Keyword Explorer - root domain (NEW): Domains outside US & Canada - no or no meaningful results
-
Basically I really like and would love to use the new root domain feature in the Keyword Explorer in my daily work. I usually deal with small to medium sized sites in Switzerland.
Looking these up unfortunately it either gives me back nonsense (i.e. keywords that merely have nothing to do with the site; sites are very well keyword optimized) or no data ("There are no results for your search") at all.
Is this going to change in the future (...honestly) or its simply due to the fact that MOZ focuses primarily on US & Canada and maybe huge sites in Europe?
Thanks for your input.
Cheers,
Cesare

Hi Dave,
We have similar issues with the new searching for keywords by root domain functionality in keyword explorer. We are based in Australia and need rankings for google.com.au, which is what we have set up within our campaign ranking reports.
The explorer tool rankings are way off and not accurate for our site's actual rankings. Also, many of the top, high volume keywords that we are tracking and for which we rank on first page for are not even appearing when I do an explorer search using our root domain.
Is the root domain functionality within keyword explorer providing results based on google.com rather than google.com.au? Does this mean that if we are outside the US that we can't use the tool as it is not accurate?
Cheers,
Damien

Hey Cesare, Dave here from the Help Team.
We are working on increasing better functionality around international URLs/Keywords for Keyword By Site, but as for right now its mainly U.S. focused. Sorry for that inconvenience that causes!

Explain me how you use keyword explorer for SEO
Hello, Can you explain me how you use keyword explorer for SEO because I watched many video and after watching them everything is a little confusing... From my understanding, you have you main keyword let's say "Normandy bike tours". Based on that keyword you decide to cover TOPICS. Let's say I decide to cover D-Day landings, Omaha beach and and Caen on my page about" Normandy bike tours" ( I could cover more or others I imagine but now let's say those TOPICS are the ones I have decided to cover. From that point on what I understand is that I need to cover each of those TOPICS and the way to cover each of them is to type each of those words separately in the keyword explorer and look for words that the keyword explorer gives mes that it considers to be "semantically related" to each of those TOPICS. Then, if I choose the corrects one google will understand the different TOPIC and that should boost my ranking. Is it the whole idea ? PS : How many do you look at to find semantically related words ? 10, 20 or more ? Thank you,

I keep getting a 429 Too Many Request error for a wp-login page on my website. Is there a way to prevent that from happening, or fix outside of redirecting on the back end of WordPress?
I have a client that keeps coming up with 429 Too Many Request critical crawl errors. I re-directed some of them on the back end of WordPress, but additional keep coming in. The URL has a WP-Login and directs to back end login section. Is there a reason that would come up as an error, how can I prevent it from happening again, and how can I fix the remaining current errors outside of redirecting back to /? Thanks, Kalyn Lengieza

I requested a new crawl, this was done but my dashboard only shows the crawl done last week?
We recently moved our old website to a new CMS and structure. there have been some configuration errors and I needed to make some changes with things like canonical url's etc. However I need to check if these changes have made a difference and requested a new crawl through the crawl test page. I was emailed each time that a new crawl had been done but my reporting and dashboards still only show data from the last scheduled crawl. Regards Chris

"Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization" - can't find the problem
Hi, I understand what this means (or at least I think I do!), but I can't find where the problem lies. The keyword is "fire warden training" and the url is http://www.tutis-fire.co.uk/fire-warden-training-courses/ If anyone could lend a helping hand, I'd appreciate it.
