How to determine the correct number of ad units post-Panda
-
What guidelines are you using to determine the correct number of ad units? Also is it number of units per page or the size of the ads (visually)?
Any additional guidance or links you can point me to regarding ads in a post-Panda world would be helpful.
-
Ah, when you said ad units, I assumed you mean AdSense. In terms of non G ads, I run 4 per page with no issues. You could probably stretch this to 6 though.
-
This applies to Adsense, but can you verify that it also applies for organic traffic?
-
Im amazed that nobody commented on this. You may post up to 3 AdUnits per page. As long as you follow the rest of the guidlines, you should have no problems. I have a couple of adsense sites that do just fine as long as I follow the rules
"You may place up to three link units on a page, in addition to the three standard ad units, and two search boxes. Just make sure the page complies with our program policies. "
Hope this helps,

H1 and Schema Codes Set Up Correctly?
Greetings: It was pointed out to me that the h1 tags on my website (www.nyc-officespace-leader.com) all had exactly the same text and that duplication may be contributing to the very low page authority for most URLs. The duplicate h1 appears in line 54-54 (see below) of the home page: www.nyc-officespace-leader.com: itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/LocalBusiness" style="position:absolute;top:-9999em;"> <span<br>itemprop="name">Metro Manhattan Office Space</span<br> <img< p="">But the above refers to schema" so is this really duplicate H1 or is there an exception if the H1 is within a schema? Also, I was told that the company street address and city and state were set up incorrectly as part of an alt tag. However these items also appear as schema in lines 49-68 shown below: Dangerous for me to perform surgery on the code without being certain about these key items!! Could ask my developer, however they may be uncomfortable considering that they set this up in the 1st place. So the view of neutral professionals would be highly welcome! itemprop="address" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/PostalAddress">

Can adding "noindex" help with quality penalizations?
Hello Moz fellows, I have another question about content quality and Panda related penalization. I was wondering this: If I have an entire section of my site that has been penalized due to thin content, can adding "noindex, follow" to all pages belonging to that section help de-penalizing the rest of the site in the short term, while we work to improve those penalized pages, which is going to take a long time? Can that be considered a "short term solution" to improve the overall site scoring on Google index while we work to improve those penalized pages, and, once ready, we remove the "noindex" tag? I am eager to know your thoughts on this possible strategy. Thank you in advance to everyone!

OSE - How to determine good links to build on...?
Hey Guys, Weather it be OSE, ahrefs, etc. How do you determine if the link is worth using to build a backlink on? I know to look for a higher DA/PA and overall established links. I want very quality sites for external links (as we all do) but I also want to know what to look for and what to bypass when determining if I should build a backlink on the domain. These are a Few examples / questions i have sorry if they are basic: (the below are all specific examples) 1. If a site has an article and that article page is a DA 65 / PA 1 with Zero (0) established links to that article my backlink is on; would it be link building worthy? Should I leave a backlink, why? ex. lots of different blogspot.com blogs pointing back at my site..^^ Same domian, different blog any benefit? 2. If a site is a PR2 DA 30/ PA 32 with 14 root domains, 250 total links.... Would a link like this give me any benefit or should I skip links like this? Why? 3. What main factors do you focus on/look for and know when & when not leave a backlink to your site when using a tool like OSE, Ahrefs? 4. Should I even worry about a sites PR when linkbuilding since PR doesnt play that big of a role anymore opposed to high quality backlinks? Ive seen PR 7 sites outranked by PR1 site with 200 high quality backlinks to it Thanks for any help and any help is GREATLY appreciated. 🙂

Content Marketing: Use of the words "guest post" in outreach email
Hello, I'm marketing a useful article in our niche, appealing to the humanitarian side of things and I always show I'm a reciprocator. Should my wording in my outreach email be: ...to write a guest post around this article: http://... Or should I just ask if they want help with content and go from there? In other words, should I always call it a guest post for maximum conversions? Thanks.

Can a website be punished by panda if content scrapers have duplicated content?
I've noticed recently that a number of content scrapers are linking to one of our websites and have the duplicate content on their web pages. Can content scrapers affect the original website's ranking? I'm concerned that having duplicated content, even if hosted by scrapers, could be a bad signal to Google. What are the best ways to prevent this happening? I'd really appreciate any help as I can't find the answer online!

Panda 3.7 recovery?
In June '12 we got a bunch of our keyword rankings wacked by Panda 3.7 and haven't recovered. This is really frustrating since we had been hit by the original Panda and spent months fixing our site so that we had recovered in December '11. I've read what I can find about this update to see if there is something specific about it that would have knocked us down again and can't find anything. Does anyone know of any specific issues that this update supposedly "fixed"?

Panda/Penguin & Ecommerce Sites in similar niches
Hello, We have a few online stores that are in similar niches. How do we make sure that we don't get penalized for this (Panda/Penguin) We have the sites interlinked, but our newest one is not going to be linked to the others. Also, will rewriting descriptions help if the product is on more than one site? Thanks!
