Redirect issue

http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/wedding-band redirects to http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/wedding-band-cost-much-hire/
NO canonical in place. Nothing in Htaccess. I cant think where else to look to find it.
If I amend it to http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/we it still redirects.
Any ideas? I have spent way too long on it now

Hello!
Were you able to fix it? To sum up the other answers, this could be a few things:
-
a redirect in your .htaccess file
-
a redirect in a plugin (yoast, or a separate redirects plugin - some plugins even create redirects automatically)
-
or autogenerated by your theme/wordpress
I would work in that order looking for it,

Thank you

It is definitely a Wordpress issue. Take a look at your functions.php file for your theme. You can add some code to turn off this feature.
If you have this feature on, which it usually is by default, it will redirect to the closest matching URL. Like so:
https://www.example.com/contact
will redirect to
https://www.example.com/contact-us (the actual page URL)
remove_filter('template_redirect', 'redirect_canonical'); is the code you need to add to the functions.php. But make sure you read up on it before disabling it, as it does have some benefits.

This is built-in functionality in Wordpress, matching closest existing URL.

Wordpress blog duplicate issue
So after looking at the set up of the blog ive found this. http://www.trespass.co.uk/blog/ http://www.trespass.co.uk/blog/category/news/ http://www.trespass.co.uk/blog/category/general/ http://www.trespass.co.uk/blog/category/snow/ Content shown on http://www.trespass.co.uk/blog/ can also be found on the other 3 urls. The permalink structure is set up as /%category%/%postname%/ which I want to change to just %postname% Obviously i want to make things as seo friendly as possible so any suggestions to do this right without losing any indexed pages etc. I have limited access to make changes to plugins etc aswell as these need to be done through the development company who manage our site. Cheers Robert

What is the best way to resolve duplicate content issue
Hi I have a client whose site content has been scraped and used in numerous other sites. This is detrimental to ranking. One term we wish to rank for is nowhere. My question is this: what's the quickest way to resolve a duplicate content issue when other sites have stolen your content? I understand that maybe I should firstly contact these site owners and 'appeal to their better nature'. This will take time and they may not even comply. I've also considered rewriting our content. Again this takes time. Has anybody experienced this issue before? If so how did you come to a solution? Thanks in advance.

I noticed that my company owns a few exact match domains that are relevant to our business. Is it worth doing anything other than just redirecting them to our homepage?
It turns out we own a few exact match domains that are relevant to our business. Is it worth doing anything other than just redirecting? (We have owned these sites for a long time, over 15 years.) The keywords are moderate to low in traffic and moderate to high in competitiveness. (Right now they 301 to our main site.) I know exact match is not as valuable as it used to be and that there are mixed opinions about microsites...

Temporary Redirects
On my crawl report from SEOmoz, I have a lot of Temporary Redirects listed. The referring site is a product category page, but the URL listed is part of a shopping cart. For example: | http://www.adagiowaterfeatures.com/cart.php?action=add&product_id=496 | Tested true for a temporary redirect referred by this url: | http://www.adagiowaterfeatures.com/categories.php?category=Free-Standing-Water-Features/Harmony-River-Collection | Why does this occur and what can I do about it?

Is 302 Redirect a bad thing in SEO terms?
I am getting a lot of "302 (Temporary Redirects) = True" on many of my product URL's. What does it mean? Is it a bad thing to get these redirects? And how to fix them? Thanks.
