Hamburger Menu on Desktop Version - Affect SEO?

Hi There
We are working with developers of a site redesign of an existing site.
They are keen on a hamburger menu on the desktop, as well as mobile. Can I confirm if this will have any implications for the SEO rankings?

It shouldn't have any effect on SEO but it may cause a usability issue, if people can't find what they want some search engines can detect that could have an indirect effect on SEO

Remember to focus on user experiences your not designing the website for yourself but rather for your customers.

It won't have any direct effects on your SEO (mobile is more than 50% of web traffic nowadays, and responsive designs use hamburger menus). Google is also capable of reading anchor texts in your collapsed hamburger menus, so no worries.
However, from a UX point of view, I do think users appreciate having a visible menu on desktop to find the options they are looking for, so maybe consider that you will have less internal navigation in desktop. Hope this helps!

Given that most desktop navigations are already based on hover states or otherwise hidden, I don't see this being any different in terms of direct ranking impact. I suppose the top level menu of a usual desktop navigation is visible, and some tests still show a preference from Google towards visible content.
That said, the indirect impact of users finding the site less usable or intuitive on desktop is probably more significant, both for SEO and other considerations. Google will notice, one way or another, if users don't like using your website, so you should make sure this is tested to your satisfaction.

Only my homepage ranks for my keywords, should I delete my other pages?
I am an independent artist and all of my business inquiries come through my website (www.ChrisCarlsonArt.com). Over the last 6 months I have been trying to get pages other than my homepage to rank for my keywords, but I haven't made any progress. I worry that I am cannibalizing my keywords since my pages all have similar information. Should I just delete my other pages and focus on ranking my homepage? Also, if I delete my other pages will that have a negative impact on my rankings?

How to get rid of bad backlinks
So I noticed my rankings going down and spam score going up. So under my spam score there are over 100 links for different websites but ALL redirect to semalt.com I researched it and it says they hijacked a bunched of backlinks but don't know much more. How can I get rid of all those backlinks? I was told I could use the disavow tool but apparently that can hurt my ranking as well. The semalt.com site has no backlink to me - it looks like the pages that have/had my backlinks, they've redirected to them. Ecommerce On-Site SEO: Keywords in Category Descriptions
Hello, I'm doing on-site SEO for a client's ecommerce site. Are 160 words enough for a category description? I'm using the keywords once at the top of the description, and once at the bottom of the description, with the ones at the bottom reworded so that they are the keywords with a different word order. I used to put the keywords in 3 times but it just feels like stuffing. Is twice, worded differently the second time, enough for a category description? Thanks.

Page Title in Local SEO Title Tags?
Hi All, Still working on my title tag usage for local SEO, and I was hoping for some more feedback. My question is this: In Local SEO titles, I'm using location + keyword combinations, unique on each page. However, since each page has a specific title for the client, I figure I should be placing that at the front. My thought here was that this helps with the overall usability to the reader of the website. Ex. Does show/hide element with javascript impact SEO
Hi I am developing an ecommerce site and want to place text on all category and home page. The challenge is that 300 words of text for the pages does not fit into the design appropriately especially on the home page. If I were to use a show/hide element with javascript would this be seen as spam or a trick to the search engines. I do not think it is spam as it will be actual content for the site and the visitor can view it if they click on the show button. Would love to hear your thoughts?
