Webmaster Tools equivalent to Change Default Address found in Analytics
-
Hello all!
We're changing from http to https.
In Google Analytics there is an option to change the default address so we keep our historical data.
I can't find a similar option in Webmaster Tools though.
Do you have to setup a new property or is there an option to change your current one?
Thanks in advance!
-
Ok thanks. In what cases would you not setup a new property out on interest?
Can anyone else confirm this is correct and I'm not missing anything?
-
Hi Dan ,
You have to set up new property in your case.
Thanks

Are you talking about 'change of address' ?

I read this article: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/83106
Quote:
Note: The tool does not currently support the following kinds of site moves: subdomain name changes, protocol changes (from HTTP to HTTPS), or path-only changes.

Dan,
Use the dropdown menu on the top right (Next to the gear symbol but under your profile pic)
Let me know if that works,
Matt

Webmaster Tools V. OSE Backlinks to Disavow
Hey Everybody, So I am getting to the point where I need to disavow some backlinks. I am noticing a discrepancy between the OSE backlinks and the GWMT backlinks. My question is do I put both sets of links in the Disavow tool? Just the links from GWMT? Just the links from OSE? Etc... Etc... Thanks Everybody!

Webmaster tools help
Looking at some Google Webmaster tools data and im a bit stumped. Can anyone tell me if the "not selected" pages should be taken from the "total indexed pages" or are they a seperate entity? The way the data is displayed on the graph leads you to believe they should be taken from the total indexed pages, yet Googles own description of "not selected" pages says that these pages are not indexed. Confused.

Setting up Google Analytics for Subsites
I currently have one main .com site and am planning on launching geo-location subsites .co.uk, .com.au, .ru, etc... Traffic will flow between both sites and some of the content on the subsites will be duplicate and therefore include a canonical tag to the main site. I want to set up GA to capture who is going to the subsites and vice versa and correctly capture crossover traffic. Any advice on implementing advanced analytics directly (or links to sources that will direct me the right direction for this project)

Google Analytics data - Canonical problems?
Hi everyone, We're trying to determine why Google Analytics is showing multiple versions of the same page as having "landing page traffic". For instance, these 2 pages are both shown as landing pages in GA: www.oursite.com/product_page
Reporting & Analytics | | darkgreenguy
www.oursite.com/product_page/ This occurs many times in Google analytics. Also, there are instances such as these: www.oursite.com/index.php/custom_product_url www.oursite.com/custom_product_url I can't find anything in Google Webmaster tools that would indicate a problem. However, this GA data is making me think there are duplicate content issues on the site... Thanks in advance for any help...0 -
