HTTPS (SSL) Error Encountered.
-
Hi guys,
We received the following error from our Moz report, our hosting companies says it's isn't an issue but I wanted to get your feedback as it seems a bit odd. We recently moved eventfull.co.nz to a VPS and setup an EV SSL. We moved another site to the same VPS and added EV SSL and it isn't reporting any issue.

Crawl Error
Error Code 804: HTTPS (SSL) Error Encountered
Your page requires an SSL security certificate to load (using HTTPS), but the Moz Crawler encountered an error when trying to load the certificate. Our crawler is pretty standard, so it's likely that other browsers and crawlers may also encounter this error. If you have this error on your homepage, it prevents the Moz crawler (and some search engines) from crawling the rest of your site.

I am just running some tests on the SSL cert installation now, but so far all appears to be fine.
I've checked your .htaccess file and there is nothing that should be blocking them, and the logs show nothing unexpected or any SSL failures.
SSL Labs test returns an A rating with no errors.
One possibility (though, it's a long shot) is that we never increased the HSTS time beyond 3600, so it's possible that the crawler is failing because of this perceived insecurity.
However, if there is some other issue going on, increasing the HSTS time would be a bad idea, so I suggest some further monitoring and testing.
You may need to contact Moz about the issue and see if they can help. Is there any other evidence of SSL failing to load? Have you experienced any other issues, or is it only the Moz report that is indicating any problem?

Hi there! Kristina from Moz's Help Team here.
Thanks for asking this question, and we apologize for the delay!
We took a look at your particular campaign and the 804 errors that came up in your latest Site Crawl. Since this is the first time those error appeared, I would recommend waiting until your next crawl to see if the issue persists. Unfortunately, it's quite hard to isolate what occurred during the time your site was crawled, as we're not showing any errors with the particular URLs that were identified at this time. So... waiting to see if this is an ongoing issue is really the best route at this time.
I would like to recommend exporting the current CSV report for these particular 804 errors to keep a record of the pages with the current error and see if they return next week. If they do, it might be best to contact our team at help@moz.com at that time, referencing this forum post, so we can investigate these further for you.
Thanks so much - and thanks again for your patience on this one.
-Kristina

Solved Duplicate content error affecting 142 pages
Hello,
Product Support | | EISMarketing
Recently I noticed a new duplicate error notification.
This page: https://www.earley.com/insights/internet-things-and-product-data
is flagged as 'duplicate content' with 142 affected pages.
Here's an example of one of the affected pages:
https://www.earley.com/insights/how-ontologies-drive-digital-transformation
This is not an ecommerce site. The affected pages are blog posts. We are pretty prolific writers and over the years we have produced nearly 300 articles. We are a consulting firm and the articles are about our area of expertise and cover a wide range of topics within that space.
I just don't understand why this would be flagged as duplicate or what I'm supposed to do with this information!
Help!
Thanks!

Error Code 612 with Squarespace
Hi Moz community,
Product Support | | BrownBox
I'm getting an apparent error code 612 on my homepage. I've checked my robot.txt file with https://httpstatus.io/ as well as https://webmaster.yandex.com/ like others have suggested, but they are both showing nothing wrong. Is this something to do with square space? Is it incompatible with Moz? My site is https://brownbox.ca Thanks.0 -

I have removed a subdomain from my main domain. We have stopped the subdomain completely. However the crawl still shows the error for that sub-domain. How to remove the same from crawl reports.
Earlier I had a forum as sub-domain and was mentioned in my main domain. However i have now discontinued the forum and have removed all the links and mention of the forum from my main domain. But the crawler still shows error for the sub-domain. How to make the crawler issues clean or delete the irrelevant crawl issues. I dont have the forum now and no links at the main site, bu still shows crawl errors for the forum which doesnt exist.
