Anyone seem anything from penguin yet?
-
I know its early days and even the wonderful Dr Pete said it will take a few days to notice anything, but has anyone seen anything.
I've not seen any rise in traffic yet, but none of my ranking tracking tools have ran yet.
Anyone seen anything, are you expecting to see any?

I have seen a very definite change on one client site which uses an exact match domain.
With that said I believe what was occurring was double anchor text from internal linking and external linking carrying the domain name into the back link.
Honestly, this is only a hunch, but the site has been increasing in traffic for the past 2 1/2 years pretty steadily.
This was the first big down cycle and as Google has stated this will not affect the domain entirely, but it will change the pages hit by spam.
I'm going to run a couple of tests on dummy sites that get at least take 10K of traffic every month allowing for comment spam and link spam to it individual pages and watch the fallout.
I do agree with you about what Dr. Pete mentioned it delayed Google has to crawl all the sites depending on your crawl budget and even regional internal Google page rank it could affect some more quickly than others.
US sites will be the first to feel the peak of Penguin.
For anybody tuning in on the subject here are some good references.

Not for myself in the UK as yet... I was reading a post from Barry Schwartz on SEO Round Table earlier who thinks it may not have fully rolled out just yet.

Ditto, although it sounds like it's going to have the most noticeable effect on websites breaking Google link guidelines. I doubt you'll see any great change, especially if your own sites/client sites are in reputable niches.

not yet, not a sniff.

New Domain Name or Keep going - Help not Recovering after Penguin
Hi Moz Friends I wonder if you can help me , a while ago we had a Penguin Penalty and lost our Rankings. After Months of work Disavow and Reconsiderations , Google sent me a message in Webmaster Tools to confirm the Penalty had been uplifted. Since then we havent recovered. I have been working with Bloggers to build relevant safe links, each having a DA of between 10-30. We have developed a Mobile Friendly Website and ios and Android Apps. We have improved Site Speed and moved to a Server within the same Country. We add lots of content and believe we have ticked all the boxes for onpage optimisation. However our DA and PA seems to have dropped slightly after Moz update today. We seem to be jumping in the serps, one day page 4 for "fancy dress" the next day nowhere to be found. I'm not sure what to do next. I'm not expecting to jump back to page 1 for the main keywords but some positive movement would be nice, especially as there are Lower DA Website, not mobile friendly or as fast above us in the serps. What I am looking for I guess is any ideas from you and also what you think about this idea A few people have mentioned that we might stand more of a chance using our domain name example.com instead of example.co.uk. example.com has never been used and is totaly clean (no penaltys ect..) Do we use example.com and move the website and content away from example.co.uk ? if so do we use redirects or would that just pass any hold thats on example.co.uk to the .com version Ideas Welcome Thanks Adam

Recovering from Google Penguin/algorithm penalty?
Anyone think recovery is possible? My site has been in Google limbo for the past 8 months to around a year or so. Like a lot of sites we had seo work done a while sgo and had tons of links that Google now looks down on. I worked with an seo company for a few months now and they seem to agree Penguin is the likely culprit, we are on page 8-10 for keywords that we used to be on page 1 for. Our site is informative and has everything in tact. We deleted whatever links possible and some sites are even hard to find contact information for and some sites want money, I paid a few a couple bucks in hopes maybe it could help the process. Anyway we now have around 600 something domains on disavow file we out up in March-April, with around 100 or 200 added recently as well. If need be a new site could be an option as well but will wait and see if the site can improve on Google with a refresh. Anyone think recovery is possible in a situation like this? Thanks

Starting fresh on a new url after serious Penguin update down rank
Hi friends My site www.acupunctureclinicvictoriabc.com was recently hit by the penguin update and i dropped to page 5 of local searchs for my key words. A while back I had some bad link building done and now paying for it:( I thought the disavow tool (used 4 months ago) would deal with this issue but apparently not The current url is feeling like a lost cause. My question is if I start fresh on a new url, can I use my old content (or even clone the site and move it to a new url) without being punished for duplicate content on the new site? Any recommendations for starting fresh? I really appreciate any thoughts on this matter, as I am feeling a bit lost and bummed about this issue thanks!

Can anyone explain these crazy SERPS?
do a UK based search for 'short term loans' on google. there are 7 sites on page 1 without any page or domain authority, several of them registered to a 'jeremy hughes', who I am guessing does not really exist. this is a very competitive term and they just shouldn't be making it onto page 1. im thinking this must be some clever 301 redirecting, as I cant see any backlinks to any of these sites in opensiteexplorer. any ideas how these sites are pulling this off?

Penguin Update and Infographic Link Bait
Is it still ok to use infographics for link bait now that the penguin update has rolled out? Are there any techniques that should be avoided when promoting an infographic? Thanks
