Tool that recognizes twitter spam accounts
-
I seem to remember seeing an online app mentioned here that allows you to enter a twitter username, and it reports back metrics on the likelihood of each follower being a real person or not. Does anyone have the link, or did I imagine it?
-
They may look at the following (just a guess):
- follower to followed ratio
- number of people followed against length of time account has been running
- number of updates in relation to followed/follower numbers
- whether they have a naughty profile picture
-
Yeah, that looks like the one I saw. It would be nice to know their methodology. I could whip up a python script fairly quickly for public use to try against accounts you don't control.

This tool scans your twitter followers and returns a list of possible spammers. I have just given it a quick test and it was very accurate, however, I only have a measly 17 followers as am not active on Twitter. Be interesting to see how it performs onb a larger sample.
-
It was an overview, percentage of followers that were likely to be spammers. Based on who they followed, how much they wrote, etc. Maybe I did imagine it. ha.
-
I've never hear of such a app. And if there is one I'm not sure how accurate it would be. I know there are many people out there using fake accounts that look really legit.

Possible to automate/semi-automate twitter followers into specified list(s) after the fact without doing so one-by-one?
I have a list of about 3,000 Twitter followers and would like to segment my followers into separate lists for "emergency preparedness" and "travel." Is there a tool that can help me automate this without reviewing each profile one-by-one?

Benefits of getting inbound links to your Facebook account to go through your domain?
Hi, I was browsing a magazine recently and came across an advert that had a text of: domain.com.au/facebook When you visit this address you are automatically redirected to their Facebook account. It got me thinking, is there any benefit to this? It's the first time I've seen it and I presume they get links from outside sources to their FB account to go to domain.com.au/facebook rather than facebook.com/sitename Thanks

Permanent URLs for Twitter?
Hi everyone - The site I am working on is going to start giving users the option to tweet that they completed an action. It reads, for example, "I just took the first step to ( ) with (site): (shortened link) via (Twitter name)" Here's my question: Should I worry about the fact that the shortened URL (we're possibly going to use Twitter's shortener T.Co, but I'm not dedicated to it) changes each time? Should we instead have a permanent short URL for the homepage (where we are going to direct people who click the link in the tweet)? Thanks!
