again, goodluck!

Hi Chris, I just disabled the widget you suggested and nothing changed. But I like how you think. I also deactivated some plug ins as well and nothing. I guess i will have to get another theme maybe that will solve the problem.

Hi there,
Are you able to temporarily disable the 'Who we are' sidebar widget and confirm that the content of the page reappears without scrolling? Troubleshooting could then be targeted specifically towards this widget.
Of course, if my hunch is wrong and it's not the sidebar widget just disable and re-enable widgets one by one until you find the culprit
Good luck!

Hi there
Take a look at the Fetch As Google tool. It will give you a snapshot of how Google sees the content on your site. You can learn more about the tool and how to diagnose your results here.
It also seems that iPage has a SuperBoost plan, but if it's an issue with the way your site is laid out, Google will tell you that and you may not have to look into such a thing.
Hope this helps!

Hi Patrick I completely agree that it seems to be the server response time, but how do I fix that? My site uses ipage for the server and the rest of the site has no server response time error. Also I am confused about the scrolling issue. Even Google page speed shows a snapshot of the page that is empty( no content). I am not sure where to find the answers.

Hi there
It looks like the server time to get the document is what's taking so long.
I would go through Google's Interpret Site Speed resource and go through their tips there.
When you look at your PageSpeed Insights report, you will notice they give your pointers and resources on how to fix issues. I recommend starting there.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Houston Company Needs Help (Will Our SEO Work Be Destroyed While Site is Down?, Can Anything be Done?)
I'm a Moz member, mostly just lurk, and love the Moz community. I work at a non profit company that does benchmarking data and helps school districts improve process in education. Our building flooded and our site is currently offline, is there anything we can do to stop/lesson any SEO page rank drop between now and when we are back up? We have worked very hard to get these rankings. I know it is minor compared to all tragedy in Houston, but we have worked hard to get these SEO gains (YEAH MOZ!) and I'd hate to lose them because of Harvey. Any suggestions, assistance appreciated! Ralph

Create original content or Copy from several sources?
I own a site that that has about 15,000 pages that need some description content. I plan to hire someone to retrieve or create content for each of these pages on my site. each page needs about 500 words. I was thinking that there is probably three ways i can go about this. If I hire someone cheap I can probably have them copy data from about 20 different sites. using about 5 sources for each page description. I can hire someone that has some experience writing english content, and have them go to a few sites and then in their own words summarize the description on my site. I can hire a great content writer, have them do research on each page, and create completely unique content. I probably will do some combination of these 3 things. (great content writer on a few pages, since thats all i can afford to do) and the rest do the cheaper route. Is copying sentences from multiple sources a good idea? or does the content really need to be original?

Is this the right RSS Feed address for our blog?
Hey I looked this up on Youtube, but I'm not sure it's right. is this our RSS Feed address http://www.kempruge.com/category/news/feed/ It looks like our XML sitemap, so I'm not sure what's going on. I did what the video said to do, but I'd just like some confirmation this is right before I submit it anywhere. Thanks, Ruben

How often do you submit to local search/citation sites?
I recently received a Network Solutions spam/offer email regarding their internet marketing packages. One of the "benefits" they cited was that they submit your information to local search/citation sites once a month, to keep it up-to-date. I don't know about you guys, but my clients' information isn't changing on a frequent basis. I remember when it used to be a tactic to submit regularly to the same citation sites, but that seems like overkill now. Does anyone still do this, or is NS just trying to make their product sound good? Do we need to update citation sites frequently, or is it enough to update when there are actual changes to make?

Link building concept (Croslink different mediums sites for seo purposes)
Hello all. This is my first post to seomoz.
SERP Trends | | nikosvasilakos
A large News Media Group has a News Vortal and 3 magazines (for kids, health, fashion)
All those different mediums have their content in independant websites (since the branding of all 5 Medium is very strong).
My question is how to croslink them editorially for seo purposes?
Is it ok if i put a news box at every magazine site?
Should i create links to news articles or to news categories or both?
Do links from unrelated sites dilute your rankings for your key phrases ? Thanks in advance0 -

Is hosting videos on our other, searchable sites competing with our site-hosted videos?
We use TubeMogul to diversify where we display our videos (in addition to YouTube), but are looking into using a video hosting site so that we can drive traffic back to our own website. Would uploading videos through TubeMogul be essentially like competing with a much more highly-ranked website with the same content? Worth it? Are there any disadvantages to using TubeMogul in general? Thanks!
