Duplicate titles issue
-
Hi,
For the second week in a row MOZ is finding duplicate titles crawling my website.
But as you see in the attached screenshot it doesn't seem it's a clear duplicate title thing, as it's mainly due to the different pages having the same title.
What should I do? Is it really affecting my SERP positioning? -
Hi Alessia,
While you could say these are duplicates (as Igor said), I don't think Moz should be reporting these as duplicates because they are not an issue as they are handled with hreflang and pagination - and won't actually cause you any problems.
However, I would update your Italian pages to use Italian titles. They seem to be in Italian everywhere except the title - this will be important for you to get Italian traffic to your site.
There is also a small issue with your hreflang implementation where you are only specifying a language. You must specify a language and a country for hreflang to validate.
Cheers,
David

Great, thanks. But how do I change that from my WP dashboard?

This is exactly what duplicate title means, not that it copies someone else's title, but that you have several pages with identical titles. You must create unique titles for your pages, or use canonical tag if you must use identical titles.
Otherwise, search engines will see that your website has a bunch of pages with identical content.

Crawl issues, how to see a referring link?
Hi There, We've got two crawl issues for pages that don't exist (and never existed). The links are strange and judging by the code in them, appear to be coming from our own CMS. How can we see which pages the links are on in Moz? Cheers Ben

Why does a new page in Page Optimization say [No Title]?
I've just added a keyword and URL in Page Optimization. It gave me a 98 score - all good so far. But then when it added this page to the list of earlier pages it shows the keyword and URL but the title is [No Title] - and without a title I can't select it to edit it. Is this familiar to anyone?

Duplicate Page Content and Title
Hi. New to Moz here. I really like all of the tools. Moz recently sent me a Crawl Report and flagged every page as a duplicate content and duplicate title. The only reason/difference between the pages it flagged is the beginning of the URL. The crawl report shows the http://websitename.com and then http://www.websitename.com/ Is there something I'm missing about setting up my website? You can use either form to browse to my website, with the www and without. Why would Moz flag that as a duplicate? Scott

A lot of duplicate content issues - does Moz understand canonical URL?
Hi, Since I subscribed to Moz my Magento store has given a lot of duplicate content issues. However, I did have a problem with Canonical URL at the time. It has been settled for a couple of weeks by now and although I had 302 redirects before, I configured Magento to 301 today. Since Moz has been crawling and showing duplicate content for exactly the same Magento pages but with endings like store=us, store=aus etc (since I have several store views enabled), I am wondering whether canonical URL does actually help Google to skip these versions of the duplicate pages and does Moz also understand it and will it reduce the amount of duplicate content errors once the 301 redirects and canonical URLs have been properly set for a week or so? Thanks!

Homepage duplicated content - 301 redirection - "Rel="canonical" - Headache
Hello Moz community, I already have 301 redirection in my .htaccess , just like this: RewriteEngine On
Getting Started | | mdmoz
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mysite.com$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ "http://www.mysite.com/$1" [R=301,L] Mozpro shows that I have duplicated content for www.mysite.com & www.mysite.com\index.html I am a little lost, there is " 301 Redirect" and "Rel="canonical", moz replied me back that I need to use "Rel="canonical", but can one use both together? i also read on forums, if I 301 redirect index to /, there will be infinite loop and such. Another story, I am also getting IP Canonicalization error when I checked my SEO performance: Your site's IP ...* does not redirect to your site's domain name. This could cause duplicate content problems if a search engine indexes your site under both its IP and domain name.** Which adds to my headache. What is this one all about? There is no single thread or page here, to clear all this confusion and give a straight solution, but rather each page or thread says do a different thing. I am lost, so somebody help!0 -
How do I update the crawl issues & Notifications?
I have a list of errors, most relating to missing meta descriptions. I have added a meta description to a page, visited the site and viewed the source, and the meta description is now there. When I go to analyze issues, the report it gives back for the link contains the same missing meta description as previously. How do I get it to update and realize the issue has been fixed?

Duplicate page titles reported on same links
Moz is reporting duplicate titles on my clients website, citing different versions of the same link, one without dubs as domain.com/link and the other with dubs as www.domain.com/link. for example ... duplicate title = Warranty Requests For Custom New Home Construction in Jacksonville

http://myhjhome.com/new-home-construction-warranty-request.html
http://www.myhjhome.com/new-home-construction-warranty-request.htmlthe links are the same, one is just with www and the other is without. in another example ... Moz reports 5 duplicate titles on the Home page, citing 5 different URLs that all load the same home page ...
duplicate title = Jacksonville Custom Home Builder, Quality Construction On Your Lot
http://myhjhome.com
http://myhjhome.com/
http://myhjhome.com/index.php
http://www.myhjhome.com/
http://www.myhjhome.com/index.php is this just something that's always going to be reported as a duplicate title or is there a way for me to change the website so Moz doesnt report a duplicate title on the same page (since there really isnt a duplicate title in these examples)?0
