What weight can 1 huge inbound backlink carry and how long does it take for Google to recognize
-
My DA is only 22. I got a beautifully crafted dofollow backlink from a site with a DA of 94 and an AHrefs rank of 98 (the 98th most valuable domain in the world)
2 parter-
1. How much do you think one link like that will affect my DA and rankings? (i understand this is subjective - looking more for opinions)
2. How long before MOZ and Google Search Console see the link? It has been 10 days and the link is not showing up on either yet.
I know the best thing to do is put my head down and keep building links rather than focusing on "when" and "how much" but I'm getting antsy and curious for the community's opinion.
Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,
Congrats on your great link!
Hope this clarifies your doubts.
Did you use the Google Search Console tool "inspect any URL in..." ?
Did you search for the page - Google search box - that has the link, and then follow the link to your website?
Regarding on how the link will improve the DA, it is hard to say. In my experience, can be from 2 up to 12. Why? it dependes on many factors like the PA of the page, if the page is highly related to the content into your website, if that content is "clear" for Google due to your meta tags are also related to the subject, it is within the best practices and so.
Cyrus Shepard en-lights the subject here: https://moz.com/blog/20-illustrations-on-search-engines-valuation-of-linksGood luck! and please update us with the results. Happy New Year!

" Q: I have a blog and it constantly black links to my ranking page, is this considered bad? Google Penalty
Hello thereIt has just been confirmed that my site is suffering for a Google Penality. The odd thing is that it is just for my set of key keywords and not the whole site. It seems in 2010 that a rouge SEO company I used sent loads of spammy links but I have lots of other good links too. What is your advice moving forward? Will it drop over time? Do I set up a new site (this has been established over 10 years) or try and get better quality links to compensate for the spam ones? Thanks so much! Kindest regards Victoria

Backlinking post penguin
Does anyone have any effective strategies about how to backlink for a new website. I'm just really cautious of this new penguin update and don't want to submit to too many directories or do anything that will get penalised, seen as the website is new.

Blogging for backlinks
I have a real estate website. I would like to start blogging on blogs not related to real estate. I like reading web design, html, css, php, word press etc... blogs. I want to start talking to the bloggers using my real name (not keyword anchor text) on their blog. I'd like to have authentic conversations; however, will this confuse google about my site? If I am using my name as anchor text on sites about webdesign and linking back to a real estate website, what will that do to the SEO? It's also important to consider one other detail. I have determined through link building in real estate related fields that it's really hard to find good domains/page rank when compared to the fields above. I could get a dozen great links in 10 minutes on the above subjets AND be legitimately engaging in conversation with my name, not keywords... Does the invention of "author rank" make this more viable?

What is white hat seo for google penguin and google panda?
Hi, This is my 1st question to some experts. I need advice on link building. Are following good and white hat seo? 1: Bookmarkings on top sites 2: Top directory submission, or directories that seomoz recommended? 3: Top article directories, yahoo voices, ezine etc.. 4: Top web 2.0, wordpress, blogger, tumblr 5: Guest posts on quality blogs. I was use to with black hat methods (by mistake) , that i was not aware, Some are pure blackhat, that i never did. some time it hard to judge which are black hat. In past google like some links, now most are devalue or got penalty. Now i want to do quality seo work and slow process. any advice will be great regarding quality seo. Thanks.
