Excluding Cookieless Static Content Sub-domain from GA/GTM
-
For the purposes of this question our ecommerce site url is www.ecommerce.com
Our TLD is ecommerce.com
We have, following advice from Yslow, Pagespeed and others, moved our static content to a subdomain - static.ecommerce.com
We have Google Analytics and Enhance Ecommerce installed, fired from GTM.
The cookieDomain setting in GTM is 'auto'
At present cookies are being attached to our static resources.
What changes do I need to make to to prevent this happening?
Many thanks
Julian

Thanks Martijn - that seems to work just fine

Hi Julian,
Could you potentially make sure that Google Analytics and GTM aren't loaded on static.ecommerce.com, which you could do by making an exclusion for them in the Triggers?

When migrating to https should you unlink the verified http version from my GA account?
Hi We had a new site design at the end of April and at the same time changed to https. Over the last 6 months, according to our analytics account the traffic has dramatically dropped especially from mobile. We were at 3607 new visitors from mobile in April and now 32! in September. Technically (other than page speed and some meta issues that I'm aware of) there doesn't initially appear to be anything wrong. I have just been into search console and notice that the old http site still has the GA code on it, could it be that this is why the data is showing such a massive drop? Should we have taken that off when we migrated the site? The same analytics account is also on the new site. Thanks in advance Janine

URL open with double domain names when click on visit URL link in Google Analytics
I have configured Advance Filter to track the sub-domains traffic as follow : Filter
Reporting & Analytics | | gamesecure
Type: Custom filter > Advanced Field A: Hostname Extract A: (.*) Field B: Request URI Extract B: (.*) Output To: Request URI Constructor: $A1$B1 After that, I am able to see sub-domains record and View Full Page URL In Reports. But when I check reports in All page (e.g. Behavior >> All Pages) or selecting Landing Page as a Primary Dimension. Further I click on Icon given next to displayed Full URL to visit to same domain page, in browser the page
opened but the double domain name comes so page not open successfully. For example : In landing page list following URL given : www.sitegeek.com/compareHosting/arvixe_vs_hostgator If I click on icon given next the displayed URL, in browser following URL will
open https://sitegeek.comwww.sitegeek.com/compareHosting/arvixe_vs_hostgatorIs this First Domain with HTTPs, coming from Google Analytic 'View' where this is taken ? How Can I remove double domains? Thanks, Rajiv

Adding a Query String to a Static URL is that good or bad?
I just went through this huge process to shorten my URL structure and remove all dynamic strings. Now my analytics team wants to add query strings to track clicks from the homepage. Is this going to destroy my clean url structure by appending a query string to the end of the URL structure.

When to note Keyword improvement/decline?
Every report we have fluctuations in our rankings, but the majority of them are only a few places up or a few places down. Other than first page and top 3, when do you all start noting fluctuations (good or bad)? Would you start at 5, 10, 20 etc? Thanks, Ruben

Duplicate page content
I'm seeing duplicate page content for tagged URLs. For example:
Reporting & Analytics | | DolbySEO
http://www.dolby.com/us/en/about-us/careers/landing.html
http://www.dolby.com/us/en/about-us/careers/landing.html?onlnk=al-sc as well as PPC campaigns. We tag certain landing pages purposefully in order to understand that traffic comes from these pages, since we use Google Analytics and don't have the abiility to see clickpaths in the package we have. Is there a way to set parameters for crawling to exclude certain pages or tagged content, such as those set up for PPC campaigns?0 -
GA Subdomain Setup
Hi Mozzers, Can someone show me how to add a subdomain profile (sub.example.com) under the master profile (www.example.com) on Google Analytics. I am not sure on how to set it up. Thanks
