Website Ranks and gets de indexed ??
-
Hi
My website is almost 3-4 months old . Whats strange is that as soon as it get Crawled it ranks for few terms for 1-2 days and all of a sudden gets de Indexed for these same terms or Rank drops like drops from page 5 to page 10 . Nothing shows up in Webmater tools under Manual Action . Assuming its a Algorithmic penalty, How to deal with this kind of stuff. Should I stop working on this site all together ?
Or assuming its a New website, google does not want it to rank for medium or high volume keywords ? What keywords I am after have 300 -2k searches per month .

TL;DR - This can be all or nothing.
You must make account in SearchConsole and verify your site. Then you must look pages one-by-one for 90 days period for keywords. If all pages are suddenly drop in one specific date - this can be hit from algo penalty. If they're drop in different times this can be some technical issue.
But this also can be due your new site. New sites often get temporary boost in SERP and then they're drop. This is caused from your linking profile and domain/site age. You need little bit patience then to get somewhere in 2x or 1x or even 0x positions in SERP. Just don't rush things with linking. Just little bit patience.
That's why - this can be all or nothing. If you're hit from algo penalty then sudden drop everywhere. If you're drop due on different dates can be some technical issue. If you're mixed can be fresh domain, but also check linking profile just to be sure.

Hi,
Definitely sounds like an algorithmic penalty. If you have enough authority to generate rankings and traffic for keywords of that search volume, your website either has a lot of links directed towards it or it is huge and has a significant amount of content on it. The only way to fix something like this is to determine what is causing the penalty and to fix it. Try determining whether the penalty is coming from your content (Panda) or your link profile (Penguin). Things to look out for might include:
Spammy link profile (Penguin)
Building hundreds/thousands of links in a spammy manner is against Google's best practices. You may need to conduct a disavow or work on generating more natural links. Use GWT (Search Console) to determine if this is your problem.
Duplicate Content (Panda)
This is common on e-commerce websites. You need to determine whether the content on your website has been copied from another source, and correct it when you find it has. A great tool for this is Copyscape. (www.copyscape.com)
Unnatural Linking Practices (Penguin)
If you have used PBN's or link-purchasing tactics for ranking purposes, Google may be coming down on you. Remember you have to generate natural links over time for it to look organic and for Google to give you those long-term rankings.
Keyword Stuffing (Panda)
If your on-site optimization focuses too heavily on keywords and there is stuffing inherent in your pages, Panda will come down on you. Review your website and determine whether your H1's, Title Tags, etc. are keyword-heavy and whether this can be reduced.
These are just a few ideas - once you have conducted some research you will know how much work you have ahead of you and whether it is worthwhile continuing work on your website. Even new websites can create positive long-term rankings if the SEO is conducted correctly. I don't think age is as much a factor here as the strategy and tactics behind the SEO itself.
Hope this helps and let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Best of luck!
Rob

Sitemap Indexation
When we use HTML sitemap. Many a times i have seen that the sitemap itself gets mapped to keywords which it shouldn't have got to. So should we keep the HTML sitemap as No-Index, Follow or does anyone has a better solution that the sitemap doesn't show-up for other keyword terms that actually isn't representing this page.

301s being indexed
A client website was moved about six months ago to a new domain. At the time of the move, 301 redirects were setup from the pages on the old domain to point to the same page on the new domain. New pages were setup on the old domain for a different purpose. Now almost six months later when I do a query in google on the old domain like site:example.com 80% of the pages returned are 301 redirects to the new domain. I would have expected this to go away by now. I tried removing these URLs in webmaster tools but the removal requests expire and the URLs come back. Is this something we should be concerned with?

Urls in Bilingual websites
1-I have a bilingual website. Suppose that I am targeting a page for keyword "book" and I have included it in that page url for the English version: English version: www.abc.com/book Can I use the translation of "book" in the second language of the website url instead of "book" ? Please let me know which of the following urls are right " French Verison: www.abc.com/fr/book or www.abc.com/fr/livre livre=Book in French 2- Does Google have any tool to check if the second language page of the website has exactly the same content as the English version. What I want to do is for example for a certain page in English version, my targeted keyword is "book" . So my content would be around books. But in the French version of this page, I want to focus on keyword "Pencil" in French instead of "book". Is it wrong or any consequences? That was the main reason for the question number one. Because if it is ok to do what I explained in item 2 then I will set my urls like: In English : www.abc.com/book In French: www.abc.com/fr/crayon crayon=Pencil in French

Canonicalized Website
We are new to SEO MOZ, and as we are doing our evaluation, multiple page problems have arisen. Our domain is www.moxicopy.com and www.moxicopy.com/blog. Our blog is wordpress hosted but integrated into our site. As we ran our analytics from MOZ PRO, we got TONS of Duplicate Page Title and Duplicate Page Content warnings, over 90 each. Most seem to come from our blog and our different products (we are an ecommerce website). Would the canonicalization of the pages be the cause? And couuld someone further explain exactly what canonical/canonicalization is>? I am very confused, and have a feeling that this is what has hurt our site so much in the last 2-3 weeks

Redirecting multiple websites to a single website
I've been trying to run several truck accessory affiliate websites for a quite a while now. I've recently decided to combine all of my affiliate websites into a single community website. This way I'll be able to focus all my energy and link building into a single place and build up a single brand. My question is, how many websites do I try to redirect to the new website at a time? Do I need to spread this out? Or is it ok if I move all of my content and websites at a single time? I have around 30 websites that I could move to this new domain. Thanks! Andy
