Started my first campaign - keyword rankings do not match
-
Hello,
I started my first campaign on SEOmoz and my keword position do not match the results I receive by using google search or by using another SEO program.
For example - Ingersoll Watches should be on position 6 on google.com - SEOmoz shows me Ingersoll Watches is on 16.
Why does SEOmoz show different results?
Thank you for your attention!

awesome, glad i could help!

Thank you for your answer - I tried all the possible tools for datacenter google search - none worked but I am sure now this is the problem.

Another possibility is that your rankings reports may be pulling from different google data centers while geo-location and local results compound the problem. For example, SEOmoz may be pulling from different data center than your other tool - while your location will play a role in the shuffling of results as well. Although, in my experience, I believe geo has more impact on different rankings than synch issues between data centers now that Google is placing more local biz in the results up front. Run a ranking report test with both tools from the same data center as well as the same geo and review the results ...

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your answer - I knew that and that is why i always clear cookies when i do a search + i am not logged on my google account. The program i am using is showing me those results - Rank tracker from spyglass - I guess the program is just a bad one then.

Hey Cristian,
Google alters the results based on personal preference. You've most likely clicked on your link a few times, and if so, Google is showing you it higher up the rankings thinking it might be what you're looking for.
If you do a search through a proxy website (ie with a different I.P address) you should see the 'real' rankings.

Rank Tracking paid tool
I need one of the best rank tracking tool that allows me to upload keywords in bulk but first I need to see its trial to check either they update daily or they stay with weekly rank which is mostly the case with many free tools. Kindly tell me the one that you have tested and its working good.\ Updated daily.

Accurate Google Keyword Ranking for a domain
Hi Folks, SEO N00b here, in a new job so please go easy on me if i ask stupid questions. I'm looking for some clarification on Google Keyword rankings. I am looking for accurate Google Keywords rankings as when I log into Google Webmaster Tools I am given values like (6-10) for a ranking? When I used SEOMoz (Research Tools -> Keyword & Ranking -> Rank Tracker) it gives me an even less accurate range by simply saying >#50?Why is SEOMoz giving a completely useless metric? Why is its actual rank not shown? I know rankings are becoming less useful as a metric with Google moving toward personalized search but I still have reports to deliver to clients so the conversation of what metrics are going in the report is to be had another day. Right now I just want to get accurate rankings, from what I've found online Google Webmaster tools is recommended as the de-facto ranking tool but it doesn't provide accurate results so how can that be (yes I know it averages out the ranking but 6-10 is a range of values not a single value that represents an average) Dave

Keyword difficulty always high
HI there, I'm new here and am just getting used to the keyword difficulty tool. I've noticed that just about every keyword phrase I type in, including ridiculous ones such as "perspex underpants" or "guy debord's shoes" all have a difficulty well over 50% and many over 60%. It makes little difference what my phrase is. Am I doing something wrong perhaps? How am I to interpret this result? It would seem to suggest that It is always very hard to rank, even for a rare and ridiculous phrase.

Best way to analyze keyword difficulty for 10,000+ keywords?
I've done quite a bit of searching, but can't seem to find a time efficient way to accurately analyze keyword difficulty for large sets of keywords. All of the keyword difficulty tools out there that I've tried are either 1) not accurate 2) slow (like seomoz's kw difficulty tool only allows 5 entries at a time). Can anyone recommend any shortcuts / tools / processes to analyze kw difficulty for large sets of keywords?

Rank tracker not working right
so i'm quite new at using seomoz so maybe this is a silly question. a couple of weeks ago i added 6 url to tack weekly and it's been working so far. since then i've been wanting to add several more but it seems that the list is limited to 6. at first i click the checkbox on track column but when that didn't work i updated each url then click "track this url" --> that didn't work either. can anyone help if maybe i'm doing something wrong? thx

One page per campaign?
Not quite sure if I read correctly, but is it correct that one campaign tracks only one page of my site? So if I wanted to track something like a services page, this would require a second campaign?

Campaign Manager - Keyword Grouping
Hey, I was just thinking that it would be useful to be able to group keywords by page or some other factor in the campaign monitor keyword rank checking tool (I am sure it's called something better than that). Maybe it's just me, but I am struggling a little with this for relatively smaller sites so if I could tag each keyword and filter / group them by the tag it would be another useful tool for my seo utility belt. Fairly painless to implement as well I would imagine. 1. Create tags 2. assign tags to keywords with a drop down (optional) Would be a useful tool when exporting data to group by tag etc. Just a thought. 🙂 Marcus

How to see rankings for a group of keywords over time?
I have around 1200 keywords in an seomoz campaign, chopped into various groups using labels. I am interested in tracking how keywords perform over time, especially groups of keywords. As far as I can tell, in the seomoz tools I can only see historical performance for a single keyword at a time. Is there a way to get a historical performance graph of more than one keyword at once? We often run optimizations for sets of words, so it seems like you would have better stats looking at groups of words vs picking one at a time. Is there a way to export historical data for more than keyword at a time? (So I could graph and analyze this sort of thing myself) Does anyone have other suggestions for tracking rankings in this way? Thanks for any help!
