Metadata configured, but Google only shows URL with sitelinks. Something wrong with my code?
-
Hi guys!
I have a metadata problem with my home page. If I look for the brand's keyword, the SERPs don´t show the metadata I configured, instead it shows the URL with sitelinks. If I use the "site:" command, it doesn't appear at all. This happens only on the home page, not the rest, which are roughly 700 pages. Those appear fine.
I already have a meta title and meta description configured, which include the mentioned KW. It used to appear correctly before. GSC shows it indexed. Most audit tools (configured to crawl JS) detect the metadata. Moz's On Page tool doesn't. Could it be because of the JS configuration? Or am I missing something else? Here´s the meta description code:What do you think? I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!

Google could ignore any given metadata when it wants and how it wants. Ive seen this nummerous times that a manual set title and description is being thrown overboard and google simply selects the content thats onpage in this case.
Dont stare blind on it; make sure your content is relevant on which you wanted to be searched for in the first place. The rest will pretty much follow.

It would help if you shared your website URL.

Folders in url structure?
Hello, Revamping an out-of-date website and am wondering if I need to include the folders (categories) in the url structure? The proposed structure has 8 main folders. I've been reading that Google is ok if the folder is not included in the url, but is it really? The hesitation I have is that the urls are getting long and the main folder only has only a sub folder beneath it. So, /folder-name/facility-name/treatment-overview. This looks too long, doesn't it? Thanks!

Is my knowledge graph code wrong?
I inserted the Knowledge Graph code on our site last week and am still not seeing the knowledge graph in our search results. Is something incorrect with my code? <script type="<a class="attribute-value">application/ld+json</a>"> { "@context" : "http://schema.org", "@type" : "Organization", "name" : "IssueTrak", "url" : "http://www.issuetrak.com/", "sameAs" : [ "http://www.facebook.com/issuetrak", "http://www.twitter.com/issuetrak", "http://plus.google.com/google.com/+Issuetrak"] } script>head> I suspect it is the alignment of the "{" and "}" but others in the company say that doesn't matter. Any other explanations for why the KG isn't showing in the results? Thanks I did test it with Google's Structured Data Testing Tool and got the "all's good."

Google is not indexing my new URL structure. Why not?
Hi all, We launched a new website for a customer on April 29th. That same day we resubmitted the new sitemap & asked Google to fetch the new website. Screenshot is attached of this (GWT Indexed). However, when I look at Google Index (see attachment - Google Index), Automated Production's old website URL's still appear. It's been two weeks. Is it normal for Google's index to take this long to update? Thanks for your help. Cole VoLPjhy vfxVUsO

When should we use Remove URLs feature on Google Webmasters Tool?
Hi there, I run an ecommerce website on Magento. We are no longer using a category. It actually does not appear on the menu: mydomain.com/category.html If this is the case, do you recommend to remove it through the Removal URL feature on GWT? I don't want this to affect the juice of other links of the site such as: mydomain.com/product.html Thanks very much. Regards

Ok here goes... when you Google "Kingspan panels" there are no sitelinks in the SERPS ie a listing like this http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/with-sitelinks.jpg My first line of investigatrion was to look at the XML sitemap here: http://www.kingspanpanels.co.uk/CMSPages/GoogleSiteMap.aspx with a view to make sure its updated and Google Fetch it via webmaster tools. So my question is please..."What can you do to ensure sitelinks appear in the SERpS" Grazie Tanto 🙂

Hyphen in URL
Hi, I would like to know if the following statement holds true today or it doesn't matter whether we use hyphens or underscore If you have a URL like keyword1_keyword2, Google will only return that page if the user searches for keyword1_keyword2 ( highly unlikely ) . But If you have a URL like keyword1-keyword2, that page can be returned for the searches - keyword1,keyword2 and even “keyword1keyword2” Thanks

Google Webmaster Tools reports 404s for plain text. Should I create those URLs and 301 them to actual pages?
IA few years back I noticed that Google Webmaster Tools returns 404s from regular text containing a URL, but no anchor tag. I came accross this again today. Is it worthwhile to create those URLs and 301 redirect them to proper pages.
