I am trying to rank for the long tail keyword "Personal Injury Lawyer Vancouver". If I want to still rank for this keyword can I add an "in" in between lawyer and Vancouver and can I make Lawyer plural? Will this give me the same results?
THanks,
Jonathan

Hi Jon
In that case, if you are doing this for a law firm, lawyer(s) is a totally fine way of going about this because firms usually entail more than one lawyer.
Filler words like "in" are usually assumed in this example - when someone types in a service and a location, Google and other search engines will assume that this person is asking specifically in that location. So, in this case, adding "in" won't change the search in my opinion - Google knows what you're looking for.
Let me know if I am not answering your question completely - I hope I am!

Hey Patrick thanks for the reply and all the info I appreciate it. I am doing the seo on behalf of a law firm. I just noticed when doing the keyword research that "personal injury lawyer vancouver" had better results then "personal injury lawyer(s) vancouver" also when I search for "personal injury lawyers (in) vancouver" the results get even worse. I am just a little confused with keywords I guess. does google use the long tail keyword as a different one when I include "in" to the tail?
thanks,
Jonathan

Hi there
You could add "in" into the title tag, but I would be cautious about adding "lawyers" if the site is for one lawyer. You really want to be careful about spamming locations in your titles, so only apply locality when necessary. If you are having good results right now, I wouldn't change it unless it's absolutely necessary, but you can build content on the website for target cities, hoping to increase local organic visibility.
Take advantage of a citation and listing services, and also make sure you conduct a local SEO audit to cover all of your bases if you are serving a specific area. Make sure that the static pages on your website (About Us, Contact Us, etc) has up to date and correct contact information in regards to where your office is and what area you serve. Google and other search engine's rely heavily on this information and also rely on listings and citations to validate this information.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments. Good luck!
Patrick

Targeted keywords for landing pages but keyword has a lot of synonyms, how is the best way to approach this?
I'm trying to target one page for one broad 2 word keyword, however, because our niche revolves around this keyword and it's synonyms, the keyword is used on every other page, thus creating the issue of non-targeted pages taking the rank instead of targeted page. I've thought of using synonyms on each page, so that no one page uses the same keyword, but felt this could be seen as spammy or could just hurt overall relevancy towards the main keyword, thus a loss of rank. I understand page authority also plays a part, but also seems that every page other than the page I want get's targeted.

Singular and Plural Noun Keywords
Hi everyone Extremely love this community, learning a lot day by day! I am currently in the process of writing a blog post and say for example I am targetting the keyword 'apple' and 'apples'. My current word count of the article is 850 words and I have used 'Apple' 15 times and 'Apples' 26 times. 1 .Is my Keyword density too high and will Google look at this as keyword stuffing? 2. Do I have to target each Singular and Plural keyword individually? Or will targetting 'Apple' will also automatically target 'Apples' for me and vice versa? Thanks in advance!

Keyword Analysis Tool
Can someone please enlighten me on the Keyword Analysis tool Matrix. Does Domain Linking refer to the number of links back to that domain as a whole? Also why is it that a page with a lower page ranking can be way ahead of one with a domain ranking that is way higher or vice-a -versa? What is a good number to go after? what is actually attainable? Thanks

I am a new pro member and have noticed that a lot of my keywords are very similar. i.e. "piano movers Atlanta" vs. "Atlanta piano movers" vs. "piano movers in Atlanta" Is there an accurate way to see search counts for each of these terms do determine which one I should target? Does anyone have any recommended tools or strategies?

How do I know I have chosen the right keywords?
Hey everyone, I have been working in business dev for just over 3 years in seo/sem. Needless to say I was hooked right away and I think I am finally ready to start something on my own. I have started some work for a client who does not want to spend lot of money(what else is new). They manufacture watches and handbags and have over 2 hundred retailers across Canada. They currently have no online presence with with the site they have now.On top of that they have decided they want to start selling their products online. Also they want to target retailers as well as the general public. So I started thinking how can I use keyword phrase that would attract both retailers and end users I thought a good keyword phrase "buy stylish cheap watches and handbags online in Canada" that has a lot of opportunity because it has several keywords in the phrase, and can be broken down to target several 3 word key phrases. I have checked out Google's Keyword Suggest as well as WordTracker, and found that the phrase as a whole has very little traffic value. However there is tons of traffic when broken up.An example would be. Buy stylish watches online, buy affordable watches online and so on and so on. How do I know If I have chosen the right keywords if my client doesn't have the funds to test them all using PPC? This is my first client and I really don't want to mess this up.They are really good people and I would like to do right by them. Can anyone give me some advice. Great know my keyboard wont let me put in a question mark lol, thankfully its the weekend.

Prioritizing Keywords
Hi Everyone, I've been using many of the articles to find out the best way to create a list of long tail keywords I wish to target. Anyway, I used Google AdWords Tool in order to find out how many Global/Local Searches per month, and the Keyword Difficulty Tool on this site in order to find the difficulty score. With these two metrics, I've compiled a good list, but I wanted to know how people prioritize keywords. I was thinking of creating a formula in excel in order to compare both the difficulty score and the amount of searches, but I wanted to know other people's advice and how they decided to prioritize the long tail keywords they compiled. I am still a bit of a newbie at this, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
